I N T E R V I E W W I T H × S T G / T A L E N T ! ! × ------------------------------------- Here we present an interview with the man behind the Q.E.D.× demo from TALENT. The demo was given an fourth place at demo-comp. at the TG'93. This interview, a crazy one really, was done by BCR/Stone Arts on the 8.june 1993. BCR:×Ok, could you please introduce yourself and your group? STG:×Very original BCR!! Well, I am 19 years old, and I'm one of the founders of TALENT. (It was Jukebox and I who started this group, some years ago). I am also a coder , and I have been coding for 3 1/2 years now. BCR:×Right. There's probably some guys out there who haven't heard so much about Talent. Could you tell us a bit about the group? STG:×Do you really think so???? Hmm, strange, but if there really are people out there that didn't notice that we're the only group that have gotten an incredible 12.9% in RAW× (thanks COCY), then maybe I should have a little history lesson for you. Well, it started some years ago. In 1991 actually. During the sommer vacation Jukebox and I left SHADE× (have anyone heard of Shade???),and we decided to found a new group, which we called Talent. Anyway, we released a shitty demo, which was slaughtered in RAW, but I won 50 disks in the demo competition in ARENDAL×, so I was happy anyway (pretty good payment for such a lame demo!) After that we've become a bigger group (we were just 4 in the beginning), and we've released some intros now and then. During 1992 we worked on a little trackmo, which is now released under the name of Q.E.D. (Hi,Andromeda). Q.E.D.× was by the way, our contribution to the demo competition at the GATHERING 93×. BCR:×Well, can you reveal some of the plans TALENT× has for the future, future releases etc.? STG:NECROLOGIC/TLN× is working on a musicdisk, called Premiere. It will contain music from all our musicians, and the graphics are all drawm by (kjott)MACE×. Necro is probably going to compete in the intro competition in KRISTIANSAND×. The only problem is that there is no competition there, but NECRO× don't care (he can compete with himself),and remember he IS necrofil (and he is not a pervert, he just look like one (he,he))!! Apart from that, I am working on a tiny-mini-demo-intro,which will hopefully be released sometime between 30. july and 1. august (Who said anything about RENDEVOUZ 93?×) BCR:×Could you tell us the amount of members in TALENT×, and if you are going to grow into an even bigger group? STG:×We're 16 members at the time being, but I really don't know if we're going to grow. If any TALENTED× people contact us, there is always room for more. (You can't have enough TALENT, ehh!?!) BCR:×How is your group build up? I'm thinking about the amount of coders, graphicians, musicians, etc.. What do you think is the most important thing to have in a good group? STG:×Talent consists of: 33%× coders 33%× musicians 33%× graphicians 1%× swappers 3.5% of the members are necrofils (Who said i wasn't a lier???) I think that friendship is the most important thing to have in a group. BCR:×Hmmm.... What do you think of the scene here in NORWAY× today? STG:×I hate it!!!!! No, seriously it is quite nice. Most of the people are nice and there are a lot of good groups. But I really don't think it is very much different from the scene elsewhere in EUROPE× (except for SPAIN, ITALY, GREECE, GERMANY and all the other contries below DENMARK). BCR:×You say there are a numerous of good groups here, could you tell the rest of the world some of your fave groups, coders, graphicians, musicians, demos etc..... STG:×I really don't have any favourite groups, coders etc. I mean, they all have their different style, and it is different to compare. But I can say that ANDROMEDA has a very good soccer team. BCR:TALENT× also won the soccer compo. at the gathering'93, how did you manage this? Years of hard training, I bet?? STG:×We have been training ever since 1991, and I must admit that we have stolen some of the ideas that DRILLO× use. For example we use a 9-0-1 (in Lillestrom we had to convert it to 4-0-1,of course) system, which means that everyone is helping the goal keeper, while one lonely guy tries to get a goal or two. This way the matches normaly end 0-0, and we have the chance to win the penalty compo. Quite easy really, it is much the same system as ARGETINA× (remember Maradonna?) used some years ago in VM in ITALY (or wherever it was). Well, seriously we needed a helping hand (thanks HEIN og mannen med bla bukser). And in the final, we won 5-2 over ANDROMEDA. I don't know how the guys (OLP, MACE, MR. Z, HEIN og blabukse mannen), managed that as I were eating chicken at that time (by the way it was chicken chop suey, and it was like heaven compared to the 5 pizzas we ate after the fotball compo). (continues on next page...)× (continued from last page...)× BCR:×Well, well, on from one subject to another, would you say that the scene was a better place in the 'old days', or do you like it as it is nowadays...? STG:×Well, I didn't like the scene in 1944. People were to inactive. And good old Jon (yes, JON× THE LEGEND you all have heard about), was only cracking german codes. Boring I think, but it became better when ELIZA came and gave us all a laugh!! (If you haven't heard about ELIZA,buy DATABLADET×) I believe this answers your question, or what BCR??? BCR:×Oh boy, you really have been around the scene for a long time. I guess we don't think upon the OLD DAYS, as the same. Uhmm.. Well, I hear that you also are writing some articles for the Norwegian Paper-Mag; DATABLADET, perhaps your ambitions in life is to become a BIG and famous Computer-Journalist?? STG:×You must check out your sources better next time!!! I have never ever written a single word for any norwegian paper-mag. Maybe you're mixing me and my brother!! BCR:×Brother??? Hmmm, didn't know you had one... Well, I seem to be running out of questions, so I'll just leave you some lines here at the end.... STG:×Yes, at last I have the possibility to write whatever I want!! Yupppie! First I would like to greet some of my friends: JUKEBOX-At last you've managed to finish a demosong a long time before the release date!! It is much better to work this way, isn't it? The new song is fab, and I think it is your best demo song ever. Keep it up, and I hope we can work together in the future, as well! MACE-I have a sent your address to a lot of new guys from KRISTIANSUND. Always fun to get new friends is it?? Hehohihahe! NECRO-I have some "nice" pictures of ya. You will have the chance to see them in KRISTIANSAND! OLP-nice meeting you in Lillestrom! DJENGIS-You're really lazy nowadays! Anyway, it was very nice meeting you too, but please try to make som new music!! Well, I can't fill up this mag with booring greetings, so I'll just end this with a little norwegian bevis!! BANANTRAER hopper!!× Penger vokser ikke pa trar!! Siden penger er alt her i livet ma jo bananene hoppe opp for a sole seg i trarne. STG:×Hmm? What? Zzzzzzzz...×
