            THE TRIP PARTY
            by The Ripper

Denmark is the land of these events.
Germany, Norway, Poland and Finland
feature a huge one of them.
Holland and France are among them.
Even Spain and Hungary have them.

Of course we're referring about
parties.
In fact, in almost every European
country has been held, at least once,
a computer party that could be defined
so.
I say in almost, because Italy, for
istance, has never been so lucky to
have within its borders a nice event
such as a computer party.
But things seem to be destined to
change.
A Pc group which has shown brilliant
talent in demomaking (just look at
their Symposium release, Claudia,
never seen such a beautiful demo!) is
going to organize the first Italian
party which will be called "The Trip".

"Honestly, it had to be held during
the second week of April, but we had
some real hard problems" declares
Freud the Druyd, when we asked more
about this party.
"Skey, our main man behind The Trip
had great problems in finding a decent
place where the festival could be
held. In Rome it's always painful
when you have to organize huge
meetings. Just think he did not find
anything cheaper than 5.000.000 L.
per day (around 4000$), and it was
surely too much for an event that
could not attract more than 400-500."
"He had no sponsors behind" continues
kindly our Freud "so, I thought that I
could organize the party, and my own
firm could sponsorize the whole
affair... But honestly, as I'm from
Benevento, and my firm works mainly in
this town and its close places I won't
held anything far from that..."

That's the point. The Trip'97 will be
held, but won't be held in Rome, the
capital. Instead of Rome it'll be
held in Benevento, which is located in
the southern part of Italian
peninsula.

Personally, I think it's a pity.
Rome was surely more attractive to
foreigners, as it can boast great
monuments and life, nevertheless we
have still some hopes to see this
party hold.

But what is going to feature The
Trip'97? Let's have a closer look to
the official invitation written by
Deathstar, the organizing group.

The Trip '97 is a DemoParty. It'll be
held in Benevento, and it can be
considered the first full-featured
Italian DemoParty Ever!
It will be held in Rome in August.
The PartyPlace is not yet defined, but
it will be a very huge hall with place
for at least 300 persons. Actually
we're working on the PartyRules, and
we're searching for a good place
(we've already found one, but we don't
wanna still give it for sure, since
'till now it's not sure at all...).

The Trip '97 will be a PC and Amiga
DemoParty. There will be many compos
for both computers, and this is an
unofficial list of categories:

Music: MultiChannel Compo
       4Chn Compo
Graphic:Raytrace Compo
        NonRaytrace Compo
        Any Idea ???
Demo:Bitty (smaller than 256 Bytes)
     4KIntro (smaller than 4Kb)
     Intro (smaller than 64Kb)
     Demos (everything larger.
     Note: the maximum size allowed
     for a Demo is 4Mb)
Extra Compo:Java Compo
            CGI Compo

Note that there is a minimum number of
entries for any compo. Any compo with
less than 3 people involved in it,
will be included in the most similar
one. If there isn't any other similar
compo, then the prizes will be reduced
(in number, non in quantity... means:
3 entries? only 1st and 2nd will be
paid; 2 entries? only 1st will be
paid; 1 entry? no prizes paid!)

The Official Rules will be published
really soon, as for the PartyPlace.

No matter where, when and who'll
