INTERVIEW WITH ZINKO OF KEFRENS

Interview with Zinko of Kefrens

Done by James / Balance

Zinko is really an organized guy. He
always drags around with a briefcase
full of disks and he's generally a very
smart guy, anyway here we have an
interview with him.

(BK = James / Balance)

BK: Hi Jack! How about introducing
yourself to the readers?

ZINKO: Dam, Dam, Daammm! I'm here,
but who am I? Well, my real name is
Jack Dandanell, but for many guys I'm
also known as "Zinko / Kefrens". I'm
19 years old (30/10-74) (No shit, eh!),
and even better I only have one year
left of my education as a carpenter. I
live in a city called Slagelse, in the
wonderful contry of the true vikings!
(Denmark) (Hey, that's Norway! -Cs)
(It's DENMARK!!!! -Wolfie.)

BK: OK, before we can start this
excellent interview, I have to ask one
very important question from you: Do
you believe in the power of pyramids?

ZINKO: Of course I belive in the power
of the pyramids, but that has nothing
to do with me being in Kefrens. As you
might know it has been approven that
there are gathered magnetic powers in
the pyramids. So I think there are
more strange things related to the
pyramids, than you often believe.

BK: Tell us your scene history
(previous groups, handles, etc...).

ZINKO: Wow! That was a tough one, but
I will try to give you a short version.
It started way back in the good old
C64 days, I was just playing around
with some games. But one day a friend
of mine came to visit me, he had
brought a demo with him, which he of
course showed me. After this I was
really amazed, and we started getting
interested in making demos ourselves.
So after some days we made our first
group, which we called "Rowdy". We
where not very good at this point, but
we were full of willpower. After some
time we managed to release a couple of
demos, but they where rather poor.

Some more months went by, and "Rowdy"
died. Another month passed and we
decided to rebuild our group, but this
time under the name "The Shadow
Dreamers". We had gotten a little
better at this point, but we only
managed to release one demo called
"Power Dream", After this demo was
released I decided to move on to a
bigger machine, so I bought myself an
AMIGA 500.
   When I got this machine, I didn't
really know any other Amiga owners, so
it wasn't so cool. I only knew a few
dudes, who didn't really get anything.
So I didn't know anything about the
scene, but one day a guy called
Raistlin called me and asked if I would
join their group as a swapper. The
group was "Disorder". I joined, and
one week later we released a megademo.
(Remember those?) But the group soon
lived up to its name, and it really got
in disorder.
At this point I had become really
good friends with Xience of the Goonies
2041, (Hi Solnova! it's you!!) so I
and Thunderbyte asked if we could join
them, and they agreed. We joined a
group which really seemed to be cool,
but we soon discovered that all what
they cared about were boards. We tried
to get it going for the better, so we
released a couple of intros and demos
for them. But when I asked, if I could
get a memberlist from the leader
"Master ed". He just said: "Tell me
what you want and I'll get it for you."
After this I got really pissed off.
In the meanwhile Xience had joined
Deadlock and I soon followed. Deadlock
was a really friendly group, and I
enjoyed my time there very much. But
the group was slowly falling apart, so
at The Party II I joined Majic 12.
Majic 12 was really a nice group,
but in the end I got really tired of it
because there are way too many members,
and too little friendship.
The best parts of Majic 12 were and
still are M12 Hungary (Hello Zozo,
Rack, and Avantage ) and M12 Sweden
(Bop, bop, Burton, Zyx )
So finally at the Galemandsgilde '93
I joined the forces of Kefrens. This
is the place where I think I will stay
because there is a perfect friendship,
and everybody know each other much
better this way!
About my handle, I have always used
it. It is almost the same as five in
Spanish, but even more like Bazooka in
Finnish, which happens to be the
coolest language in the world. That's
also why I must say "Hello!" to all the
nice Finns who are helping me in
learning it!

BK: ZZZZzzzz.....ZZZZzzz......

ZINKO: Hey you wake up, I'm waiting
for the next question!!!

BK: Did you start on the Amiga or did
you own another computer before?

ZINKO: As I told you above I started
out on the C64, but I soon jumped over
to the wonderful world of Amiga!

BK: How much time do you have to use
for swapping every day?

ZINKO: I really don't know? I use as
much time as I have, and if that isn't
enough, it has to wait. I also have to
apologize to all my contacts for my
short letters in the passed months.
But I haven't really had the time,
because there have been a lot of other
things to do. But as my friends should
know, I always try to write a long
letter to them. Even when I sometime
fail.

BK: How much money do you use for
swapping per month?

ZINKO: I don't really know, but it is
way too much. Just drop me a line and
I will use even more. No joke. There
is always space for another friend!
Donations are also very welcome. Just
make impact on the address in the end
of this interview!

BK: How about telling us something
about Kefrens?

ZINKO: Some Icelandic farmers, who got
tired of horseshit and moved to
HASLEV.. Later on more civilised
beings joined. NOW only MELLICA
remains. (HE has got a tracktor, you
know!!!).. In fact nobody really knows
Mellica. We have never been allowed to
visit him at his farm in Haslev. He
has got a BIIIIG cow, blocking the road
leading to his prominent castle. As
Vention pronouses Mellica. "MUUH sagde
den lille Milkako, og lagde sin diller
i sin mors sk0d." (Mellica was just
KICKED from Kefrens. -Cs)

KEFRENS - When a good laugh isn't
enough..

