EYE OF THE HURRICANE! ======================= By Pearl / Parasite Party time. party on Dude... Okay, this article is a bit delayed (about one yaer actullay), and the subject is one who all scene-freaks who have been involved with the scene for more than a half year know about; -> THE HURRICANE PARTY <- "Ohh, no" you say to you self, "I wanna' pack another article", but please wait a moment, and read a bit futher. The article is mainly to the people who were present at the party. I wrote this article because I saw a party report of the Melon party in Top Secret #15, and the reviewer wrote that the melon party was the 2nd hugest failure in the scene-historie. I think that it was THE worst party every (hopefully including the parties to come). And then I have a question to ask all of you scene freaks out there, who mean that the Hurrican really was SOOOO bad! The only thing who wasn't good at the Hurricane party were that the prices weren't paid to the people who won the compo's. That's ofcause the organizers fault right? WRONG! It were the "Party crashers" fault (2000AD + more), THEY were the people who used a modem so the people behind the party were forced to use all they had of money (and more than that) to cover the bill. The party-crashers ruined the place and forced the organizers to pay for for all the broken things, so the only one we can blame for not getin' our price is ourself! The organizers DID pay Jesper kyd(?) some of his price, so he could get home, that was more than Melon did. But ofcause, a party should consist of more than just prices! As for an example: ROOMS FOR EVERYBODY; Did anybody at the Hurricane suffer from not enugh space? GREAT PRODUCTIONS; Wouldn't you say that there weremany cool productions at the Hurricane party? Just to mention a few, there were: GUARDIAN DRAGON II, S.O.S, IN THE KITCHEN and more... plus lotsa' new games for the game-freaker. MANY PEOPLE FROM MANY COUNTRIES; I think that there were many groups from all over the world, and almost all of the coolest crews in the world were present at this party. THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT; The equipment at the party didn't exactly make me complain (only because it were a bit hard to sleep, next to one of the huge loudspeakers) FOOD,COKE 'N' BOOZE; There were an nice cafeteria at the party place were you could get hot food and cold coke 24 hours a day. And if you didn't have that much money or would rather eat something else there were nothing more than 400 meters to the nearest seven-elleven, and there was a baker, a grill and a ice-shop too. In the evening HURRICANE had arranged a kind of disko, this wasn't the coolest disko ever seen, but it was nice anyway, and you could just take a cab 7 kilometeres, and then you were down town(?) with LOTS'A girls and cool people. Dosn't that SOUND like the perfect party? I think so, so what went wrong? Nobody really knows (or does the party-crasher?) but I think it was a kind of fashion trip; hey this is lame, right? -eh eh,yes right! And so on, what a pity, because I think that HURRICANE is one of my greatest parties to date (including THE GATHERING and THE PARTY), no so much because of the scene because I were drunk almost all the time, and Gizmoduck,Ufo / 2000ad , DNV / Mirror and me, stayed there for above a week after the party, enjoying the sun, the beach, the alkohol and not atleast the GIRLS, I was actullay visiting a girlfriend(?) "over there" later in the summer holiday.... What would I say with this article?? The biggest unanwsered question in historie !!! No, ithink I tried to open ya' eyes for what a "scene-trend" can do to an nice party! Or atleast I (and several other people I have talked to about this subject lately) think it was a nice party! But I can't say I you have had the same nice experience as I do, but i sure hope for your sake. WHY COMPLAINING????
