Rush'97 - An overview RokDaZone & Madbart RUSH'97 - AN OVERVIEW by RokDaZone & Madbart/And^Apx It actually was kind of difficult to get trustworthy information about the Rush'97 party in Poland. All we did know was that there have been quite some interesting releases. Here the polish once again proves critics right that Poles keep their Scene quite for themselves and prfer isolation from the "rest" of Europe. With the help from Mad Bart/Anadune^Appendix we are at least able to give you some impressions what happened. The Rush'97 took place from the 22nd to 23rd February 1997 in the city of CZ Stochowa, Poland. The partyplace in which the organizers from Freezers (Amiga) - which are said to have died recently - and Shadows (Atari/Falcon) hosted their 300 to 400 people strong audience was a politechnic's sporthall which Mad Bart describes short and precise with "nice". Seemingly the whole popular polish Scene has been assembled and so one was able to see members from grous like Anadune^Appendix, Floppy, Dinx Project and Amnesty. sad though only from the polish Scene as Mad Bart is sure, he has seen no single foreigner which in his opinion is real "Crap." The party was fully in the hand of "alternative" systems such as Amiga, Atari XE and a few Atari/Falcon computers. Here the Scene seems to be dominated by more interesting configurations than always the uniform PC lead parties. So from this point of view, Mad Bart found it enlightening to enjoy the possibility to meet the core of the polish Scene again. FEATURES Despite the mass of cables connected, whirling into all directions, the powersupply was no problem. So was the foodsupply, according to Mad Bart, who was quite content that he at least got beer. Also the sanitarion conditions, he favoured "It all look fine! Really. Showers, toilets at good standard." The network again seemed to be disappointment and rather of rhetoric kind to attract people in the announcement. Only on PC was connected according to our correspondent at this even worked the way it should fully. "It was really crap," Mad Bart is serious to tell. SUXX OR SUCCESS? The party overall was not succesful due the lack of organization. "We had to walk 200 meters for desks!" The organizers even cancelled the Crazy Demo and the Trace competition which they announced before. Due a lack of activity the event could be described as rather boring. Low money prices in the competitions complete an unprofessional impression of the organization. "The organizers also did not make a list of all released productions or gave endresults." Mad Bart wonders. Still he ws able to give us the following results: DEMO aaaa 1. Anadune (little Floppy cooperation) 2. Floppy 3. PSB 4. Dinx Project INTRO aaaaa 1. Appendix 2. Anadune PROTRACKER COMPO aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 1. Fml/Appendix
