³¼Ami-Expo in Cologne¼¹ One of the great events for every Amiga freak happened from the 1. of November to the 3rd. It was the `AMI-Expo` in Cologne, the biggest Amiga show in the world. Over 200 exhibitors were presented and `AMI-shows` (main organizers of this show) thought with around 70000 visitors. Some names who were presented: Commodore (who would believe....), Data Becker, ESD, Rossmoeller, Vortex computersystems, Amiga special, Kickstart, ASM, Powerplay, Joysoft, Rainbow Arts, Psygnosis, Micropose, Software 2000, Bomico, Rushware, Cachet and many more. Also the elite freaks of the Amigascene were expected and meeting-place was as usual the Commodore stall. I arrived at around 14:00 o` clock in Friday and just some minutes in the Expo I soon found some of my contax. It seemed to become a real success and straight on I searched for the Commodore sign. After heading from place to place I reached it and I watched out for some `Agnostix` who wanted to arrive also on Friday, but I could not find any of them. A bit disappointed I decided to have a closer look at the crowd of softwarecompanies and so I did. The first company I visited was `Psygnosis` and it was (in my opinion!) the best stable. Three Amigas showed the previews of upcoming games and due this `games` were playable a huge crowd were presented. I came in contact with `David Crawford` the director of sales because I asked for those incredible posters with the Psygnosis label but unfortunately they weren`t for anyone. Then we talked about the scene and so on and at last he gave me his personal card because I shall write him in England and he will send me then some of those posters (cool service, Psygnosis !!!!). After this cool action I walked on to the best German software house namely `Rainbow Arts`. There I caught some stickers and after leaving it I saw `Hellraiser` and `Snake`, both from `Agnostic Front` and we chatted a bit. He told me that most A.F. members are right now at Commodore place and so I went straight to it. After being again there I found `Funky` and some other members and we made some action with shouting and throwing prospects around. After meeting also some other guys which I know in scene we decided to meet us all at around 5pm for doing some fun in Cologne. I walked around and watched the latest hardware releases and it is really amazing what is coming up in the future. Meanwhile the crowd of peoples was so high that it was on some points quit hard to walk on and I really wondered if all those peoples gots Amigas. Anyway, time showed 5 pm and so I walked back to Commodore and there I met all Agnostix again. Alltogether we left the Expo and met us at the church. After we found us (it took around half an hour till all peoples arrived!) we decided to eat something. We went around and found at last a chinese and we entered it. Since that time all were full of fun and we laughed much and this also after we left the chinese. We decided to head to a pub layed somewhere in the outskirts of Cologne. In a convoy of seven cars we drove in Cologne around and at last we reached a town called `Olbring` (I think so...) and there we went to the pub. Unfortunately some Agnostix never reached this pub due they lost us in Cologne and the next week I heard that they drove home after this. Well, back to the pub.....we sat altogether at a table and drank some beer and the usual (alcohol) stuff and at around 2 am all peoples of us were off to take some sleep at their hostels. I made my bed in the car ready and I slept quit cool, even there was a cemetery directly infront of my car (pretty nice, indeed...). Anyway, I woke up at around 8 am and due I was really starving I walked around in this small town to look around for a baker or a discounter and I found one. I bought myself some breadrolls, cheese and margerine and made me a cool breakfast. After this I drove back to Cologne to be right at the beginning on the Expo. But after I was at the entrance of it I really wondered. At 9 am all entrances (there were 8!!!) were full of peoples and so I waited around half an hour till I entered again this show. I walked again around and chatted with some guys of the `Tronic-Verlag` (wellknown for their mag called `ASM`) and we (I found there also `Backlash` of A.F.) invited the whole ASM team for `Rosebud extravaganza` you know, a funmeeting held by `Razor 1911, Silents, Spreadpoint and A.F` on the 16. of November (report is coming up in issue 10). The morning to the midday we had much fun. I met mostly all peoples I wanted to met and I enjoyed it really to see all those `unknown` guys. Well, at around 12:30 I decided to leave this party due some probs with my girl at home and with broken hard I said bye to all those great guys. At around 5 pm I was back at home in good old `Sulingen` and drove to my girl. But this is another story.... ³Signed: Acropole / Agnostic Front
