a flat country/party report by Browallia

At the Busstation for getting to TP 3rd
time in a row we met Crilla/Wrath Designs
who was busy in putting stickers over all
and everything about their 4k tracetro for
the Party.

The bustrip was arranged by Fairlight and
Cascada as usual and since Sweden is a
quite big country, a last meal was done
before getting onboard the ship from
Gothenburg.

We were good prepared for the party, which
was unusual and had a almost finished demo.
Only some details were missing...
...like the mainpart music, a demologo and
some objects. Somehow, we have always been
sitting in the 3rd hall, so this year was
no exception. But we could have taken a
better place, since it was pretty cold
there in the corner, close related to a
garage exit for Lobbies.. We fixed up our
banner (nowadays they are not very common
at parties!) and it sure looked assume.
Maybe just beaten by 3LEs banner in shape
of a pirate flag with the elk and crossed
bones.

The first night, an organizer woke Sleipner
up telling you cant sleep under the table
due to the fire risc. What a pitty I guess,
and I guess we continued to sleep there
just as anybody else :-)

the first 25 hours we dealt with computing
and eating, nothing cool experience at all
:-) so lets make a jump to the demodead-
line.
Together with some guys from Powerline, we
ran for giving our demo 'Atlantica'.
>>Running>> since the deadline was passed
with 2-3 hours. Also getting anxiously
since another group werent allowed only
passing with some minutes we heard. We had
luck, everybody happy.

Sleipner was not that satisfied with the
multichannelcompo, where he'd left over his
GOA/Trance contribution. It was to many
compos influenced by silly piano melodies
(or, using his words: piano-fjong-songs).

In the democompo, our entry was one of the
very last shown. We got some attention for
two things: the funnel-effect for its
orginality (applause), and the dolphin's
acrobatic movements (laughs) going like
this:
-> Dolphin in water moves to
-> dolphin in air.
-> stop in the air.
-> turn the Z-axis so dolphin nose
   is pointing towards water surface
-> dive back into water.

Quite mechanik with other words.
but dont forget that a laugh is better than
a silent audience!

After the Amiga demoshow we went back to
our tables, some Bomb members visited us
and wanted to show their demo agian on our
computers.
-Bombiii, shouted the frenchmen when their
logo showed up.

After that I took my robot arm with claws
for grabbing floppys and an embedded
cigarette lighter just fooling around, or
tried to make improvements in the dolphine
cordinates. The Party VI was great, and for
us it wasnt much sleep during the days. The
releases werent that very out-sticking for
futuristical rememberings, but still
general, good releases!

The Bugfix of Atlantica came in the
beginning of January 1997. But since
that is outside this text,
its time to stop now.

See you all at TP VII !
