Interview w i t h Vampire o f D A I Arranged by Mop of ALCATRAZ From this issue, there will be another new feature in McDisk! Each time, we will try our best, to include an interview with an active scene girl. Mind you, I wrote active scene girl, and not just normal girls who maybe, accidentally own an Amiga. Surprisingly, Malta is full of girls who own an Amiga, but don't care too much about it, or use it for playing games or to help killing the long winter afternoons! But I don't want to fill this nice diskmag with such crap interviews! We know that this is not an absolutely new idea of making interviews, so please don't accuse us of copying you! Also, as you know, there aren't so many active scene girls out there, so please, if you are a girl, or maybe have a female member in your group, then please let us know, by writing to McDisk! We will then contact you for a nice interview! This time, we bring you an interview with Vampire. Of course she's a girl (and not a blood sucking creature!), and also involved in our scene! She lives in Finland, and she has recently joined D.A.I., after being a member of Altair for some time... MD: Hi Vampire! Please introduce yourself to our fellow readers, and if possible, give us some detailed information on yourself? VA: Big hellos to you all! So, my real name is Sanna. I'm 16 years old (or young). What's detailed information? Well, I have blue eyes, looooooong fair hair... and of course (?) I'm a girl. About my hobbies... I like drawing, reading, watching movies, using my computers (really?), role games, writing letters, collecting all kind of more or less stupid things and of course listening to music. About my scene work then... I'm mainly a swapper and GFX artist. I've also done some musics too, but I'm afraid that they can damage your ears. I'm also very interested in coding, but I'm not able to do anything. Maybe because I'm too lazy to learn? OK, hope that's enough... MD: As you know, it is very unusual that a girl gets interested in computers, so would you mind writing down something about your introduction to the world of computers? VA: Aaaaah... It's a VERY long story. Where should I start... At first, many many years ago, my father brought home a C64 from the school he's working at... I liked it and learned some little things (how to use it and so on). After a while we bought a disk drive (the mega fast 1541, of course, hehe!) and I looked for some lame contacts (as lame as I was then!). I also had some friends who helped me and copied me all the nice stuff. Then my father bought a PC. I got interested in it too. Those same friends of mine also had a PC. They helped me again! I used then, both the C64 and a PC. In February 1991 I bought my Amiga. I never had seriously thought to buy an Amiga, but then I just went to a shop and bought it. Of course I've always wanted to have it. I stopped my C64 activities then. During the next 6-7 months I mostly played games and had some lame contacts. I've always liked demos and all that kind of stuff, so I collected some demos and tried to find out what the scene was! Of course I couldn't get any cool contacts then because I didn't have any new stuff. And then... I learned much more about the scene and got finally better contacts. Well, here I am now! This story is so long and boring so I won't be more specific. MD: You've been also active in the C64 scene. What do you think is the difference between the C64 and the Amiga scene? VA: Hard question. (I've now thought about it for 10 minutes!) Of course the demo scene is much bigger/better on the Amiga, but who can do as cool C64 demos as Amiga demos? There is no friendship in the C64 scene (even then wasn't when I was active!), so swapping was quite boring. The C64 scene is much more based on pure game swapping. Well, now I don't know what to write any more! MD: Did you know any other girls on the C64? VA: Well, well, I knew one. Her name's also Sanna. I think she didn't take her hobby very seriously. And she has a little brother, so I think that she never bought the C64 herself. MD: Why did you choose the mythic name, Vampire? Do you think that pseudonyms are really necessary? VA: I just couldn't find a better one. I looked in my dictionary and found it! Good way to choose a name... Well, I like all horror things like movies. That's maybe one reason. I think that it's nice to have these pseudonyms. Then everyone can choose the name they like (No, parents doesn't choose them, hehe!). Well, it isn't still the same which name you use... It doesn't feel the same. If I know someone's real name, it's more familiar than Coolguy/Bestgroup. MD: So, what's the best horror movie you've ever seen? VA: I can't say what's best, but I can tell you which I like the most. For example Poltergeist I & II (I haven't seen the 3rd part), Christine, It... MD: Do you think that if you weren't a girl, you would still be accepted in your group? VA: I don't know. It's quite impossible to know. There's always the possibility I would, or wouldn't... MD: If maybe, one day, there would come a group, which consists of only girls, and they would offer you to join up, what would be your answer? VA: Well, I don't know this either. Maybe I would join, but of course I should first think if the group is good or not. Almost in the same way like joining other groups! It's so hard to think what I would answer, because it's not the reality now... MD: Do you know or are you in contact with any other active girls in the scene? VA: No, I'm not in contact with any other active girls, but I know some. I'm always interested, if you other girls could contact me!!! MD: What do you think about the fact there there aren't so much girls in the Amiga scene? VA: Yeah... There really aren't many girls in the scene. I think it would be nice if there were more, but in some reason girls are just not as interested in computers as boys. There is always something missing when there's no girl. Is it some kind of girl touch? MD: What's the opinion of your other girl friends about your unusual hobby? VA: My girl friends doesn't know very much about my hobby. They just know that I swap, they don't know anything about the scene or this kind of things. It seems that they don't know it's very unusual, so, they don't think it's strange. Anyway, they don't even care... And I don't care what they think. MD: Maybe you have heard of Patsy/Brainstorm. She fell in love with another Brainstorm member, but unfortunately things went wrong, and she left the group sometime after. What would you do in such a critical situation? VA: Yes, I've heard of Patsy. This is again one of those questions I don't know the answer for. It could be that I also leave the group. If the boy was some leader or someone I should have to keep in touch with very often, I think that I would leave the group... MD: Someone once said, that girls in the Amiga scene, are only capable of doing some GFX and being swappers, only because these jobs are very easy. What do you think