                       - A sHoRt RePoRt

As the headline tells you, Symbiosis held a party in Mandal/Norway
from the 10th of July to the 12th. The invitation promised big
prizes and good arrangement. My opinion is that the arrangement
  was totally unsuccesfull. Here`s a short party-story.....

JTW,Nazgul,Merry and I drove early to the busstation. The bus for
Mandal was leaving at 07.40. We didn`t think it would be a great
party, but we looked forward to it anyway. When we had been sitting
on the bus for about 1 hour, some freax from Imp-666 and Offence
entered the bus. They were the only ones that ever entered the bus.
Usually when a party is arranged, you meet several freax on the
way, but this seemed to be an exception. Some hours later we arrived
at the party-hall. Nothing told us that there was going to be a
party in this hall, as we didn`t see anyone outside the buildings.
We carried all our equipment inside and entered the main-hall....
I can only say that we were shocked. What we saw was an allmost
empty hall, with perhaps only 25 freax sitting around playing games.
Some big logos at least told us that there were some known groups
presented. Of course Symbiosis was there, but they didn`t do any-
thing at the moment we arrived. Well, fortunately it got better
after some hours. And at about midnight I think that about 140 people
was sitting in front of their computers. The first night nothing
happened. I was so bored that I would rather like to be home drinking
tea with my grandparents. They ofcourse showed some movies, but I`m
getting sick of watching Terminator 2 over and over again...........

The second night was the deadline of the music, gfx and demo-compo.
We wondered if there really was going to be a demo-competition as
we hadn`t heard about any releases. The first deadline was at 20.00
on the 11th of July(Of course it`s July you idiot), but the contri-
butions wasn`t delivered for yet another four or five hours. Then
finally, at three in the morning(12th/7), the gfx & music-compo was
held. I was so tired at that moment, that I allmost don`t remember
anything from it. All I can say is that Jason of Silents won the
music-compo with a quite cool tune. I don`t know the result from the
gfx-compo, but as only 5 or 6 pictures was delivered, I don`t care
much about it. I was sleeping when the demo-compo finally was going
to be held, but Merry was told to wake me up. Only the simple amount
of two demos contributed. One demo by Amega Industries and one mega-
demo by Triumph. The demo by Amega Industries was called Look a Bit-
plane, and I personally think it sucks. That`s also my opinion about
the Triumph-demo. It wasn`t any triumph at all.

Since we left before the final results was finished, I can`t tell you
who the winner was, but you shouldn`t care much if you miss the demos.

Here`s a list of some of the presented groups(only those I remember):

  Crusaders & Deadline Desire
  The Silents Exile
  Amega Industries Andromeda
Devils The Sorcerers From Middle Earth
  Crystal D-Tect
  Amiga Freelancers Avalon
  Imp-666 Offence
  Supernova Symbiosis
Addict + some PC and Archimedes groups (yuck)!

I must say that this party was extremely bad organized, but we sure
had fun anyway. Not with comuters, but in the swimming-pool next-door
to the hall. We also used a big amount of money on pizza, coke and
other important things. Oh, I allmost forgot. There was a twin-tris
and gravity-force competition, and that was quite fun too.
As a usual copy-party, I must say that I were lucky. I copied allmost
70 disx, and I finally got Monkey Island II. I also got some other
NEW things(at that moment), for example Dune, Lure of the Temptress etc.
But even if we did copy plenty of new stuff, I looked forward to go home
all the time. This was definently my most boring party.
So if Symbiosis is going to arrange another party, I think I`ll stay home
drinking tea with my grandparents. It seems that no party can beat
the Crystal&TSL&Anarchy party which was held in Aars. I really look
forward to the Revenge of the Party conference. It will truly be
  awesome......
