Hi there! Here's da best alcoholic swapper writing an article for diz cool
mag. So, Vodka of The Special Brothers (yes, that's me !) is on da keys now and
I'll talk you 'bout my travel to Holland this summer for the White Label party,
which was named `Somewhere in Holland`. In fact, that was my first party
outside France (where I live, for those who didn't know me!) and I really hoped
that it'd be a great party, where I could meet lots of my contacts (I think
that everybody hopes so when he goes to a party, doesn't he?). Ok, I'll now
describe you all my trip from France, at the party and then my return to
France.

I was very exciting before going to Holland. I had all prepared : I had got
my train's tickets, some foods and drinks for the travel and the party, lots of
disks, some paper, a pen...and I had even drawn a big TsB logo on a t-shirt! I
was just waiting for the time I'll leave my home and start this great week-end
in Holland. So, it was time now. I took a local train in order to go to
Paris, where I'll take a night-train for Rotterdam (I just live at 30kms south
from Paris). I arrived now at the North Railway-Station, in Paris, and I had
to wait about one hour before the train go. It left Paris at 23:30 and I
arrived in Rotterdam at 7:00. Nothing special during this night. I tried to
sleep a bit, but that wasn't very easy 'coz I was sitting. Ahhhh... I was yet
at Rotterdam. I had to buy a ticket in order to go to Nijmegen, the party
place, and that's also by train. I bought a double ticket, for going and
coming back, and I waited about half an hour for the good train. But this
wasn't a direct-train and I had to change of train at another station. Then, I
took another train and I arrived at Nijmegen at 10:00 (still the morning, not
yet the night!). I asked some people at a bus-stop in order to reach the party
place. One can hopefully give me the right way, and I went there. All right!
I found it really easily.
I entered in and I found some organisers, but they said that the party
hasn't begun yet and that I had to wait for 12:00. Another guy from Amsterdam
also arrived and we decided to go in the town in order to drink something
before the party begins. At 11:00, we came back just in front of the party
place. Some others guys was just arriving now, too. I started to talk with
Zinkfloid of TRSI : he said that he was comming from Austria with Negativ/TRSI
and Slayer/Scoopex (who's even comming from Finland). Yeah! A guy from
Finland.... Really great! He also said that he made lots of parties all over
Europe during this summer, that Slayer is preparing Mental Hangover II for The
Party III, with lots of kwel and new effects, that the illegal section section
of TRSI is just cracking Turrican III and that they will maybe bring it to the
party.... And some others things that I don't remember. I also talked with
Cubik/Trance Inc., who's the headquarter of Trance Inc. And now was arriving
Wizard of Infect, my good friend who helped me for going to this party (really
thanx, mate!) with his friend Poison/Cyanide. Well, the party was opening now.
I paid the entrance fee and discovered that the party room was not as big as I
had expected to.
Anyway, more and more people was comming and installing themselves. I put
the t-shirt I had dramn on and I began to look who were all those guys. During
all the day, I just looked who was there and spoke with my contacts. In no
order, I saw : Dope / White Label, Nao and Facet / Lemon., Radavi and Msw /
Effect, Cloud / Desire, Flynn and The Collector / Trance, Protec / Mirage...
But I know that there was also some guys from Legend, Jetset and some others
that I didn't know. During this first day, I also went to the central-town
with Poison / Cyanide, where I bought some postcards for my friends and my
family, and I copied the new ChitChat and some others intros. At the evening,
we saw a movie with Schwarzeneger on the big screen (I don't know the original
name, but in french that's something like `a cop in the little -school`. Do ya
see what I mean? (Yes, Kindergarden Cop - Ed). So, the night begun and I
didn't do anything special, except of playing with Pinball Dreams and
-Fantasies and going in the central-town for eating a bit). At 0:30, Alien 3
had been watched on the big screen. I started to watch it but I slept after
some minutes! Yes, I was a bit tired 'coz I hadn't really sleep the night
before, in the train.
I really woke up at 9:00. My friends in Trance and TRSI had left the
party during the night. A mate let me use his A1200 in order to make the
second issue of my pack (Pack It Up!) with the intros I had copied the first
day. Wizard and Poison also left the party now. I got to the town at 12:00
for eating. Unlike the day before, there wasn't lots of people in the streets.
The competitions begun at 14:30. First the music competition : we heard about
21 modules, lots of them were techno ones but there wasn't really some very
good modules. The ones I prefered are : Heaven by Fabian/Desire, Power of
three by 911/Movement, Reflections 3 by Greenhouse/Legend. So, after that was
the gfx-compo : only 5 pictures but good qualities. My prefered : D-Mage/VD+
Fashion/Stb and Facet/Lemon. And then we finished with the demo competition :
a little intro by Trance Inc., a techno musicdisk by The Raven in 2 disks, the
intro for ChitChat #10 by Mirage, and, the last but not the least, a trackmo by
Perseus, which is a subgroup of Infocorner (I didn't know this dutch group).
After the competitions, the most of the people left the party. Just about 30
guys stayed for the results. Here they are : Nao/Lemon. for the music,
Facet/ Lemon. for the gfx and Perseus for the demo competition. And after the
results was given, all the others guys left the party one per one (it was about
18:00). I would like to make another pack with some modules'n gfx from the
party, and I had also to make lots of copy in order to answer to my contacts.
But I was the only one who stay here with the organisers. But I had to wait
anyway 'coz my train for France was also the night-train. I bought a mouse at
the little shop in the party place. Yes, I really needed one 'coz I had still
the original A500 one. And they offered me a t-shirt of the party (really
thanx, Dope!). So, I waited until 20:00 and I went to the railway station of
Nijmegen. A took a direct train for Rotterdam, but during this travel the
ticket inspector told me that mine was valid only for one day, even if it's for
going and coming back, so I had to pay another one. After that, no more dutch
money left. Then I arrived at Rotterdam and I had again to wait for my train
to Paris, about one and half hour. During this time, I talked with a french
dude, who had been stolen near the Rotterdam Railway-Station and he hadn't no
money and no identity papers. This time, I sleep realy good in the train 'coz
I had reserved a couchette. In the train, there was also a nice dutch girl
(Hmm...Hmm...). I arrived in Paris at 7:00, and I had to wait about one and
half hour before taking another train in order to join my parents and my
sister, who were on holidays in a west area of France. And finally I arrived
there at 12:00. Yeah! What a nice week-end, and Holland is really nice! If
you can, try to go there. And the dutch girls are so nice! Hmm...Hmm...
