Belgian Scene Event - 1 9 9 8 - __Are you sick of commercial parties, where money is more important than fun? Tired of organizers having no relation to the scene at all? Fed up with hundreds of PC users playing Quake all day long? Then the following information might be of interest for you...- __Last year Crisp & Franky (Both members of CBK back then. -Ed.) tried to re-animate the Amiga scene in Belgium by organizing the first party since years. They took a rather risky road and decided to make this event Amiga only, aware of the fact that this would mean much less visitors and therefore a much higher financial risk... Shortly before the party, Amiga International noticed it and liked the idea of an party for Amiga users only. There were too little time for big support, but AI sponsored a complete A1200 package to give away as prizes in the competitions... __This year, the Belgian Scene Event will be repeated! It will be completely different to last year's party, though, so if you have heard anything negative about BSE 1997, forget it! Instead of last year's weeks, the organizers this year have 8 months to plan the event. There will be a much better party-place with a much safer power supply. The only negative point is the date - It crashes precisely with the Assembly - 7th till 9th of August. This due to the fact that Assembly Organizing revealed the date only some days ago, while BSE organizers had booked the party-place even earlier. But then again, I don't think that a lot of people would attend both parties, even if there were some weeks in between. The BSE is meant for meeting and chatting with other sceners. To have fun, because that's what many modern parties lack! Still, there will be competitions (Demo, intro, 4ch, gfx...) and even some prize-money. (Although you won't get rich. -Ed.) The quality of this party depends on you... The more people appear, the better it gets. It's located perfectly for people from France, England, Holland and Germany - And of course Belgium... __Finally, Amiga International will fully support this year's edition of the party, as the BSE 1998 has been recognized as the "Official Amiga Party" by them. . This will be a TRUE Amiga party for TRUE Amiga users!! If you want to know more about it, look out for the pre-invitation text or wait for the invitation intro, which will be released at Mekka & Symposium '98.
