Interview with Performer o f Melon Dezign Crystal done by Head/Alcatraz via mail MD: Hi Performer! Please introduce yourself (age, function, school/work etc). PE: I'm 3 years old and I used to be in a nursery school. Some people say that I am also a coder, but it is only a rumour. MD: You`ve just joined Melon Dezign. Why have you left your old group? PE: That's a bit difficult to explain. After some problems in TSL france, I joined Anarchy, the best organized group ever. The problem is that (A) sounds like quantity before quality. All the demos are good, but absolutly nothing more than good. No great ideas. Walt asked me to code a demo for Melon, and a few weeks after to join Melon DeZign. MD: Melon Dezign is a subgroup of Crystal. Why a subgroup? Don`t you want to be mixed up with the cracking section of Crystal? PE: I don't care. I do not feel myself like an illegal freak. If some of the other members in Melon want to stay in Crystal, it is up to them. I will just follow the group. MD: You just won the compo on the TRSI party in Belgium with your demo `Humantarget`. Please tell us something about the demo. Did you expect to win? PE: Some of the routines were coded to be released in a trackdisk demo in cooperation with Ronan. In fact I did it alone because Ronan doesn`t know what design means. The HumanTarget was released in about 3 weeks. MD: What do you think about the TRSI party? PE: Not the best party ever but I have met some cool guys. MD: Do you think the design of a demo is very important? Compare your design with Kyd/Balle. PE: Yeah, of course it's important. Without any design, even a really good routine is not very interesting to look at. I think Kyd/Balle have some of the best ideas on Amiga. Their design is sometimes not really good, but compared with the others, they are still at the top. MD: I heard that Alliance Design is dead, because many guys were busted. Can you give us a statement about that? PE: No, that is not true. AD is not dead, but Corto stopped his activities on Amiga. It seems that AD still have some good coders. MD: It seems to be very dangerous to be illegal in France. I heard about special organisations who bust illegal freaks. Did you or other Melon France members got in trouble with them? PE: That is true. The french association against piracy is really active. I had some problems a few months ago because of illegal video tapes, but nobody else in Melon never had any problem. MD: Do you plan a second part of `Humantarget`? If so, could you give us more informations about it? PE: I will never code a HumanTarget II. We are trying to make new kind of demos, with some new effects, new style of design. We do not want to stay on the same stage. MD: What do you think about the scene in France? PE: Like in all the other countries. Some cool dudes, and some assholes. Some lamers only able to spread some fuckin rumours. MD: Are there more releases planned by Melon Dezign in future? PE: Certainly a new little one-part demo in a near future, with some new effects and music from Audiomonster. Everyone in Melon is waiting for the demo from Motif, but he is so lazy. MD: How is your relationship to the rest of Melon Dezign and Crystal? I heard there were some misunderstandings between Walt and some other guys. PE: I did not know about some problems between Walt and any other member of Crystal. How can you believe the fuckin rumours sent to your disk-mag by some lamers? Walt is the organizer in France, and it is quite ok. MD: Please tell us you favorite... Groups: PHA and Crionics are good. Coders: Celebrandil/PHA, Chaos/Sanity, Motif/Melon, T. Landspurg Musicans: Static, Audiomonster, Uncle Tom, NHP+BKH Graphicans: Walt/MELON, HOF/TSL, Mack/SCOOPEX Demo: Orgasmatron/TSL Diskmag: My Toilet Paper is the only one. It contains the best rumours. MD: Do you think about coding something for commercial? Did you get offers from software companies? PE: No commercial! MD: I`ll give you now some short expressions, please give a statement... Hardwired: A nice demo... Alliance Design: Nothing to say. Kyd/Balle Prod: A nice little duo. Modemscene: Do not care. Odyssey: So long, so boring. Not a demo. R.A.W.: It seems to be a diskmag. McDisk: It seems to be another diskmag ?! MD: Ok, now you`ve some space for messages or whatever you want to say... PE: Nothing to say. MD: Thank you for answering all these questions, Renaud. Nice to met you on the party. See you... PE: See you... hope you will like my interview. It contains some good news & rumours, so use them. Hehe!
