The Laws of Sound
As you perhaps already has discovered, the
kernel lies within the samples of the modules.
Nothing else, and nothing more! These samples
gives an unique atmospherical sound, that we on
purpose had created from the beginning of
Sound`s birth! This is the clear concept of
Sound, and this will never get altered -So you
better get use to it, or switch to another mu-
sic channel!
You are admitted to forward as many modules
as you want, but only two modules per musician
will get published as a maximum in each issue.
Who select these modules? The mananger of
Sound... Christine, with a sometime clear wish
from the rest of the Spoon team.
When you send your module - It shouldn`t
combine any chip samples what so ever, or at
least it shouldn`t peak right into our ears!
We simply dislike that ugly sound! You can
possibly choose your own tempo, as Sound works
with CIA timing. A module should NOT enclose
more than 80 Kb, and that means UNPACKED of-
course! Remember to check your mods in the ne-
west Player and fill out the "Question Sheet",
before you actually send! If this Q-Sheet aint
included, we will not include your module, no
matter how good it is!
Do not use Dxx (pattern break) in Protracker
as The Player do NOT co-op with this effect!!!

The Schedule of Sound Features
As much appreciated from a lot of musician,
we try to tip toe trough a broad fan of music
styles. Each Sound issue has a special selec-
ted feature. Last time we had Trance on the
program, this Sound features "Touch", but what
is up for the next couple of Sound issues?
Sound #5 will feature "Folk Music". "Argh!",
you probably say, but what to be more fun than
listening to Scotch Bagpipe music, Tennessees
Mouth organ, African Samba, Norwegian Folk mu-
sic or Indian traditional, or what ever you
would find amusing experimenting with?!?
Sound #6 will become Total Techno, whereas
it is up to you what style of techno you want
to compose... Sound #7 is the last genre this
time. It`ll feature Rock & Blues music, so
all you guitar freaks will have a chance
listening to the blue strings...
If you have a suggestion for a feature, that
you would like to see in Sound, you are very
welcome to come forth and tell us about your
wishes!

People has asked us how it is possible to
make the most accurate vote sheet for the
Sound Hits. It seems as people has a problem
figuring out how to vote, when there is more
than 40 modules to choose between. It worries
them looking ahead, seeing that more mods will
arrive in the near future, and therefor there
will be even more mods to choose between. But,
Hey! That is no problem...
You simply gotta pick the 3 best choices
from da last issues. Forward these to the next
issue, where you select the new entries, while
you have your 3 favourit modules in mind from
last time. Thereby you`ll gain the most accu-
rate vote sheet.

