Interview with M e n t a l o f A N A R C H Y by Shadow/Artefact MD: Hi Mental! Present yourself... ME: Hello everybody! My real name is Eric, and I'm a French boy, living 150 kms south of Paris! I'm 21 years old, 1.70m tall, blue-eyed, and brown haired dude. I'm still studying, and my main subjects are Electricity and Mechanics. MD: Some personal infos! ME: I enjoy chatting with anybody of anykind of topics. I think it's really cool to speak about something else that computers, isn't it? What I like is football, athletics, roleplaying, girls (only, and my pretty girl called Aurelie), friends, going to the cinema, dancing and travelling. That's to say, always having fun, and taking the best of life. MD: Your personality... ME: I like to wear classic clothes, and I'm quit serious. More precisely, I'm nervous, shy, romantic (as most of the french boys!), calm and franc! MD: What's your group and your activities? ME: One of my friends bought an Amiga, and started to get contacts abroad. That attracted me! During December 1989, I had my so awaited computer! Then I started to be a swapper in Subsoftware. I was asked to spread our cracks, and packs. But it didn't last a long time... So I joined with some friends Beastie Boys. This one was cool, but some of the members were strange, so I left. I stopped my activities and got again into the scene in June 1991, when I joined Devils. This team is one of the coolest, but they live too far from me, so I prefered to joined Atlantys, who are living near Paris too. Then as Atlantys was dying, I asked Spirit to join, to make demo-packs! But one of their intro was made of ripped music and gfx, and I really disliked it, so I decided to leave again. I joined this german group called TECH as leader of the french section! Spirit asked me to stay, and ATLANTYS was back on the scene, so I left SPIRIT and TECH because of lack of time and some internal problems. Lately I was only in ATLANTYS (Which is a cool group !), in this one I was organizer, packer and mail trader... We produced a series of packs called 'BLUE DREAM'... But now all members joined three groups (Rebels, Silents and Anarchy) so, I prefer ANARCHY for their coolness ... MD: What do you think about the French scene? ME: I'm glad to see that many groups are born lately, and to observe the way they grow up! You can find, in France, great groups like: Melon Dezign - Anarchy - Delight - Devils - Dreamdealers - EOC 1999 - Eremation - Rebels - Silents - Symbiosis - TRSI and Zenith. They are, of course, cooler groups abroad. I also think it is cool to get contacts abroad, because you can get some friends, and finally see them, one day! Now I prefer talking with new friends of all countries because in France most of the groups are jealous and I found the people cooler outside... MD: What do you think about the APP? Note for foreign countries: In France, APP is the same organisation as it exists in UK: FAST. It is said to be there to protect programes against illegal copies. ME: In France, the scene is cool, but due to lots of lamers, you must be careful if you're an illegal group! The problem is that mad lamers enjoy to give your addy to the police, because they are just jealous of your fame. The APP is very active too because many games are made in France. [Note: Today, the APP is dead, but exists under another name. This new organisation can strike anybody without any complaint from a software editor. This was impossible before.] MD: What are your favorite groups, musicians, graphicians, coders, demos, music disks? ME: Best group: Crusaders & Silents Musician: Audiomonster/Silents &Moby/Drd Graphician: Iridon/Shining &Alex/Alcatraz Coder: Rob Rose/Brainstorm &The Spy/Silents Demo: Hardwired/Silents &Odyssey/Alcatraz Music-Disk: Tune Disc/Concept &Merry Melodies/Relay MD: What are your prefered musics and movies? ME: I listen to cool, soft music, jazz, also Gun'n Roses and Iron Maiden. I enjoy movies like sci-fi (Terminator II), dramatics (JFK) and romantics (Ghost). All kind a movies affecting feeling, and making people stay in front of the screen. MD: Tell us a funny story! ME: It's a tiny girl without any arms going to the kitchen and she asks her father: - Hey daddy, can I have a piece of chocolate? And the dad says: - Just open the cupboard, Bernadette! But the poor girl answers: - It's impossible! - Well, no arms, no chocolate! (Extremly funny joke, very strange humour - ED -) MD: Do you have something else to say? ME: Thank you for this cool interview! You can get in touch with me at: ANARCHY - PO Box 37 - 45700 Villemandeur FRANCE I'm ending this by sending my hottest greetx to all members of ANARCHY And now, to my friends: AMAZE: Damion ALCATRAZ: Alex ARTEFACT: Shadow, Wonder DEVILS: Captain Jewels EREMATION: Brainwasher GRACE: Billy the Kid ITALIAN BB: Franz, Deejay mix MAJIC 12: Jazzy D QUARTZ: Jaz REBELS: Kris SCOOPEX: Paragon SILENTS: Astro, Rave SOCCER BR.: Ben SONIC: Oxide TECH: Tronix TEK: Mac TRSI: Jean VEGA: Style ... and everybody I forgot!
