- THE PREY main theme - by Slide of Polka Brothers ------------------------------------- I think this tune is by Slide, although maybe Airwalk or Merge (Laxity) had some hand in it. That's the curse of having the two best coders/musicians in Polka Bros. :) Anyhow, the intro-music is very good. It fits the screen perfectly, it's impressively cinematic, with lots of low, scary string-stabs. And a gorgeous machinery-winding-down noise at the end. :) The main tune itself is excellent. Nice stereo effects, exceptionally good samples, very sharp, focused percussion, excellent strange machinery-cycling noises.. :) The tune itself is very percussion+squelch-bass led, with no particular melody, but the phasing synths are very cool when they come in. Nice breakdown halfway through, too. It's too easy to under-rate this tune. It's probably my favourite of all those at The Party 4: tight, smart, and wonderfully well linked with the demo itself, a characteristic of Airwalk/Laxity demos in the past. --------------------------Hollywood--- -------------------------------------- This is a standard pop techno tune, which is actually quite unusual for Slide who use to create more alternative things. Even though I say that this tune is a standart pop techno tune, I mean only in structure and ideas. The sound quality is extremely good and all the samples fits each other perfect! The tune is excellent for a demo, the only thing I need is a theme of some kind. Still this piece is in an amazing quality though it isn't that interesting listening to (I think). Anyway, a big credit to Slide for not trying to make the same terrible boosted hardcore effect as most other techno tunes mas. ----------------------------Chorus----