BK: Do you know that Kefrens isn't
spelled right?

ZINKO: OFFcourse, hvy Immitate like
everydoby ilse?
The king, from whom we got inspired,
is named Chephren. BUT face it, half
the German population couldn't even
think their way to Chephren. JOKE!!!
NOT!! NO. The real reason is that in
Denmark "Ch" is pronoused "K", and "Ph"
"f". Therefore CHEPHREN becomes ....
KEFREN. And since we ARE his fans, We
WOULD BE CALLED BENTS. UPS..
KEFRENS.....

BK: Have you ever tried to code, paint
or compose?

ZINKO: Yeah. I'm secretly coding all
of LAXITY'S routines. Look out for my
soon coming Multi-Desert-Dragon!! It
will of course have a special hidden
tracktor part, so that all farmers have
something to look up too!

BK: Please tell us your favourite...

Coder: Chaos/Sanity & Spy/Crionics
Graphician: Hof/Melon DeZign and my
friend Cougar/Sanity
Musician: Heatbeat/Melon DeZign
ofcourse! But also the rest of the
Melon-orchestra ( Hi Schmoovy-Schmoov!)
Demo: Dunno, there are so many. But I
hate when they don't work on AGA.
Group: Melon DeZign! and not all those
other BAD imitations!!

BK: Who do you hate most in the scene?

ZINKO: Seen / Melon DeZign ofcourse!!!
No, just kidding. Hello Henrik. Too
bad that this interview will first be
out after your party, but I hope it
will all turn out to the better! I
think it will be at least 100 times
better than the party III! (Hahaha!
What a joke! -Cs)

BK: Do you still believe in the power
of pyramids?

ZINKO: Silly question, sure I do!!!!
Do you belive that the human race will
survive?

BK: Please comment the following words:

Ankh: Eternal life!.... Well, almost,
but at least life!
A1200: Almost like the power of those
pyrathings

Balance: What? It can be hard to keep
the balance.
Compatibility: Rules. EHh.. Hi Seen!
Techno: Crap! Almost as POP.
When words are not enough?: 'When 130
members are not enough' Quote Hof!

BK: How much time do you use with your
'girlie', Amiga, every day?

ZINKO: Hard to say, if I had a cow
like Mellica I might have known. But
since that not the case, I can't tell
you. It can be rather hard keeping
track of the time inside a pyradims,
because you can't see the big light
ball in the sky. But if I had a
tracktor, I might get out more often.
Yum-Yum!

BK: Do you have any other interests
than the scene?

ZINKO: If I have any other interests
than Seen? I'm not interested in Seen
at all, He is just a good friend!!!
Ups!! Of cause I have! Parties and
girls. But also licking stamps,
watching the cows, and drinking the
horses in Haslev!
   Even better is irritating my
neighbours with loud music. And
kicking Vention the janitors ass! (Got
ya!)

BK: Do you have got a girlfriend? If
yes, then describe her to us.

ZINKO: Sure I have, but she is too
cute to be put into words. She has to
be seen! Kisses to Pernille!!! Well I
can try. She is a bit smaller than me,
with long blond hair, and blue eyes.
This is really not easy, so you have
to live without a detailed description.
The most important thing is that I know
what she looks like, am I right!

BK: Tell us something about your dog!

ZINKO: My duck? Ohh - my dog, well he
is rather black, for a black dog, that
is. He has a white spot on the chest,
and he has also started getting gray
hairs. At the moment he is too fat,
but I don't care. He seems to like it
and if you want to see him you should
check out Top Secret #14!

BK: Now you can ask me some questions!

ZINKO: Yeah, did you get all the
question on the answers you gave me?

BK: Uh well, seems like it.

ZINKO: Why aren't we allowed to see
Mellica's tracktor?

BK: I'd BET it's because there's a big
COW blocking the way....

ZINKO: What made you think, that I
could be serious for more than two
minutes?

BK: I didn't. Do you think any of
this is rather serious? (Okay, STOP
this! -Wolfie.)

BK: Please tell us how your normal day
is like.

ZINKO: Normal! Who do you call
normal?
   I think it's rather boring, so I
won't tell you about it! I can just
tell you it's really expensive, and a
lot of hard work. It often irritates
me that the horses won't stand still,
and Vention keeps breaking the broom!
Beside this I have to get up early,
and that sucks. Especialy in the
Wintertime, because it gets so fucking
cold outside! And I have to make holes
in the ice, so that the horses can get
something to drink.

BK: What music do you listen to?

ZINKO: Cypress Hill, Ice T, Napalm
Death, but also many other nice things.
Body Count is also rather cool...
EEhhh. Paragon!!

BK: OK, it's almost over now... It
wasn't that terrible, or was it?

ZINKO: Or was it! (Did I miss something
here?!-Wolfie.)

BK: Well, you have now got your
opportunity to write some lines of your
own will ;-)

ZINKO: Jumhops to Schmoovy-Schmoov,

Maestro are out of Kefrens, if you
shouldn't already know!!
(I told them! -Cs)
To make it all perfect I can tell
you all that Dice's middle name is