EXTINCTION Trance
Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark
Duration ........................ 2.43 minutes
Lenght ......................... 120.000 bytes
Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f06
Samples ................................... 08
This is the most groovy, futuristic, vibrant
sound without no real beat, we have ever come
across. This is definitely the best module
launcher for Sound 4 "Touch", that we can ever
imagine.
Last note:
Turn up the volume and feel the vibes!
BATTLEFIELDS Hymn
Composer ............ Don-Cato///Frumps/Norway
Duration ........................ 1.40 minutes
Lenght .......................... 74.786 bytes
Tempo .. 125 bpm, f05, f01, f02, f03, f04, f0A
Samples ................................... 09
This tune was composed during some sort of
depression. For me, that is a way to express
myself. Other... you might picture a hero that
returns home from war with great victory! His
eyes are glancing, and proudly he tells his
children how he fought through the war...
A touch by Don-Cato
DIVING Ballade
Composer ............ The Loop/Artwork/Germany
Duration ............... (Looped) 1.12 minutes
Lenght .......................... 79.958 bytes
Tempo ................. 125 bpm, f02, f03, f04
Samples ................................... 12
While I composed this music, I had in mind
diving under water to a fantastic blue world.
It is no real style, I simply composed what
came into mind when picturing this world.
It is no innovative slow music, but I think it
is great to relax to...
A touch from The Loop
SIMPLE GUITARS Slow Pop
Composer ........... Grim Reaper/Nivel 7/Spain
Duration ........................ 3.06 minutes
Lenght .......................... 47.604 bytes
Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f09
Samples ................................... 08
We are honoured to introduce to you our
first Spanish entry!! Grim Reaper has chosen
to enlight our lifes with a down to earth gui-
tar mod wich doesn`t fancy all those sometimes
vulgar effects. It is a real warming piece of
guitar muzak with a touch of hymn in it!
ZOETROPE Synth
Composer .......................... Maz/Sweden
Duration ........................ 5.53 minutes
Lenght .......................... 79.992 bytes
Tempo ............................... f04, f70
Samples ................................... 13
Maz calls this module for a: "Strange sound-
ing piece of music", we would rather call it
unique and incredible well composed. A great
module presumably Maz´greatest in Sound regie!
Maz had a hard time figuring out the genre for
this module... So did we!!! But something in
between Synth of newer date and a trance alike
hymn, wouldn`t be off the road, we guess!?
SOUND ORGAN Interlude
Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark
Duration ........................ 1.12 minutes
Lenght .......................... 28.000 bytes
Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f06
Samples ................................... 06
This time we managed only to get one single
interlude for Sound 4. Fortunately this is
also in the scale of better quality!!! To com-
pose interludes is really hard. A fine line
goes between something musical, yet no real
difinition with a song can or must be made...
Maybe YOU are the next interlude expert ? ? ?
THE CRYING ANGEL Piano Theme
Composer ............ Sonic/Nerve Axis/England
Duration ............... (Looped) 1.42 minutes
Lenght .......................... 78.234 bytes
Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f05
Samples ................................... 03
With only 3 piano samples Sonic teaches us
how angels really cry!! We sincerely thinks
this paino theme beats many willing tries on
something similar - Yet we usually talks about
modules with a calibre of more than 200 K`s!!
JUST A TOUCH Ballade
Composer .......................... Maz/Sweden
Duration ........................ 6.54 minutes
Lenght .......................... 78.614 bytes
Tempo .............................. f36 & f6D
Samples ................................... 11
It is easy to picture this song as a sound-
track to a very uplifting drama film. This is
such a happy song really!! With great samples,
and with a really interesting drum choice, we
have here another success!!
TIME TO GREAVE Hymn/Ballade
Composer ............ Don-Cato///Frumps/Norway
Duration ........................ 2.07 minutes
Lenght .......................... 80.000 bytes
Tempo ........... 125 bpm, f09, f01, f06 & f04
Samples ................................... 11
I pictured a fairly young widdow at her
beloved`s tombstone. Thinking of all the
great and happy stories.. thinking also of all
the sad and hopeless moments of struggle for
existence she had to go through, through all
her life...
A touch from Don-Cato
MYSTICISM OF LIFE Piano Theme
Composer ............... Jukebox/Talent/Norway
Duration ........................ 2.37 minutes
Lenght .......................... 50.000 bytes
Tempo ........................... 125 bpm, f06
Samples ................................... 04
A magic spell of mysticism is about to enter
life. Life of nature, life of the human kind!
"Mysticism of life" is really a magic spell, a
piano theme, well composed by Jukebox.
RETURN 2 NATURE Pan Theme
Composer .............. Subsonic/Spoon/Denmark
Duration ........................ 4.36 minutes
Lenght .......................... 58.000 bytes
Tempo ................. 125 bpm, f0C, f06, f18
Samples ...................................
The pan has always been in peoples heart,
and so has Subsonic chosen to give us a clear
in-sight of how the South American Indians re-
ally play this fab instrument. A real "return
to the nature" experience, is what this is
about!!
FIRST PLACE with DREAM SEQUENCE Trance
Composer ............ Sonic/Nerve Axis/England
Duration ........................ 2.30 minutes
Lenght .......................... 79.508 bytes
Tempo ........................... 140 bpm, f03
Samples ................................... 09
Dream Sequence has been on everyones brain &
in everyones heart. So has more than 80 per-
cent of this issues voters awarded DS a quali-
fied first place. "Dream Sequence - A todays
dance track with a step stone to a fantastic
trance world." We believe that this is why

congratulations with your first place Sonic!
SECOND PLACE with FALL-BACK Hardcore Trance
Composer .......................... Maz/Sweden
Duration ........................ 5.27 minutes
Length .......................... 43.000 bytes
Tempo ........................... 164 bpm, f06
Samples ................................... 11
On a strong second place we spot Maz once
again - this time with a new module ofcourse!!
Fall-back has everything a trance freak would
desire. A real wall to wall uplifting, boos-
ting, and trancing module. A real masterpiece
in Sound regie!! Congratulations with your se-
cond second place module Maz!

Samples ................................... 09
Our Celebration track Dark Trance, managed
to top the most! A solid third place to Subso-
nic. With this third placed module we are in-
troduced to a different way of making trance -
A few masters this type of trance, and we feel
Subsonic is one of the few. This mod wraps up
the batch of varied trance of today! A better
batch - we can`t get! Congrats to you too, Sub
