HACK-MAG: Are you doing a job already or are you still going to school? (what job?) The Surge: Yeah, I work in a retail store part-time. HACK-MAG: What's your job in Quartex? The Surge: Cracker. HACK-MAG: Do your parents know, what you do with your computer? The Surge: Yeah... HACK-MAG: What was your first crack? The Surge: Whoa.. Heh. I think it was Dynasty Wars, way back last Summer in Paradox! HACK-MAG: Which was the hardest game to crack? Interview with The Surge / Quartex - 2/5 By: Dave & Charly/D-TECT The Surge: That is kind of a hard question, because nothing is hard once you have done it, so I can't really look back on the 100+ I released between Paradox and Quartex and say "this one stood out" some were special, some were not ... And those that were, in different ways.. HACK-MAG: Are there any programs you tried to crack, but failed? The Surge: Hehe, Generally I crack what I am supplied. So long as I get the original at a compe- titive speed, I dont fail. HACK-MAG: Which (copy) - protection causes the most dificulties to you? The Surge: There is not a protection known to me that is too difficult to crack! After you get to a certain level, it only takes time. HACK-MAG: What do you think if there's a fix or a 100% version for a game you cracked two days ago? The Surge: Well, its only happened to me once in the last 8months, and I really don't care too much. I try to make it so my version does not need a fix! HACK-MAG: Do you get money for the cracks? The Surge: No. Interview with The Surge / Quartex - 3/5 By: Dave & Charly/D-TECT HACK-MAG: Some people would consider you as a thief, do you feel yourself criminal? The Surge: Not really. HACK-MAG: What do you think about the pope? The Surge: I hate religion and what it does to corrupt and destroy people. I think that it has been used to manipulate peoples lives since the beginning of time, and that is the true evil. HACK-MAG: What are you doing in your spare time if you are not sitting in front of a comp? The Surge: Movies, various shit.. HACK-MAG: In how many boards are you active? The Surge: About 3... HACK-MAG: Are you trading modem just for fun, to get the latest stuff or to read your name in the uploader charts? The Surge: I only use the modem for the pretty lights on the front.
