    of  Sanity@2.   My  job  is creating
    soundtracks    for    our   crew's
    productions.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 Tell  some facts about your person
    (Age,    private    life,   girls,
    school).
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 I  was  born on the 12th of August
    1972,  so  I'm  now  18 years old.
    School  is rather demanding at the
    moment but in my spare-time I like
    doing  "real"  (techno-pop)  music
    and    seeing    my    girlfriend.
    Sometimes   I   fool  around  with
    @5Diddle@4  and  @516 Beat@4 a bit or hang
    out with my folks.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 Just describe your group a bit.
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Well,   we  consist  of  about  20
    members.   All the ones I know are
    great     fellas     and    partly
    outrageously  funny  (Hi  Gash !).
    Who  cares  when we were founded -
    probably  back in '89 but I cannot
    say   exactly   because  I  joined
    Sanity  at  the beginning of 1991.
    Unfortunately  I'm obliged to keep
    quiet   about  our  future  plans.

    before you joined Sanity ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Yep,  I  have  but I don't want to
    talk  about  it  for  I didn't get
    along   with  two  of  the  crews.
    Anyway, I'm happy to be in a group
    like Sanity now.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 What instruments do you play ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 None,   really.   Back  in  '81  I
    played  the  flute  but  that  was
    boring  so I dropped it.  My piano
    skills are more than basic.  To be
    honest  I'm  more of a theoretical
    musician  -  that's  why  I  use a
    computer.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 Do  you  use  a keyboard to create
    your     tunes     or     is    it
    Noise/Protracker only ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Sometimes  I  use my @5Roland D10@4 to
    create a melody or to figure out a
    nice flow a chords but mostly it's
    my  fave  :   @5Protracker  1.1A@4 for
    that's  the best way to make tunes
    "work" on the Amiga.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 I  think  no  musician  uses  only
    selfmade  samples.   Tell  us your
    selfmade/ripped ratio.
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 A  word  of truth !  Actually, I'm
    using  loads of ripped samples but
    most  of the drums I sample myself
    from  12  inch records/CDs.  To my
    mind,  I've got about 4 or 5 disks
    with  self  sampled  drum  sounds.
    Then  again  my D10 has got a nice
    repertoire  of sounds.  For a tune
    I'm  currently  working  on I took
    ALL   the  instruments  from  this
    synth.   I  think there is nothing
    bad  about ripping.  If there is a
    nice  sample which I could need in
    a  song I just take it and I don't
    bother  if  other musicians use my
    samples  because  I  was the first
    one to have used them anyway.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 How  much  time  do  you  spend in
    front of your Amiga every day ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Every  day  is definitely too much
    for  me!  Recently, I switched  it
    on  perhaps  twice a week.  If I'm
    working  on a song it can be up to
    6 to 10 hours.  You cannot write a
    song any day - I need the MOOD.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 Are  you  just composing tunes day
    in  day  out  or  do  you use your
    Amiga   also   for   other  things
    (games, coding ...).
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 No,  it's  music only.  When I was
    younger  I  liked  games a lot but
    nowadays  most  of them are boring
    to   me.   Sometimes  I'm  writing
    articles,   letters  etc.   on  my
    machine but that's all.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 Who  is the best Amiga musician in
    your opinion ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 A  hard question to answer.  There
    are  too  many  really good people
    but    my   absolute   faves   are
    @5TIP/Mantronix/Firefox@4    at    the
    moment  (of  course a few more but
    the list's too long).
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 What  do  you think about charts ?
    Do you need feedback for your work
    or  is  it  your  own opinion that
    counts ?
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Before I release a song or copy it
    to  anyone  I have to be satisfied
    with  it  to a certain degree.  If
    other  people  like  it  then it's
    really  wonderful  because @5SUCCESS@4
    is  very, very important to me.  A
    positive  reaction is like a motor
    to  go  on but I will @5NEVER@4 create
    cheap  pieces  that  appeal to the
    public but which I don't like (Hip
    Hop etc.).
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 @5DISC@4  is  now a SANITY production.
    Give us some background info about
    this change.
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 To  my  mind, it was ZODIAC's idea
    to  take  over  DISC  for  he  was
    writing loads of articles for that
    mag  and  SANITY  was  planning to
    start  a  discmag  anyway.   Chaos
    will  do  a completely new coding,
    our  gfx  men will give DISC a new
    look  and  the  soundtrack will be
    one of my tunes.  At the moment we
    are  still  collecting  ideas  and
    suggestions  even though a part of
    the  coding  is  already done.  We
    shall see how it works out.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 What  are  @5PANTHER@4 and @5CHAOS@4 doing
    at  the  moment?   Will  there  be
    another  cooperation demo by them,
    or  are  they going their own ways
    from now on.
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 "@5Elysium@4"  was  quite a hit so why
    should they work seperately now ?!
    Moreover   they  are  really  good
    friends,  I  think,  so  they will
    probably  work  together again but
    nothing  is  decided right now.  I
    know  Chaos has got some new ideas
    but  I'm not allowed to talk about
    them.   All I can tell you is that
    I've seen a few routines that were
    quite impressive but you will find
    out yourself in a few months.
@T,0,99F,CCF,0 @1MB:@2 As  I  know,  your group is in WAR
    with   some   (ex-)   members   of
    @5SPHERICAL  DESIGNS@4!    You've  now
    got  the  opportunity  to describe
    your own opinion about this.
@T,0,9F9,CFC,0 @1JE:@2 Hrm,  this topic needs a bit of an
    explanation.    A   member  of  SD
    called  @5Stefan H.@4  and a friend of
    his (@5Jan-Derk M.@4) were planning to
    organize  regular  parties  and on
    their  invitations they wrote that
    various  groups  including  SANITY
    were   co-organizers.   We  called
    them three times to tell them that
    they  should correct the "mistake"
    but  they reacted very arrogantly.
    Due  to  this  fact  we started an
    anti-campaign   and   it  seems to
    have worked since there was almost
    no  Amiga  owner  on  their  first
    boring  party.   The  two guys had
    done  all the organisation without
    really    telling    THEIR   group
    (Spherical Designs) what they were
    actually  up  to.   The SD leaders
    had  planned  that  it  should  be
    THEIR  party  and  not  a  regular
    event  to  make   money!   Diddle, 
    16  Beat and me talked to the rest
    of  SD  on  the party and they got
    very   angry   because   they  are
    currently  topping  all  the lamer
    charts.   The guys decided to kick
    Stefan  H.   and asked us to point
    out  to  EVERY  Amiga  owner  that
    @5SPHERICAL  DESIGNS HAVE NOTHING TO
    DO WITH THE PARTIES IN BOCHOLT AND
    THAT  FROM  NOW  ON THEY SHOULD BE
    BOYCOTTED!@4   We  apologized  to SD
    for  we didn't mean to give them a
    look THAT filthy.  At this point I
    would  like  to  mention  that I'm
    sorry  for  Jan-Derk  M.   because
    he's  not  that  rich  and  he has
    probably lost some money with this
    organisation.   I'm  speaking  for
    Diddle   and   16  Beat  as  well,
    indeed.    In   conclusion  it  is
    important  to  say  that @5SANITY IS
    NOT IN WAR WITH  SPHERICAL DESIGNS@4
    - we have achieved what we wanted:
    to give the "Bocholter Copy Party"
    a bad reputation.  Thanks for your
