amiga summit convention '91

 the party was held in a school in nykoping falster (southeastern part of denmark) from 26/4 to 28/4. most freaks sat in a big hall but also a couple of classrooms were used.
 compared to other parties in denmark (red sector/silents and dexion), this party was rather small. only 300 people showed up which was a bit dissapointing for some of the demomakers because the prices would be doubled up if more than 400 came. most of the danish elite was present but only about 20 foreigners. the most well-known foreigners were: rebels sweden, silents sweden, amaze, sanity and quartex (who took the plane all the way from france !). also a guy from new zealand (teo/wang) was present but i don't think he was in europe just for this party ! sb & p thought that they made a record having 7 or 8 girls present - that's more than 2 per cent !
 there wasn't ment to be graphics- and music competition (a bit bad) but it was made anyway (1. prices: 10 disks....). surprisingly 25 tunes joined in the musiccompetition and many of them was high quality ! the competi-tion was won by mad freak of deadlock, droid of direct was second and mantronix/razor third. the graphics competition was a great anticlimax since only 5 pictures competed (and one of them was an ugly logo). the suve-reign winner was a superb picture by slash of flash production who got 13 times as many votes than number two ! but the picture couldn't be spread because it was for a game.... the screen where the pictures were shown was big so that wasn't a problem (like some other parties...).
 at the party a lot of partyinvitations for parties in norway, sweden and luxembourg was spread.
 the deadline for the democompetition was sunday morning at 10.30 (one and a half hour respited). at about 12.00 the demos was to be shown. the organizers had some problems with the special blackout windows over the hall so they had to crawl up on the roof and lay some curtains over the windows to make the hall dark enough ! in the competi-tion the coders got the possibility to control their demos themself (so the demos wouldn't be cut off to early) but i don't think any took advantage of it (though the idea was good)
12 demos (many hole-disk) competed and the result was :

1. silents dk: global trash (305 points)
2. quartex: substance (232 points)
3. sanity: elysium (170 points)

so silents dk made their comeback after months of silence (ho ho...) and won 5000 dkr (aprox 720 $). quartex got 2000 dkr (290 $) to bring the long way home so they hadn't travelled for nothing.
 the party closed 4-5 hours after the democomp which gave people time to copy the things they wanted without the normal hurry and chaos and a lot of guys used this possibility.

 all in all the summit was an average party. the organizing and facilities was ok (except when the food was sold out - really bad). the atmosphere was relaxed but nothing really happened and too few foreign guys showed up (not really sb & p's fault).
