Time for another of those cool party
reports, suppose i`d better do this
one as it happens `cos i'll be able to
remember fuck all by the end of this
weekend!

Its 1:20 pm, this party has been going
now since 10am (though some of us have
been here much earlier than that
(Tango of DESTINY, Steinar of REVENGE.
RAIZOR of COSINE, and me).  I think
right now we have about 50 people
SUPPOSED to be here, but most of them
either haven't turned up or have
buggered off down the off-license.
And so far not a lot has happened, i`m
still not any where on the road to
getting pissed, because fuck all has
happened yet, BRUM of SLIPSTREAM has
sold me a cold pasty for 45p, about
35p overpriced if you ask me, i've
scrounged a can from EVIL C and I
STILL haven't got a fucking Monitor
for my miggy, so I suppose I`d better
thank ELRIC of Nerve Axis for use of
his A1200 (seeing as he`s a moaning
cunt and keeps complaining to me about
almost everything) [naaah, Its OK
Phil!].  Right, let's see who is here
so far... hmm, a few, most are at the
off-license purchasing large amounts
of alcoholic substances.
Fuck this i'm getting no fucking joy
from anyone round here, everybody's
fucked off down the off license and
STILL haven't returned yet and its
been ages since I started this report,
hmm, well SHADOWMAN of NERVE AXIS is
coming down here by 6pm with his A4000
tower system so some nice fucking-up
of expensive equipment to be had
there, why does ELRIC of NERVE AXIS
have such a shit external drive?  Hmm,
time to leave this report for a bit.

Its now 1:50pm and NOTHING has
happened yet, apart from ACE testing
the sound sytem and lots of people
playing DESERT STRIKE and SUPERFROG.
So far all I have seen scene wise here
is a rave demo by DIMENSION-X and the
intro by KHUL of NERVE AXIS that won
3rd place at the SUBMISSION party.  We
are still trying to decide which of
the 3 pieces of chip music by THE ZONE
to enter, but seeing as TWILIGHT of
DESIRE is entering, I think I know
he`ll win!  I still haven't seen our
A1200 intro, its supposed to be cool,
so I am waiting patiently.  YAZOO of
TOXIC still hasn't turned up, even
though he was supposed to be at DAVID
LYNCH of NERVE AXIS' house yesterday!
Right, i'm off to phone SHADOWMAN of
NERVE AXIS.

Its now 5:45, I have collected all the
Nerve Axis entries for the
competitions, shame that our
cartoontro and Munchkin's intro
weren't finished, hmm, oh well, we've
entered the A1200 compo, chip music,
and put 2 entries into the music
competition, plus DR KAYA (our Italian
GFX artist) has got a nice picture
finished that we are entering into the
GFX compo.

Quick summary of the party so far, not
so cool i`m afraid!  Sorry Tango,
youv'e done a fucking good job getting
this party running on your own, but so
far all i've done is talk to CATH and
2-COOL of LSD and  watch DIMENSION-X's
new rave dentro (RETINA BURN ONE,
nice!) and watch EVERYBODY play
fucking desert strike!  Well, the
competitions start soon and SHADOWMAN
better turn up soon.

Our AGA intro was pretty cool, but of
course CATH ran through it in two
seconds yelling out all the places he
could have optimized it.  I've finally
got a look at KHUL's intro (the one
from the SUBMISSION party).  KENTOM of
NVX is now getting his camera out to
take some more photos.  Also YAZOO of
TOXIC has turned up.  KENTOM has just
run up to me to tell me that CATH of
LSD has just single-filed the
SUPERFROG crack intro in 2 minutes
without an action replay.  Hmm, what
happened to the disk-throwing
competition Tango?  Everybody is just
about finished filling in their VOODOO
DESIGN UK CHARTS voting forms.  EVIL C
has just decided to tell me that the
disk-throwing is at 2am tomorrow
morning!

The competitions start soon, time for
the moment of truth!  HMM, there seems
to be some strange practises going on
with these voting forms, joining other
groups for 10 minutes just to fill in
an extra voting form!  Dunno how many
people are here now, maybe close to
about 50ish, not a big party by any
standards, but its nice when you know
all the people here.  TDK of MELON
DESIGN couldn't get down though,
Typical.  Judging by what's been
flashing up on monitors though there
is some nice stuff being released
here.

6:05, no sign of the competitions.
This is turning out to be as boring as
the DIGITAL party if Tango  doesn't do
something quick.  The competitions are
about to start.

8:35 now, MAD OTTO and SHADOWMAN have
both turned up, wow, OTTO is BIG!  The
competitions have been run now, we
entered the music competition, the
chip music competition, the GFX
competition and the AGA only
competition.  DIMENSION X have already
won the megademo competition with
their rave dentro RETINA BURN ONE, by
CYLON of DIMENSION X, Its a pretty
damn cool rave demo, nice music and
interesting pics.  They have won by
default because no other group
entered!  We have already won the AGA
competition with our intro IMPOSSIBLE
CUBE by ROMBUST of Nerve Axis.  Its
really all a matter of the music, chip
music and GFX competitions now, the
40K intro competition has been
cancelled due to no entries (wish ours
had been finished or we'd have won
that too!).

