An interview with Zinko of Kefrens by
Mike B of Magic for the Defiance Buzz
issue Five...

MB: Hey Zinko !! Do you want to
answear some simply questions like how
old You are and where You coming from?

ZIP: NO!!!........ ;) Well Okay I'm
more like 5983 years, and I come from
the pyramids outside cairo.......
Woopti.... eehhh.... Well Last time
I recall to have become 20, and I
actually live in a rather nice
city*.... Called Slagelse in the land
of the real vikings (thats true!!!!
;) beat it kingpin.. you blody
american.. 8) ) Denmark! And to make
it right I'm bouth a member of Kefrens
& Polka Brothers..... We rule like
mule... eehhh... heheh 8)

*Great night life...

MB: Sure great (or?) can You please
tell us
 about Your Scene history?

ZIP: That was a tough one, but I will
try to give you a short version. It
started way back in the good old C64
days, I was just playing around with
some games. But one day a friend of
mine came to visit me, he had brought
a demo with him, which he of course
showed me. After this I was really
amazed, and we started getting
interested in making demos ourselves.
So after some days we made our first
group, which we called "Rowdy". We
where not very good at this point, but
we were full of willpower. After some
time we managed to release a couple of
demos, but they where rather poor.
Some more months went by, and "Rowdy"
died. Another month passed and we
decided to rebuild our group, but this
time under the name "The Shadow
Dreamers". We had gotten a little
better at this point,
but we only managed to release one
demo called "Power Dream", After this
demo was released I decided to move on
to a bigger machine, so I bought
myself an AMIGA 500. ( Oh yeah
remember kick1.2!! ;) )
When I got this machine, I didn't
really know any other Amiga owners, so
it wasn't so cool. I only knew a few
dudes, who didn't really get anything.
So I didn't know anything about the
scene, but one day a guy called
Raistlin called me and asked if I
would join their group as a swapper.
This group was "Disorder". I joined,
and one week later we released a
megademo. (Remember that?) But the
group soon lived up to its name, and
it really got in disorder.
At this point I had become really good
friends with Xience of the Goonies
2041, (Hi Solnova! it's you!!) so I
and Thunderbyte asked if we could join
them, and they agreed. We joined a
group which really seemed to be cool,
but we soon discovered that all what
they cared about were boards. ( No
offene to my friends in the
modem-scene, but they anly thought
about UL!! ) We tried to get it going
for the better, so we released a
couple of intros and demos for them.
But when I asked, if I could get a
memberlist from the leader "Master
ed". He just said "Tell me what you
want and I'll get it for you." After
this I got really pissed off.
In the meanwhile Xience had joined
Deadlock and I soon followed.
Deadlock was a really friendly group,
and I enjoyed my time there very much.
But the group was slowly falling
apart, so at The Party II I joined
Majic 12.
Majic 12 was also a nice group, but in
the end I got really tired of it
because there are way too many
members, and too little friendship.
The best parts of Majic 12 were M12
Hungary (Hello Zozo, Rack, and
Avantage ) and M12 Sweden (Bop, bop,
Burton, Zyx ) So finally at the
Galemandsgilde '93 I joined the forces
of Kefrens.
This was and is a really great group
with a perfect friendship, and
everybody know each other much better
this way! At this point Polka
brothers also excisted, but more as a
joke, but soon we decided to make the
joke more realistic, and we made Polka
Brothers a real group. And as you see
we are dooing really well for the time
beaing, and we hope our fans will keep
supporting us in the future...
Remember don't be sad, be mad!!!! I'm
going insane, insane in my brain.....
About my handle, I have always used
it. It is almost the same as five in
Spanish, but even more like Bazooka in
Finnish, which happens to be the
coolest language in the world. That's
also why I must say "Hello!" to all
the nice Finns who are helping me in
learning it! "Terve" mates, keep the
finnish commeing 8)

ZZZZzzzz.....ZZZZzzz......

Don't you fall asleep now, you where
the guy who started this in the first
place!!!.....

MB: Me?? You must be kidding I'm not
tired. I'm bored to death so let's go
on..

You will probably soon reach the top
of the charts for being the best
swapper. What do You do to be so
popular?

ZIP: That really a tough one!! I
really don't know what to answer here,
but I must say that I couldn't do
without all my really good friends out
there, and I must thank each and every
one who vote for me... THANKS mates,
I love you!! eeehhh.... well
allmost.. ( he had to write "almost"
becourse of his girlfriend!!! ;) )
Thanks again my friends, and may the
power be with us all...

MB: How much time do you spend on
    Your contacts?

ZIP: Well that all depends on how
much spare time I've got. But I spend
almost every free minute with my
computers. So it is hard to say, but
according to my girlfriend I spend too
much time with all that machinery...
I think I spend atleast 2-3 hours aday
on my computer, but as you know I'm a
carpenter. and I'm fulltime imploied,
and then I have alot of extra work
that I do for friends, and their
money!!! yeah.... Money talk ;)

MB:I want You to describe what the
following words means for You.
ZIP:
Elite: A nice person that know more
than just how to put stamps on
       letters!

Friendship: You can't live with it
            nor without... ;)

Lamer: Not a newcommer to the scene,
       but somebody really stupid...
       Luckely I don't know many....
       Others than you.. hehehheh..
       No Offence.... just Kidding..;)

Hacker: No comment!! but I know how
too, and a couple of 'em

Cyberspace: Really the next best
            thing to beeing there..

MB: Sometimes You read the following
words from your new contacts "Hope
that you are not one of those
diskstealers". My opinion to this is
that the disks is today so cheap so
why care if You losing a disk or two.
It's a risk You got to take. What's
is your advise to people who are
afraid for disk-thiefs?

ZIP: Wohh. I'm getting scared!!
Well no, if you try writing to me then
you are sure of getting an answer,
becourse I have never let an letter
been unanswered.. But I really don't
see the point, ofcourse it lame to
keep the disks if you write 100%
answer or stuff like that. But if you
don't write anything, it on you own
risk... Thats life... I don't will
everytime I buy a lotteriticket
eighter.. My advise if you wants a
lucky number then you should try
sending a letter to me.
MB: Here some more stupid questions!

I'll give you some picture-formats but
there is some who not fits in this
category. Your job is to sort out the
bad formats.

BMP, Iff, Mpeg, Jpeg, Tiff, FLC, Gif,
Ham, PCX and DL

ZIP: Mpeg, FLC, & DL these are
animationformats... And remember I'm
also swapping Pictures and Modules, so
try your luck. all formats are
welcome.......

MB: Yes I know it was easy but let's
go on with some serious qustions.
What do you think about Girls / Womens
in the scene? And why are they so
few?. What's your advise to a
noviser-girl?

ZIP: I thinks it is really good for
the scene, to have some girls. In
someway I don't thinks that many girls
are intrested in the scene itself, but
I know many girls who use computers.
But then again I ain't really the
right one to answer this question, you
should try to aske some active, and
inactive scenegirls.. they are really
the only ones capeble of answering...
And my advise to the girls is, just
come out of you hideouts, and do
something about it... You could drop
my a letter, and then I will try to
get you more into the scene if you
arfe intrested!!!
