ESTRUP & THE OFFICIAL EUROCHART Written by Magic/Mirage Since Crusaders started this magazine way back in 1990, it has always been a good motivation for scener's to continue there work and made them proud for being so high in a certain chart. When Static Bytes continued the magazine when Crusaders stopped producing it, everybody seemed happy again? Or not? Let's find out in this story I have written; 'Everything you always wanted to know about The Official Eurochart but were afraid to ask.' Ofcourse this article is partly realised by Estrup himself! In real life they call him Christain! His sure name is Estrup, (This also Explaines his Handle) and is 21 years of age. He lives with his girlfriend in a small apartment in a town called Lyngby, around 15 minutes by car from Copenhagen. And he just finished his computer science study. Magic: Can you tell our dear readers about Static Bytes, the members, and the produktions which are planned? Well according to rumours, Sauron is now working for Funcom in Norway.I'am not sure - should he however, suddenly fell like confirming this to me, he is of course welcome to do so, no further comments! Than we have Buck. But he doesnt have much time for coding these days, even though he did get himself an A1200+HD!In 1993 we let Fashion and Friendly join Static Bytes although they live in Germany! The reason for this was because we couln'd find nice people to contribute to our overall creative process in Denmark.Ofcourse we made some jokes about this. For example on a certain picture in 1 of the EC's a picture from Fashion is displayed with the text: 'How could we let a german join ?' On the productive side we are busy with a musicdiskfrom Cutcreator. And a Trackmo called:'Kept Promises' coded by me! Also we had some plans to make a Alternitive Eurochart, meant to give unknown, talented groups a change but those stayed on the planning level and were meant for nothing but pure, and unspoiled fun! As Estrup told me, he still enjoys making the Eurochart! He will only quit when he or people in the scene don't like it anymore. Furthermore if Static Bytes decites to quit, another group may continue it! But they will first discuss this with Crusaders if or when it becomes relevant! They will also stop making the Eurochart when they only get around 50 votes a issue! Magic: Whats your oppinion about other charts and especially "The Charts" from the Italien group RamJam. In general, I think competition is good, because it makes people improve their work. However, that doesn't mean I like the other charts in the scene - I haven't even seen all of them, and I think my opinion on the most popular ones is well-known! About The Charts I like to say that The Eurochart is much better, especially with the features from issue 25 and on! If I get the oppertunity I would like to have a conversation with Posdnuos and maybe he can tell me how his handle is pronounced! When we talked on, Estrup told me about the two musicians who faked the votes in some issues, also his thought about the votesheet with Nazi-symbols from Messersmidt of S!P. His first thought was 'Hm!' when he saw that particulary votesheet. He also told me about his involement with the Danish division of Black Legend Software. He mainly is the contact between Black Legend and it's developement teams in Denmark! Although he hopes to start coding something seriously soon. In normal Live he doesn't have plans for childeren for the first couple of years but he says that Fashion will be the first with that! Magic: Well thank you for this informative conversation! If you have still some things on your mind, please say it now or forever hold your breath! Well, only this: If any of you haven't seen the AGA-Version of The Official Eurochart yet, DO IT! You don't know what you're missing. For voting, ads, subscriptions or anything else, write me at: Christian Estrup, Nybrovej 304-s5,2800 Lyngby, Denmark or call: (+45) 4597 4905 Magic/Mirage