We chose a picture by DR.KAYA (our
Italian GFX artist) and its pretty
sexy!  My personal vote for number one
is a picture by ORCSLAYER of REVENGE,
a well cool Chaos skull, check out
this guys work, he is one of the UK's
best GFX artists!

Suppose I should mention that the
voting system is a nice open one,
everybody votes!

I've met a good few people so far,
some guys I trade with and a few
members of my group i've never seen
before.  Everbody is going crazy with
the cameras now, looks like there is
going to be a good few party
slideshows of this one, FUCK!  People
will know what a slapper I look like!
The voting results should be coming
through soon.  I've just had another
"discussion" about Amiga scene vs PC
scene.  Here's my piece to you all,
the scene is all about people, its not
the hardware, its the people, when all
the cool guys like RED DEVIl, SKIN +
AMBLIN, SPLATT! and all the rest, the
guys who brought this scene through
the last few years, when they go to
PC, then I will too, the scene is all
about people, if we all had Spectrums
it would make no difference, its the
people that matter, not the machine.

Shadowmman has given me a free printer
cable, pity it not a bloody centronics
adapter!

Futura have got an intro finished for
the compo, hmm, looks like they win
that one!

Hmm, i've just realized, I haven't
drunk anything alcoholic in hours, in
fact i've just drunk some lemonade
(uurgh!) but it was free from BRUM of
SLIPSTREAM, so I cant complain!

Its 4:25 am.  Some serious shit has
been happening now, i've been talking
to 8-BALL of ECLIPSE (this man is
fucking stoned, like totally nuked!).
He still has enough shit in him to
O.D. an elephant!  He Finally crashed
out in the side room about an hour ago
and hasn't been seen since.  ST.M of
Eclipse has already hurled all over
the hall doorstep, so 8-BALL has
threatened to kick him out of ECLIPSE
for being a tit!  SCREWLOOSE, MEGAWOG
and Q of NVX (and me) have all just
returned from a trip to a 24-hour
petrol station to get some film to
take a photo of EVIL C of NERVE AXIS,
who is asleep right now and looks a
total tit!  Most people are now
asleep, but i've had so much fucking
caffeine I couldn't sleep for a month!
CLANSMAN and ELRIC are playing
SUPERFROG next to me with ALL the
cheat modes on! sad people!

The results of the competitions are
going to be announced tomorrow says
TANGO, should be good, But everyone
knows that TWILIGHT of DESIRE will win
all the music competitions! Hmm, this
party doesn't want to end until Monday
morning it seems by popular consensus,
HMM, don't know whether anyone will
last that long though!  8-BALL of
ECLIPSE has promised me an interview
for AMNESIA magazine, fame at last!

Party rating so far: At the start it
was a little bit shite, everyone
keeping to themselves and sorting out
their compo entries, not much fun.
After the competitions though everyone
started talking and the dope/booze/
pasties started flowing freely (mainly
due to RAIZOR throwing the fuckers at
me!).  Had a fun walk out with the
ECLIPSE guys, talked to THE WELDER of
FUTURA a bit (yes, I KNOW I am a crap
coder and intuition is cool!  I just
love utils, there's no way I could be
a demo coder!).  Overall its better
than the DIGITAL party, we all know
each other roughly, so its not like
the DTL party where you knew almost
no-one!

6:05am. Almost EVERYONE is asleep now,
most of the people who were here
yesterday have already pissed off and
If I can be arsed I might even be
bothered to find out who is still
here (not that many now, about 20
peeps).  You want to see the amount of
fucking cans lying around here, the
floor is littered with lager cans and
pastie crust!

There, finally cleaned up my mouse
after some fucker wrote SLAP UK on it
in permanent marker!  THE WELDER of
FUTURA and TWILIGHT of DESIRE are
rooting through TANGO's Hard drive
listening to all his module
collection.

Hmm, to be quite honest, this hasn't
really been a "proper" scene party, it
was invite only, so we knew exactly
who was coming today and only about 50
people turned up, not a "real" scene
party, it has been more a gathering of
friends, basically everyone in here
swaps with someone else here, who
swaps with someone else here, who
swap, you get my point, but its been
nice to meet some of our people and
i've made a few new friends here as
well today and yesterday, so its been
OK, but i've spent 20 quid so far and
payed for fuck all of the food/drink
i've had (which, to be quite honest,
wasn't a lot, tomorrow I use this
tenner to good effect in getting very
nuked).

Ieah, it hasn't been a "scene" party
really, it has just been a computer
party of friends really, but Tango has
done a fucking good job organizing
this party, its a shame the first 8
hours were pretty boring and the
competitions weren't wonderfully well-
entered (only one entry to the demo
and AGA competitions and none at all
to the 40K intro competition!  If you
don't try to compare this party to
something like Quartz summer
conference or Digital Symposium, then
it rates fairly highly, i've had more
fun here than I did at DTL anyway!

Last entry: Its 3:10 pm on Sunday, i'm
back home, we left early as almost
everyone else had gone, except the
ECLIPSE guys and TANGO, TWILIGHT and
GIZ.

after the party, but it was much more

it is slightly less intelligible
because of it!  As a final word, we
got totally lost on the way home in
MEGAWOG's car and we nearly visited
SAREK of NERVE AXIS, but couldn't find
our way, so we, erm, didn't!

fun while it lasted!
