I N T E R V I E W The following pages consist of an Interview made via phone by FLITE of $ceptic with RADAR and (CONTRAST) of R^C^P / BIG! Design I interviewed RADAR during he was lying on his bed! The answers for Contrast were friendly given from him, too! So don`t blame me for the Contrast parts, ok CONTRAST? If you want to get Interviewed by me then let me know, or if you want to Interview somebody who`s doing Chipmusic, then don`t hesitate and do! But now I should let start the Interview I`ve done on a rainy sunday morning! let us start ... WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND AGE? Radar: Yo, my handle is RADAR of R^C^P and the name my parents gave to me is Martin and I`m 20 years old now! (And it is in the morning on Sunday!!!!). Contr: Glump, my handle is CONTRAST of R^C^P and my real name is Daniel. My age is 19 and my sex is (fe)male! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - HOW LONG DO YOU DO MUSIC ON COMPUTER AND WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE? Radar: Well, I started 4 years ago on the Soundtracker. From there on I used any of the clones named Noise- Star and Protracker! Since one year now I do music on synthesizer in combination with MIDI on the ATARI (still using the AMIGA in combination with the Atari, `cause you can do things with the protracker you can not do on most of the synths!). Contr: For me is the same, but i started years ago on the good old BREAD-BOX -> C=64 <- ( Funny mashine)! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WHAT DO YOU THINK IS EASIER TO DO, CHIPTUNES OR REAL TUNES? Radar: Chiptunes are much easier, because you can set the samples my using mathematical formulars, cuz` they are made mathematical! The samplequality must not be as high as it have to be for real tunes. You need no long melody because a average chiptune is about 5 to 6 pattern and so you need no long symphony! I need about 4 to 7 days for a Chippy and about 1 to 6 month for a real tune. (ed. up to a half year, really??). - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WHAT DO YOU DO BESIDE COMPUTER? Radar: Well, as every freak in my age i go out for PARTYS (meet girls ...) and have sum phun in the Disco at the evenings! To keep in condition I play BASKETBALL! Contr: Sex drugs and Rock`n Roll :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - WHAT KINDA MUSIC DO YOU HEAR? Radar: I like NON COMMERCIAL TECHNO and INDEPENDENT MUSIC! I hate this LAME ZAX like 2U, Culture Beat, Capella and so on! Contr: Everything Intelligent and uncommercial. (The more unknown the better) WELL, IT WAS SAID THAT YOUR CD HOPEFULL TOWNS WAS A BIG FLOP, IS THAT RIGHT? Radar: Well, YES! But let me say some more words about the facts! We began to record the songs in a REAL Studio! The 1st tunes became great quality and a good mix! But then we wanted to release the CD on the Black Monks Possessed Party! So we had just some small 2 weeks left! The fact is, that the quality went down each day the party became closer and closer! So at the end a dude from the studio (seems to be a lamer) made shit on the mix-technique and so the rest of the songs became a lousy quality! Today i think the kinda music we did is tooooo commercial! But, ok! We failed! Contr: Nothing more to say :( WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SCENE GUYS IN MUSIC, GRAFIK AND CODING? AND WHAT IS YA FAVOURITE DEMO! RADAR: Music: 1) Heatbeat (he is mega kewl!) 2) Romeo Knight (Good Ideas) 3) Jester (kewl techniques) Grafik: 1) Fade One 2) Danny Coder: 1) Chaos / Sanity 2) All coder from VD / FLT 3) Wayne Mendoza / Masque Demos: 1) Full Moon / VD 2) Desert Dream / Kefrens 3) Black Zone / Masque By the way: Origin / Complex is mega lame! CONTR: Music: 1) Heatbeat 2) Nuke Demos: 1) Arte / Sanity 2) 9Finger / Spaceballs Well, that should be the end now! It is sunday morning and I haven`t sleeped the whole night! I think i have to go to bed now.! C U Soon in another Interview! ... Signed, FLite (ed.)