about all this? VA: What?!? GFX and swapping jobs are very easy?! Ha, ha! I think they are not. They might be easy if compared to coding, but anyway I think they're not easy. And I'm sure that girls are capable of doing other things than GFX and swapping! There aren't very much girls, so is it some kind of miracle, if there aren't any girl musicians or coders??! MD: Girls are only good in bed! What do you think about this most usually used sentence? VA: Well, errrrr... I think that girls can do other things well too. It would be nice to know what kind of guy has said that sentence (Could it be me? - MOP!). If the guy had more brain capacity, then he maybe can find out that girls can do many other things as well (I think it wasn't me then! - MOP!). We girls also have a soul and we do not only give something to guys and they just take! It must work in both ways... MD: Why do you think that some swappers prefer to find girl contacts? Don't you think that after this interview you'll maybe get lots of swapping offers? Are you actually looking for more contacts? VA: I think that the solution is quite simple. Boys just like girls and it's always interesting to see that there really are girls in the scene. As a girl, I've seen many different kind of scene boys, some are really pervert (Could it be me ... Nooooo! - MOP!), some almost wanna get married when they hear that I'm a girl, some boys just doesn't care about it at all, etc... Yes, I think that after this interview I'll get many swapping offers. If normal guys would get about 40-60 new contacts, I'll probably get 100. But well, you never know... I'm still looking for some more contacts, but I prefer friendly swapping, so please no Hi & Bye letters. MD: What do you think of the post office? Usually postmen aren't very kind with scene guys, and they always seem to cause a lot of trouble. So how does your postman behave? VA: Well, well, well... I haven't had any problems with the post. Here where I live, the post comes to a big box, together with about 15 other people's post and everyone must search their own post in there (it's not typical in Finland, only here where I live, as I've already mentioned). So, there's no postman, who could cause any trouble. I also don't have to take my sendings to the post office. I just leave them in another box, next to the other! I just don't have any kind of problems with the post (except when one sending was opened or then I didn't close the envelope well. Some disks were missing!). MD: What are your feelings when you read in all these scroll texts, sentences about fucking girls? VA: Interesting question. Well, I think that guys who write this kind of stories, prefer the sentence 'Girls are only good in bed'. I don't like them, well anyway I'm not very interested in reading any of that kind of 'stories'. I think that real sex is a nice thing, but this fucking isn't!!! MD: Are you enjoying your summer holidays? VA: Yeps, there is only one summer in a year!!! MD: What's your opinion about all these nude girls on the beaches? Do you think that a nude girl can attract more boys' attention? VA: Well, I think that a nude girl attracts more boys' attention, but also other people's attention, but not of the same kind. But why aren't there also nude boys? Why only girls should be nude? I wouldn't do it myself and I think that there are also other ways to attract boys' attention! MD: What's your opinion about disk magazines? Do you think that sex stories should be left out from disk magazines? VA: Well, well, again... First of all my general opinion. I think that disk magazines are great! Best stuff ever done! But I think that there is too much of them, especially because most of them are not very good. I think that there aren't very many really good mags! And then the sex stories... Well, I think that they doesn't need to be necessarily removed, if someone (like me) doesn't want to read them, he/she doesn't have to. But I just think that in some way or another the girls are always objects! MD: So what's your general relation ship to boys, if it isn't too personal? VA: Well, it's not very good... What's wrong? Is it my look? Must be, because if someone really knew me and my feelings, etc, he wouldn't go away (hmmm... I even hope so!). I'm a little shy, so it's not easy for me to talk with unknown (or to those I don't know very well) people. That's the main reason I think. MD: Many say that French or German girls are the most good looking ones around? But for you who are the most good looking boys?! VA: Oh no! I could better answer who I don't like, but I don't want to loose contacts. Hehe, no, really I don't know. Sorry! MD: Do you think that it is still possible for boys and girls, to be just friends? VA: Yes, I know it is possible! I know many boys and girls who are just friends but of course there's always the possibility that things go further and... MD: Do you think that there is any difference between boys who own, and those who don't own, a computer? Do you think that scene guys are boring, and maybe a normal girl would never get interested in them? VA: Maybe there is some kind of difference. Many shy or for example not so good looking guys may be really cool elite guys in the scene, but there is other kind of people too... No, I think that there are many interesting scene guys, so they're not boring at all! Of course some guys are boring, but isn't it so in real life too? I think that a normal girl would get interested in them as well as any other 'normal' guy! I know many scene guys who are very very nice! (I think you must be referring to me - MOP!) MD: Do you think that all these popular, EuroChart-toppers, elite scene guys are somewhat better that the other normal boys? VA: No, I think that although they're elite in the scene, they could even be losers in their real life. I think that they're not in anyway better than the 'normal' boys. Well, maybe they're more talented than the others! MD: What's your opinion, about the so-called scene language? VA: It's good to have it! It would be very boring if you have to write 10 words instead one, which means the same as those 10 words... Some people who don't know anything about the scene would wonder what those words could mean! MD: Have you ever been on any Amiga party? Will you maybe visit the Summer Assembly party, there in Finland? VA: No no no... I haven't been on any party. I have thought about visiting the Assembly party, but I think I can't go there. It would be nice to be almost (?) the only girl there, or then it wouldn't! MD: Well, we have now reached the end of this interview. Any last words or messages? VA: Nice interview... You'll find my address in advertisement part, if you're interested in contacting me! No time for personal messages, but best greetings to all my friends & contacts! Thanks for the interview, Mop! MD: I must really thank you, Sanna, for having been patient to answer all my questions! Next time we'll bring you an interview with a French girl!
