INTERVIEW WITH HAWKEYE / KEFRENS

In  last RAW you could see a picture
of  his Amiga.  This time we have an
interview with the man behind one of
the   most  exciting  Amiga  in  the
scene!


Can  you  tell  us all the equipment
you have made to your Amiga and give
a brief explanation to each item?

No  problem.  Actually you cant call
this    equipment,    it   is   only
indicators  and  switches  but  i'll
write them down anyway.

We take the LEDs first:

  1 Diskdrive Saves (all drives)
  1 Diskdrive Writeprotected 
                        (all drives)
  1 Filter on/off
  1 1 MB Chipmem on/off
  1 Fastmem on/off
  8 All databits (8 diodes)
  1 Overwrite bootblock
  1 RXD (Seriel recieves data)
  1 TXD (Seriel transmit data)
  3 Boot from Df0: - DF1: - Df2:
  1 Berr (Shows Buserrors)
  1 Pause on/off (This one shows 
                doublebuserrors too)
  1 Autofire on/off
  4 Small VU-meters  
  3 Interrupt Levels 
  3 Function Code (68000)
  3 Interrupt Request 
            (Show the different IRQ)
  1 Display to show the different 
    Interrupt Level
  2 Displays for the trackdisplay

And the Switches:

  1 MB chipmem on/off
  Fast on/off
  Filter on/off
  Trackdisplay on/off
  Left/right audiochannel off
  All drives writeprotected
  Autofire on/off
  Pause on/off
  
Turn-switches:

  Interrupt level 1-7 (IPL)
  Boot from df0: - df1: - df2:
  Autofire Speed

And at last the buttons:
  Interrupt level

  Hard Reset
  Mouse Button 1

How many

do  you  have  on  the  top  of your
computer?

Well, i got 11 normal switches and 3
turn-switches   -  6  buttons  -  38
light-   diodes  and  3  "7-Segment"
displays...

How  much  money  and  time have you
spendt developing your Amiga?

Shit, i don't even wanna think about
it, because sometimes something just
didn't  work as i wanted it too, and
i thought about it for hours'n'days.
Money.....If   we   DONT  count  the
repairs i think about 600 Dkr.
  
Do  you work or educuate yourself as
an electrician?

At  the  moment i am under education
as an "electronics mechanic".

Have you ever destroyed something in
the   Amiga  while  installing/using
some of your extra equipment?

What  havent  been destrued ???  The
first  year  i  had  my Amiga it was
repaired  10 - 15 times and i didn't
even open it !!!

Well,  If you should sell your Amiga
with  all  your  equipment, how much
would you sold it for?

Do  you wanna buy it ???  No, i dont
think  i  can  sell it...  I thought
about  selling  it  a LOTS of times.
But  who wants to buy a totally ugly
computer ???  But if so, i would try
to get 3000 Dkr for it.

How  cheap do you get your Hardware?
E.G  How much do you have to pay for
a Fatter Agnus (in $)?

I  have some good friend which works
in  a  computerstore and i can buy a
Fatter Agnus for about 25 US$...
Well,   Do   you   think   all  this
equipment  is  REALLY  neccessary to
work with your computer ?

Ofcourse  it  is neccessary !!!  How
can   you   live   without   ex.   a
resetbutton  ???  Only very non-lazy
people    can    live    without   a
resetbutton.

You have also sprayed your computer,
Which Colours?

I  first  thought  about spraying my
Amiga  when i saw the A-500 owned by
Buck/Static  Bytes.   This  one  was
sprayed in gold only.  But i decided
to  spray it in more "wild" colours.
So i decided to spray the right side
in strong red and the left in strong
green.


Which    computer    do   you   find
Bestlooking and who owns it?

The  bestlooking  computer i've seen
was  owned  by  Blizzart of Kefrens.
It  was  a  normal  A-500  that were
build  into a PC tower-cabinet.  But
he dont have it anymore due to a lot
of problems with it.

Do  you like the combination Chips &
CocaCola together with Amiga ?

I do, but my computer dont...There's
no  danger  with  chips because they
dont  harm  the  computer as long as
stay outside...If they manage to get
inside  the  computer you should get
it out very quick.  But coke is much
worse.   NEVER place a glass of coke
on  you  A-500.  I did it once but i
was  lucky.   Only my keyboard got a
bit dirty.

Maybe  it  would be a good idea, but
who  should judge ?  And what should
the Oscar look like ?

What   are   you  doing  in  Kefrens
without making nice equipment ?
  
My   mainactivity   in   Kefrens  is
swapping.   Beside  that i make some
PR by making stickers, shirts etc.

Last Word ?

Yep...I  wanna  tell  you  a  little
about  my  future plans...Just after
THE   PARTY,   my  computer  totally
crashed  and  i first got it back in
April.   It  was  VERY  dead  and  i
couldn't   figure   out  why...So  a
computer-mechanic  i  know  fixed it
for  me.  But it took him FOUR month
to  find  the  bugs...So now i trash
the  old  cabinet  and buy a Desktop
Cabinet    (pc-style).    There   be
atleast  50-60  LEDS,  and  LOTS  of
buttons...I'll  put a internal modem
in it and a harddisk (ofcos)

Beside  that  i  got a lots of other
ideas with it but maybe you'll get a
picture  of it.  Anyway it should be
finished at the Hurricane party.
