This is a tiny report of the Amiga Industries & TRSI /// Kickin' Ass Party \\\ written by 'The Pincher of Vertical'. Some of you may know that I have been incognito for 6 weeks, I have been in a sanatorium in Saarland where hard conditions rule e.g. you mustn't leave this house overnight and actually you aren't allowed to drive home, too. OK, the AI&TRSI took place in Dinkelbuehl/ Bavaria on 3./4. August so I had to find an excuse to stay overnight, I told the guys in the office that I wanna leave for the weekend coz my mother has got birthday on 4th and speaking of excuse is false... yep, it's true my mother got birthday on that day but I didn't go there but phoned with JPN/Vertical several times first of all we didn't know whether driving or not, eventually we drove coz some other already promised to come.On 12.30 pm we (JPN, Cube and me) arrived in Dinkelsbuehl and the first we got to do woz to let Cube outside the car, he felt rather sick and looked forward to some fresh air... otherwise he would have puked... perhaps he did, hehe, who knows?? OK, all the people were already in the old 'TSV gym' so we followed Andy's father to the party-place. And what was the first thing I recognized, yeah, it was the 'always-red' head of Andy/AI. Something different: Ask for his sister, she's quite pretty and has got a friend... argh!!! We were one of the first who came. The entrance fee was pretty expensive, each of us had to pay DM 20,- and in this prize were included: using the building, one Szenator-Beer (Special Brew - Strong Lager Beer) and as many prezels as you wanted. At the entrance you got a ribbon for your hand after having paid The hall was fairly big for the amount of people who came, there was a small stage with 2 Amigas on it and 2 good boxes. The first Amiga showed very, very old demos (digitezed sounds, logo scroller...?!), let's say legendary demos from the beginning of the Amiga scene, I enjoyed this crap coz I haven't seen these demos for years know!! The other Amiga was used by Flic Flac/UFO and Delta/TRSI, they tried to finish their cooperation intro for the Kickin' Ass party. From time to time more people showed up but the hall couldn't be filled: It was pretty interesting to see all the legends of the scene, of course there were no kidz but adults hanging around I hope I can list them all... George 2 of Subway, Amicon, RADWAR, John Player Flynn * Delta * Dr. Beat * Bobby Quine of Tristar/Red Sector, Outbound, many guys from Spreadpoint, F-16, UFO (Coke wozn't there, he was hitch-hicking anywhere in deep France!), Wizards, Antiprotect, NMI, Mike of Bitkillersoft (he came directly from Heath- row to Nuernberg), FACTOR 5, Beermacht, Decton, Greg, Ego, Blackman, Peter Parker, Phil * Haegar Kongoman of Thrust, Armin of Supplex, Harry of Abakus, Sysop's of Flying Saucer (also Spreadpoint), TIP, one from the CACHET firm, a guy from 'seven eleven' and the well-known Zeropage - I hope I haven't forgotten anyone, but it could be that some guys came very late that means anywhen in the evening... we decided to drive early in the evening and so we did. Many fellows were on the stage to see the demos and to chat around but also many guys left the building for having fun outside. The most people were good programmers or other freaks so you heard only words and sentences concerning any professional subjects. A standard Amiga user (that is to say a disk-xcopy-lamer) wouldn't find his kind of fun. Girls?? Yes, there have been some girls... Phil brought a girlie with him, seems to be a good friend of him, and all the time girls were walking down the road.. everytime the brother of Peter Parker got a stiffie coz he got very nervous as seeing the attractive women. Bullshitting the girls made some persons being obtrusive but as long the hords of (ex-) computer freaks got fun everything was alright, hehehe!!! At 7 o'clock (of course 'after' having smoked the grass) we started journey JPN's home where I stayed for the night. to The next day we tried to find a accetable italian restaurant but nothing everything had closed at this time... our last resort: McDonalds, aaawuerg.... THIS MEETING WAS PRETTY NICE COZ SOME OLD AND LEGENDARY PEOPLE WERE THERE AND OF COURSE SOME OF THE BEST AMIGA PROGRAMMERS OF GERMANY... ARTICLE BY PINCHER/ VERTICAL!
