Interview with DARKUS/NAH-KOLOR+POISERECORDS spanked by DARKHAWK/IRIS

Just now (ok, some hours ago anyway), I met up with Darkus after he had
disbanded his new group Nautika. Smelling some story in the air, and wanting
to know more about his diskmag project called Devotion, I reacted quick and
forced him to get interviewed by me. You're now about to start reading the
 result of that!

Darkhawk: Well ok, let's start this impromptu interview, triggered because
just today, you declared Nautika dead, and joined Nah-Kolor together with
some others. Could you tell us why you decided to take your mag and your
person back to Nah-Kolor would be my first question I think :)

Darkus: Firstly I lost motivation (yet again) to organise my own group and
secondly to be honest I`m just selfish and all I care about is my own
magazine. The reason I took some some members with me was due to their
envolvement in some way or another with the mag.

Darkhawk: And you feel that Nah-Kolor will be better suited for your mag,
 Devotion?

Darkus: Yes, for a few reasons. Mainly due to the fact Nah Kolor can better
support the mag and also due to the fact Magic is also main ed who of course
 is in Nah Kolor.

Darkhawk: Ok.. Do you think the other members will be mad at you? Afterall
you formed a new group just 1 month ago, and drop it now, when it was already
preparing some projects (a musicdisk for example)?

Darkus: Well to be honest with you again, I`m not concerned. It may sound
harsh or unemotionial but its the truth. As I previously said all I care for
is my own magazine. I always thought that my members cared more for their
other groups. For instance Cupid would rather code for Unique and B would
rather draw for DCS. That's not a nice feeling!

Darkhawk: Ahh, another problem that arises because of doublemembership!
Hehe, I've argued a lot against that.. But, anyhow, let's speak a bit more
about your mag, Devotion, and net you some easy fame in the process ;) Can
you tell me how long Devotion has come? I know that when you restarted
Digital about 2 years ago, that you worked on a mag called Underground. Is
Devotion the endresult of this, or something completely new?

Darkus: Firstly Devotion and Underworld (not underground :)) are two totally
different projects. As for Devotion, it has come a very long way in a short
space of time. At present the graphics are complete, code just needs
tweeking and music is completed. All is going planned and looks as if it's
 going to arrive very soon!

Darkhawk: Who works on Devotion? Can you tell me a bit about the team (and
 vision) behind it?

Darkus: The entire project is being organised and overseen by myself, and
the current staff consists of me and Magic as the main editors,
Alvin/Generation staff and Surfing/RamJam as co-editors. However saying
that, the staff isn't complete more names will be added soon! The coder
behind the project is Drareg/NahKolor with graphics by Adam/DCS, Teevaan and
Markus/DCS. The debut issue will feature music from Estrayk/Nah Kolor &
Revisq/Nah Kolor. The vision behind the mag is simple, we aim to dominate
the magscene and stay devoted as long as possible!

Darkhawk: Hehe, we'll see about that! :) Devoted to the Amigascene, that's
 the idea behind your name?

Darkus: Yes, the name speaks for itself, we aim to stay devoted. A lot of
magazines just try and survive these days, and thinking like that is the same
as setting yourself a low standard. We aim not just to survive but to
 DOMINATE!

Darkhawk: Ok, you certainly have something to prove with your first issue,
the way you brag now ;) Has it been hard getting the support you needed for
this project, have you written all the articles yourself, or was it very easy
for you whipping people into writing? :)

Darkus: Support? That word means nothing these days. People don't support
you anymore. Well not by choice anyway! I think I have collected a staff
which should be able to write an entire mag ourselves. However a few editor
 friends will be contributing.

Darkhawk: Hmm yes, that's the way it is these days.

Darkus: Happy you agree! Btw I`m not bragging in the previews answers, I`m
 being realistic!

Darkhawk: Ok, you have been quite an active figure in various groups and
projects since you restarted Digital. However, forgive me if it might seem
so, but ALL your projects (the other mag, supporting Trashcan, starting
groups, joining reformed groups) have sort of failed, haven't they? How
 come, do you think?

Darkus: Well some things like Digital and my first magazine Underworld
failed through no fault of my own. The main problem was the coders and
various lies. Yeah I understand I have been moving/changing groups and
projects alot. This mainly comes down to the fact I`m always looking for
something new to motivate myself to keep going, which isn't easy these days,
as I`m sure you`ll know yourself as well as most people reading this!

Darkhawk: Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it isn't :) Evil people might say
you start a lot of things, but finish none? Also, people who'd involved
themselves in your projects feel kind of cheated I've noticed. Now is your
time to speak out and tell us the real truth about the matter?! :)

Darkus: Well, trying not to sound too harsh I really don't care. However I
must note I have NEVER wasted anyones work. Yes they might have joined my
group and been kicked or whatever, but I have never and would never waste any
work they produced for me. I would say that is cheating people.. If I asked
for work and didn't use it.. That is cheating and being a wanker! Also I`m
sure if people knew the full stories behind each failure they`ll see what I
have done isn't really bad at all.

Darkhawk: Being a wanker.. Seems like a popular expression right now, might
be it'll be the new term for a lamer, hehe.. Hmm, but I digress. Nobody
ever knows the full story, and if they only see your movements and cancelled
projects, they might get the wrong picture :)

Darkus: Wanker = a dickhead fucker.. :) Lamer = wasteful piece of shit who
uses computers :) Yes people might and probably will get the wrong picture,
which is why I don't care!

Darkhawk: Hehe, some would say there's not much difference between your two
definitions of those terms ;) Anyway, let's end this interview now, and save
my poor phonebill.. Being a lame (wanky?) standard interviewer, I'll just
let you say some things you want to say, greet people, whatever.. You know
 the drill!

Darkus: Well, I would like to greet everyone who feels cheated by me :) And
everyone in Nah Kolor, Poise Records and Low Profile. I`d like to thank
Skunkmasta/Poise Records for letting me add to his phone bill with this
interview! :) Contact me at: darkus@amigascne.org Ok, thanks for the
interview mate, and good luck with Devotion :)
