Interview with Turbo/INFECT done by Steve 3003/SILICON DESIGNS ST: Hello Turbo! Tell us something obout the Groups you worked before you joined Infect! T: Hello Steve! I've started in a small (very small) and unknown group called Cruelty. After working one year in this group I've joined Infect. ST: And what is your job now in Infect ? T: I'm one of the coders of Infect, but I'm working more as Util-coder than an Demo-Intro coder. U will understand, that coding of Exotic can be a full-time job for your whole life :-) ST: When did you get into computing ? It was some years ago, in the old GDR. The first computer I've seen, was an KC85/3 made in GDR. For all the people, who don't know this fucking 8Bit Z80 machine - it was just a computer like the ZX Spectrum, but still somtimes better (sometimes). ST: How did you learn Assembler ? I've started on the KC in BASIC and Pascal and then I begun to learn Z80-assembly language. 1989 I've got an Commo VC20 and it was still a great progress in my life. I've started to learn 6502/6510 assembly-language, but then was the reunion from germany and I've invested my first DM in an A500 (first I would buy an ATARI ST :-(. After playing many months I've started to learn the great 68000 assembly-language, the first weeks were the pure horror, coz all opcodes and so on were totally new on 16Bit. Now I work only under assembly-language (exept BASIC for calculating SineTables :-) ST: What Hardware are you using ? T: A500 with 1MB Chip 8MB Fast, Oktagon508 + 105MB Quantum, Kick1.3/2.0 +MK II & A1200 with 2MB Chip 0MB Fast (arrgghh!), 120MB Conner, Kick3.0 (Yeah!), Mitsubishi EUM-1491A MultiSync, Hanseatic mp150-printer, 2nd drive. ST: When did you start coding the ExoticRipper ? T: It was in the middle of 1992. In the first release it should be only a ripper for MED modules. ST: Do you have any hobbies, except Computer ? T: Yes. Partys, reading books written by Stephen King and listening Techno- music. ST: Please tell us you favourite Game, Demo, Movie, Drink, fucking-position, Dope, Musican, Gfx-dude, Coder, Party, BBS, Mag and Tool (Wow! That's much!). T: favorite game: Speedball2 favorite demo: Human Target favorite movie: I like all good horror-stuff favorite coder: puh! there are to many really good coders on the amiga. It's impossible to say only one or two names. favorite drink: Warsteiner beer!! fucking-position: Show me yours and I'll give you my best position. favorite dope: Nothing except good black coffee and many cigarettes favorite musician:Beethoven/Hobbes/Infect, S.L.L/Kefrens and Ron Klaren favorite Gfx-dude:Spiv/Infect and Peachy/TRSI favorite Party: The Party II was real the best, i've ever seen favorite BBS: What should I say? I've no modem to test out some BBS. favorite Mag: Stolen Data favorite tool: EXOTIC ripper!!! ST: Any Plans for the future ? T: Oh Yes! Favorite plans are coding of Exotic10.00 (hehe) and make some other funny utils like an very!! good copper disassembler+ an copper paint proggy and to make a good english course :-) ST: What Functions will be included in the next update of the ExoticRipper ? T: Many new Module-formats ->current counter is 44, replay-support (the time is come), may an decrunch-support (I hope) dramatically speeded up hunt- routines. May I'll try to include (especially for coders) an new kind of replayer finder. This routine will check up your memory for mostly used replayer op-codes and so on, e.g op-codes like lea $DFF0A0,Ax and so... ST: Ever had any Problems with the cops ?? T: Not in connection with computers. God beware me (amen, amen, amen :-) ST: What to you think about the Scene nowadays ? T: I think in the age of modem-trading, 0 days-wares and all this things the real friendship is more and more going down. So I'm really happy above all my MAIL-contacts (like you Steve :-). I like long and funny letters more than a small text on the BBS. ST: There are some releases by Infect including many Viruses, do you know how they got onto the Disks ? Or are those releases modified by some lame asses ? T: You mean some issues from Utility Dreams? Yes, it's really shit with this fucking viruses. I don't know, who put this crap on our pack, except an release, which was INFECTed with the shit Snoopdos1.6-virus, coz our viruskiller was not the latest version and he was not able to find this piece. I'll apologize in the name of all Infect-members for this. Don't think, our group-name is Infect and so all releases must be Infected!!! ST: Thx for this interview, keep up the good work! Now there is some space left for some personal greets/messages ... T: Okay first thx to you Steve for this interview and for your nice (hehe) letters. Also greetings to all IFT-members and all others I know. Messy to all peoples, waiting longer for some letters. Sorry, but I was very ill the last weeks and also I must code something on Exotic, coz to the Cebit it must be finished!!!…
