³C.C.C.C.P Party report ¹ Last year Chromance announced the biggest party ever seen in Budapest/Hungary. It was a big succes really. This summer Cerberos, Chromance, C/Mania tried to organize the ultimate computer fun show! Let's see what happened there! The party was organized on 6-7th of September 1991 in Budapest, Hungary. The party place was an university of technical studies. Before the party there were some rumours which said the first price would be 5 packs 5.25 noname disks. So It was really a bit depressing for us, but finally we had finished our competition demo one day before the party. We went by train from Sopron to Budapest. Of course with 75% reduced tickets. In Kapuvar Version/Majic 12 and some lame faces get into the train. I wanted to give signals to Version, so I pulled down the window, but I couldn't pull down it 10 centemetres longer, and I couldn't draw up the window. After 20 minutes in the compartment it was about 5 centigrades cold. Everybody dressed up, and the old people left the comparment. No problem - at least we had enough space in the comparment. On the train we met some freaks from the Soc.Brigade. We had cool time there. We reached Budapest at 10:00 and from the railway station wanted to go to the party place with tram. The only problem was that there wasn't any trams coz the tramline was under repair. So we had to go on a bus. Finally we reached the party place. The entrance fee was 70Fts for Saturday and 100 Fts for Saturday and Sunday. In the hall we met some freaks from Live Act and 23C. We wanted to go in free, so when a little part of the folding screen was removed we tried to go in with Jaby/Live, but the shithead guard caught us. So we had to pay. We bought tickets only for Saturday. Then we looked around. There was a real big place for computer freaks, but the hall was nearly empty. It was only for lamers. «!Pr.ccccpspik» Then we went to the first floor where the real party place was. Then we found that we had to pay again 200 Fts, a bit too much. I thought a little and finally I solved this problem. There were two gates to the real party place, but the organizers took care of only one of the gates. It would have been ok, but Jean/Cerberos had found us in the party room and asked for our hands. There wasn't any stamps so we had to pay, and we paid. But luckily we had got back a little amount from the tickets, coz I went out from the lamers place and sold our tickets at half price to some freaks. (Hi Asti/Soc.brigade and Matrix/Grace!) Ok it was time to look around. The elite party place was a small room which was filled up with crazy freaks. The following groups showed up : Majic12(H), Soc.Brigade(H), Live Act(H), 23C(H), Katharis(PL), Acme(PL), Grace(H), TRSI(A), X-ray(A), Energy(A), Cerberos(H), Chromance(H), Agnostic Front(D) and many many more C64 and other smaller Amiga groups. I had great chat with Mr.Root/Acme and S.S.Captain and Jerry/KTS and our good friends from Austria, Spikey and Schlumie/X-ray. The main problem was at the party that there wasn't enough Amiga for doing something. Everybody hunted for machines. «!Pr.ccccpjoe» There was a big stereo in the room. Unfortunatelly there wasn't a video projector so it was used mainly for module playing. B.B.Mixmaster/Majic 12 played some of his fab Yello tracks. The crowd were totally amazed. About 18:00 a bloody news arrived to us. The party will close at 22:00 so everybody have to look around for a sleeping place. It was really lame thing. At the end of the first day we started to reach Ultravox/Majic 12's relatives empty house. They were on vacation. The X-ray guys joined us. We want to go by tram again, but ofcoz we couldn't so we went by bus. After some stations we get off. Then started to walk to the house. After 10 minutes of walking Spikey bought a big melone. We said to him 'Do you know that we are going to wrong direction?" Everybody laughed, but we went to wrong direction really! So after 30 minutes we were again where we get off from the bus. In the night we met lotsa guys from the party in the subway. We met Comiga/Soc.Brigade and Bruce/Cerberos. Bruce showed us the way to our house (Thanx) and Ultravox/Majic 12 saw ADT/Soc.Brigade. Finally we were at the house. There we watched TV and ate the melone then we talked a little and went to bed. I have to say that it was really a good thing to sleep about 6 hours in a real bed (with Rack/Majic 12 and Version/Majic 12) coz next day I was really fine for the party. On Sunday morning the X-ray boys left us and we went back to the university. Then there was some problems coz we didn't buy tickets for Sunday and we had trouble with the doorkeeper. Fuck you lamer. Finally we paid only the difference with Sunday+Saturday minus Saturday (30 Fts). So we were in again. In Sunday the main hall were only half filled with people. So we went up to the first floor again. Then it was the time for a little copying. We found a free machine it the ground floor. So I changed my stuffs with S.S.Captian/KTS. While we were copying there some lamers asked us for programs. One of them gave me a list with some programnames and gave me some disks. I asked him why he had given it to me. The answer was the following "if you have this program copy it for me." We kicked his ass ofcoz! At 12:00 the competition started. The sound was OK, but the the monitor for Amiga was a lame hungarian Tv with modulator, coz there was a problem with the Scart cabel or with the Scart plug. First there was the music competition. There were about 15 tunes played. The master of ceremony was Petroff/Soc.Brigade coz Jean/Cerberos couldn't use protracker. He said I'm only a swapper. Petroff played the whole tunes from start to end (really nice!) and then he said who made the song. It was really funny coz his english spelling was really funny. He spelt Grace really intresting so the whole hungarian scene laughed at him. The winner was Mr.Root/Acme. After that there was the grafix competition. The winner was Joe/TRSI and the second was Alex/Soc.brigade. The diference was only one vote. After that the demo competition was arranged. It was really funny, coz there was only one demo, Ray of Hope II. It was showed from start to end and then we were the winners. What a easy winning, but I think the demo was really fab! We worked with it a lot. The first price were 200 disks (Tunsgram, which is a hungarian firm. I saw the one pack costs in a computer store nearly 2.000 Fts, which is really expensive, but the disks are absolutelly shit, with lotsa read errors.) and we got a par of Hi-Fi boxes. There was a C64 demo competition. Sorry I don't know who won it, but there was lotsa foreigner C64 freaks too. (The winner was Cosmos Design(A)) It was a good thing that everybody might vote. There wasn't a jury. At 16:00 the party closed so we started to go home. We had again cool times with the Soc.Brigade members. All in all the party was good for me coz I met lotsa friends, but the organizing was really weak. The only organizer who tried to make something was Jean/Cerberos. So all of my regards to him, coz he tried to do something, but the other group members left him alone. Shame on you!! And there wasn't any projector, nonstop food supply or internal infosystem! ³Zozo/Majic 12
