    An interview with Sane/Scorpio

      Written By Cloud 9/Vicious

Please introduce yourself to our dear
readers...

My real name is Pieter and I am 17
years old. My function is being the
leader of Scorpio, further on I was a
fulltime-swapper, but I had to cut
down my contacts a bit because I have
to spend a lot more time on my final
exams, because that wasn't going so
smoothly.. Further on I spend some
more money in real life and I begin to
have a money-problem! That means some
contacts have to leave!! (Not many!!)
My hobbies are Tae-kwon-do, cycling,
Frisbee, Fitness (and maybe American
football in the near future). I'm
attending a local school called the
RSG and I'm doing the 6th and last
year, which means exams....aaargg!
The only hardware I have is an Amiga
500 and a monitor, I wanted to buy an
external diskdrive and some other
stuff but due to the problems
mentioned above I won't buy them
anymore, I've sold my printer (which I
never used ..) and I was thinking
about selling my Amiga too. (Dunno
yet!)

How and when did you managed it to get
into the scene?

A few years ago (I think it was the
end of '89) I came in contact with a
guy from Denmark called Jan.He was in
a group called Shock, because of his
influence I started to swap (only with
two guys, Faith/Atlas and El Loco
who's now in Paragon).A few weeks
later a friend of mine called Yorick
(Jay One) said he wanted to start a
group and asked me to join. We called
the group : Paragon and we had two
(!!) members (NO coders) We got a new
member called Knightram and later
another new member called Weirdo, in
the meantime we changed the group name
to Falon. I started to code a little,
but it looked like shit so we were
happy when Dr. Poison/Eurix asked us
to form a whole new group. Two days
later TSM of the Lunatics asked us to
join Lunatics and we did ... There
were some problems, which I wont
mention in this interview , so I left
Lunatics together with the best of
Lunatics Holland to form Scorpio!!!!!!
(This was in August 1992)

Are the members of Scorpio also your
friends or are they just members?

That is a difficult question, what is
a friend in the scene?? Weirdo(Olav)
is a real good friend in real life, I
visit him often and I go to a bar or
disco with him.Joe and The Cube are
older friends as the rest so they
visit me more often as the rest. Of
course Quazar, Radium, Array and D
Icelord are friends of me too, but it
is different as with Weirdo for
example. I have chosen the formation
of Scorpio myself, so it is not so
hard to under- stand that I don't have
any enemies in Scorpio.

You'd recently left the Lunatics and
formed Scorpio, why?

Because of some internal problems, TSM
promessed me a diskmag and a lot of
good trackmos but Lunatics didn't
produce anything. Also the divisions
became too huge. The distance was too
great too! Imagine this : a member
of Lunatics living 25000 kilometres
away from my place!! (Woody in
Australia!!)

NOTE : Aztec, Hollywood, Subculture,
TSM, Lunatics Austria and Lunatics
Australia (Hi Woody!! My great
pal!!!) are still my friends. (But I
doubt it if Lunatics is still alive
when you read this!?!)

Do you have any future plans for the
scene?

No real plans, the only thing I wanna
do is producing good stuff and enjoy
the part of the scene I still like.

What is your opinion about.....

Diskmags ?

- I always wanted to have my own mag,
but now I don't want it anymore
because it takes a lot of time and
money (stamps etc.) A diskmag has to
be very good if it wants to survive in
the scene of today because there are
too many good diskmags. I am also an
editor of Magbox, the diskmag of my
good friends in Balance (Hi Wolfman!!)
this is, according to me, a great mag
so I have enough to do in the Mag-
scene!

The Silents ?

- Better than Anarchy, I didn't like
Static Chaos but all the other pro-
ductions are usually very good.
Silents Holland was pure shit.

Facet/Anarchy ?

- One of the best graphicians in
Holland, together with Jay One/Free-
style and Sec 4/Jetset, not the best
of Europe because Rack is the best.

Mantronix & Tip ?

- I don't like their music very much,
although what they do IS good, I just
don't like their style that's all.

The Dutch Scene ?

- Pure shit, there are only 4 or 5
real demo groups which have proved to
be good. Most of the so-called
'Elite' guys in the Dutch scene are
lame and the guys who ARE cool are not
with many ....

Swapping ?

- It takes a lot of time, and since I
have been busted (Hi Cloud 9, Jay One
& Weirdo!! You too, eh?!!) I have to
pay all my stamps ! Anyway, although
it costs a lot, I like it because you
get some pure friendship! Hi, Mc
Green, Flame, Flash, Woody, Leebold,
Rebel MC and all the others I know!!!

There has been a lot of shit-talk
about you by TSM/Lunatics. Do you
want to put certain things straight
and do you have a message to TSM ?

Yes, TSM and I got a terrible fight at
the time when I left Lunatics. Anyway
he was wrong and I was wrong too! TSM
acted very brave when he sent me a
letter in which he told me he was
sorry! Everything is ok now!My
excuses too, TSM! (Simon: write me
again!!)

The Lunatics had a lot of divisions,
but in Scorpio you decided to stay a
Dutch group without divisions. Why?
Was it too difficult to organise it in
the Lunatics with so much divisions?

We don't need divisions because we
have the qualified people we need,
further on we think it is too
difficult to talk and arrange things
when you live 25 000 kilometres away
from each other.

Do you only send disks to your
contacts or other crap too like
posters, stickers, and tapes etc.?

I always send posters and stickers to
my real friends like Leebold/Trident/
Dual crew, Rebel Mc/Desire and El
Loco/Paragon (and a lot of others) to
the real swap-aholics I just sent
disks (and a letter).

Would you like to have a modem?

No, I (my parents) already have a
phonebill which is far too high. I
don't want to waste money on a modem.

What kind of real music do you like?

All kinds of music like : House,
Rock, Hardrock (some), Pop, etcetera.

Well, I'm out of questions now, thanks
for this interview and good luck with
your crew! Now you've got some space
to write some messages to your
contacts and friends.

Hi to : Everyone I know! (the list
is too big, check out our container-
pack if you want to see the greets! But
special thanks to all in Scorpio, for
forming a helluva group! Also special
thanks to Jay One/Freestyle, for being
my great friend for ever !! (See ya
Yorick! Keep up the superb
painting!!) That's all!! (Oh, of
course to all in Vicious! I wish you
luck with MEGAZIN! And to all out
there:Support this disk mag! It
depends on your contribution!
