INTERVIEW WITH:

Rush of ANARCHY

----------------------

Rush of Anrachy was interviewed by Orlando of Brainstorm.

- Rush, you coded some parts for the "Digital Innovation" demo. Are you satisfied with the demo? Don't you think that the demo is quite boring. Wouldn't it have been better, if you just put in the good parts instead of just squeezing as much as possible in the demo? Why isn't there a possibility to skip the parts? Do you like your demo?

To be honest, Yes I do think it is a bit boring, but I don't think that I ever will be 100% satisfied with any of my productions. Anyway, our intention was not to squeeze as much in to the demo as possible, in fact we did skip a lot of parts, simply because of lack of disk space. But when all comes to all, I think it is OK for my first demo... We also thought about including an exit routine in each part, but no one is perfect!

- How would you rank your demo in the forever charts? And how would you rank yourself in the coder charts?

Wow, that is a difficult questions, I mean how should I be able to rank my self or my demos in an objective way? I'll let it up to the EuroChart voters to deside whether I am a number one coder or not.

- Were there any important or funny events in your computer-life?

If you mean during the development of Digital Innovation, then yes. It was all done for fun, and coding really is a lot of fun! But the worst thing I did was the tracking, wich was important, I think, but very boring.

- Do you like being a member of Anarchy? What would your dream group consist of?

My opinion has always been that a group may not to be based on friendship, but know-how, but if you can combine these two things you will come up with the perfect group... Anarchy!

- From where do you have your name? Did the music-group RUSH influence you to take this name as nickname? What do you generally think about nicknames? Aren't some of them rather stupid?

Well, I did not even know about the existence of a music-group called RUSH, so I guess it didn't. I once thought of using my real name but I realy don't think that "A Rene M0llnitz production" sounds too good.

- Some words about your future aspirations... Tell us something about your next demo called "Hardcore".

Hardcore is just a mini production I am working on with Icronite, and it should be released when you read this, and after that I am planing to do a consol game. So my next demo won't be ready till after new year.

- Have you ever tried to compose music? What was the result?

Ha ha.. Yes but it always turned out to be nothing but a noisy drumpattern!

- What do you think about the demo scene at the moment? What do you prefer? Superb coding and almost none ideas or low level coding but excellent ideas?

I think the demoscene sucks at the moment, especially the danish one! There are too little active groups left, and there only a few good demos were released. Personally I think that good coding and ideas go together, and that filled vectors are much more interesting than the silly Budbrain-style!

- Do you think compatibility is important? Do your demos work on every Amiga machine? Are you interested whether your demo works on all machines?

Of course I would like if my demos could run on any machine, and I did test "Digital Innovation" on a lot of different machines with all different types of configurations, but after the release I found out that the loader buged out at some old diskdrives... but that is all fixed now. I also thought to do a repairdisk for the demo, but I guess it won't be for any use now.

- What do you think about the C64 scene? Were you a part of it?

I once was a member of a group in the C64 scene, but I never really learned to code on it... too many LDA's and STA's! At that point of time I was also a graphicsartist, but I found out that I was never to be even half as good as the others, so I stopped drawing.

- Copy-parties... what about them? Do you think it's hard to win a demo-competition? Will you release your future demos at parties to earn some money with your work?

To me it is difficult enough to finish the demo before deadline, and "Digital Innovation" was supposed to be released at the Cryptoburners party this summer. Too bad that Thomas Landspurg did finish his slow vectorroutine.

- Do you have plans to code a game? What do you think about the games that were published in the last time? Are you a pathological gamer?

I am planing a SEGA Megadrive game at the moment wjich due to release some time next year. But my opinion about games in general is that it is for 12 years old kids with nothing else to do... (I have got one or two games myself. Hi Hi)

- Are there living any computer freaks near to you? Or are you just a single coder lost completely alone in front of your computer.

Coding is for singles, but there are a couple of freaks in my neighbourhood. Hej Anders, Kent, Mikael, Brian, Arne, Lasse, Troels, Ib og Kvalme!

- Are you interested in system-programming? What about exec, ports, handlers, windows... have you ever tried to code WITH the system?

I never really did a routine using the system, because I like to do it all myself (Hardcore!). But if I ever will do some system work I'll do it in C.

Varme til Kasper og Rasmus!

- What do you think about PD-companies who sell demos and make money by selling them? Have you made any experiences?

I don't care if they did contact me first, but normaly they don't.

- What about groups who think they are the fucking best?

I think it's funny that some people think that they can become famous by calming that they are the best. To me it seems a bit childish.

- What do you think about the A3000? Do you consider buying one?

A very powerful machine, but a bit expensive though. But if I had the money, I would rather buy a Macintosh or a PC for cross development.

- What do you think about the following coders and their demos and intros? Don't hesitate to write down your real feelings.

-- Azatoth/Phenomena

I like every byte of Azatoths demos, but I think that the first place in the EuroChart is for somone else... Olle is the name - Raytracing is the game...

-- Slayer/Scoopex

Slayer seems to be every ones favorit, and "Mental Hangover" sure was generations ahead. Now any coder can do that.

-- Tec/Cryptoburners

Tec's vectorroutine in "The Hunt For Seventh October" was amazing, but I haven't seen much from this guy..

-- Mace/Phenomena

The only thing I have seen from Mace is "Joy ride" and there really isn't much to say, but en-joy it!

-- Buddha/Spreadpoint

Buddha is with no doubt my favourite coder, and "Cube O Matic" is the BEST demo EVER!

-- Dan/Anarchy

Dan of Anarchy is nothing but a british lamer! And a chicken aswell! In other words I LOVE YOU DAN!

-- Mahoney & Kaktus/Northstar

The only ones who can do silly demos the right way. Too bad that they have quit the demo scene.

-- Chaos/Sanity

Is a very skilled coder with a lot of brilliant ideas, but not very good at designing I think. (Also good at an ActionReplay!)

-- Corto/Quartex

If you are not very fond about boring vector cubes, then you are not very fond about Corto. I've heard that Quartex is dead, but I don't hope that Corto is...

- Who is the best coder at the moment? Why?

I must admit that I was bit shocked when I saw "Cube O Matic" by Buddha. What he did there is absolutly the best demo routine I have ever seen. I know that a lot of people would say that it is nothing special, but to me texturemapping was a revolution. I sure hope that he will do some more cool stuff in the near future.

Continues...
...continued.

- Anarchy in the U.K. Do you like the Sex Pistols? Do you think you're an anarchist? Aren't you satisfied with your government? Are there any anarchistic Anarchy members?

There isn't any Anarchy U.K.! We decided not to split up Anarchy in seperate devisions like other groups do. Therefore remember not to greet Anarchy DK or UK but just to greet Anarchy. The only thing that I don't like about being a member of Anarchy is that people think that I am a real anarchist, which I am not! To me Anarchy is just a group name like "Brainstorm" or "Lasses Venner". I don't know if any members of Anarchy are anarchists, and I don't really care.

- Short questions coming up. Who or what is your favourite...

Demo: Cube O Matic

Musician: Bruno

Graphician: Golem

Group: Crionics

Food: BIG-MAC

Music-group: Keld heick

Disk-drive: DF1:

Mousepad: Baaaaah...

School-lesson: Mathematics

- What do you think about Levis 501 jeans? (good question... ehhh???)

Tastes like shit...

- Motherfucker, stupid-fuck, asshole, shit-eater... what about these expressions?

Those words belongs to people working at the harbour and to members of storm.

- Do you think being drunk is cool?

No, but I like to puke a bit!

- Now feel free to violate the following bytes...
