GATHERING'96 - report T.he Gathering'96 was sort of an ..success, the best thing was that there wasn't any powercuts. As always it is impossible to run a huge party like the Gathering without problems, the compos was alittle fucked up and they showed them at some strange times... So alot the people was sleeping when the Gfx compo was held, also the *NEW* vote system that was going to function just suxxed... If you didn't have a PC and was conected to a the Network you had to stand in line and vote on a PC, that is strickly against the amiga lovers religion.. It turned out in the end that only a few votes was registered.... FUCK... But the whole party was really a big success, there where alot of space and many guys to meet.. The compos was really cool, with TBL and Triumph demo, some of the wild compos made on the Amiga was really good to, and they won. ANother bad thing was all the PC people, just sitting and playing games, and they didn't even bother to watch the compos. I hate people like that. Should not be allowed to be on a party, but they make the party look bigger and more people come every year, more real scene people should be there. The music was not to loud so you could talk to people, and they only played scene music, and lot of techno/jungle/tranz/hardcore etc.... A few BIG groups was presented, but i was hoping to se some more big demos and intros, really hope more will come next year. As the organizers had a 5 year contract with CocaCola and was hoping to get one with the owners of the hall.. So we hope we can return back to the Gathering next year, with some great prods and a lot of great people. Thrym of Giants&Massive
