WiseGuy;  Hi,  im  writing  for  the  Retro staff, and wonder if you got any
points  of  view?   I know we aint that professional.  But we make our best,
Soda  (ex  Psycho)  our  main  ed  did  not  quite like your rewieve in last
Generation, care to give any comments?

RokDaZone; On what? 

WiseGuy; Well about Retro? 

RokDaZone;  Errr,  I  wrote  the  review, I wrote a counterstatement and you
received another article from me.  I wonder what I could comment more?

WiseGuy;  Wrong start ;) What do you think about new magz from rather unknow
groups  such  as Retro, we know we can compete with Generation and such, but
should  all releases be professional made?  i mean dont we have the scene to
have  fun?   Have  the scene become to much competive?  Begin to look like a
interview this!  do you mind?

RokDaZone; The problem is, that I don't have so much time, but some minutes.
Ok.   Competition  is  fun and the scene started out of competition.  But in
the  early  days  it  was  destructive  competition,  nowadays  its (mostly)
friendly.

WiseGuy;  Have  the  scene  become  to  much commercial, and perhaps to less
competive?   You  can  see  that many releases these days, with exception of
party releases.

RokDaZone;  Competition, actually, there is a good competition going on, but
people  seem  to  fear it.  I don't know what happened to all these midiocre
slayers  ofd 1988 to 1992, but nowadays it seems fashionable to see a danger
in  money  and  power.   I  am  for  a friendly competition which means that
although  I  represent  Generation,  I  still can be helpful and friendly to
others, maybe support them.

WiseGuy;  So  we can perhaps see a guest article from you in Retro some time
in the future then?

RokDaZone; Guest article?  You already received two for the second issue, so
I guess:  Yes, if you print them...  :)

WiseGuy;  Btw:   I'm only a writer for Retro I dont have a clue on what Soda
has  got from various guys, he have nagged me for several days now (under my
bloody  exams!!!)  so  I  just  catch  up today, and yes I surely think your
articles  will  come  in Retro 2 :) So what is your thoughts about the scene
today, amiga in the future, is the powerups gonna do us any good?

RokDaZone;  The  scene  today  is highly productive and quite professionally
structured.   But  it  is  also small and highly influenced by third parties
like PC but also gameconsoles.  The PowerUps are from their construction not
the  best solution surely, I would have preferred a virtual engine or a full
PPC-lead  kernel.   But it's the best solution we have.  The Scene will need
quite  some  time to understand that with PPC a powerful instrument is given
to  us.   Some already did like Manta/Elven Eleven, but we also needed a lot
of time with the AGA-range, didn't we?

WiseGuy;  Do  you  think  it  will be possible to see a PPC demo on next big
party after THE PARTY, i.e The Gathering here in Norway?

RokDaZone;  PPC-Demo?   I  know  that Manta is going for a PPC-Card which he
most  probably  will  receive  in  January.   He  will then start as soon as
possible  working  with  it  and also Pink/Abyss wants one, like he told me.
Regarding this, i think that the first PPC-Demos might be available by maybe
the Symposium if Manta will go there.

WiseGuy;  That  sounds  promissing,  I know some sceners here in Norway have
bought PPC for xmas to ;) perhaps even i can afford one....  what about you?
will you find any ppc under the xmas three this year?

RokDaZone;  I  ordered a CyberstormPPC604e/150 Mhz in November, but a couple
of  days after that, Motorola stopped shipping out the CPU.  At the moment I
can't  afford  a  180 or 200Mhz version...  I guess I will go for 68k in the
next  weeks  and  switch  to PPC as soon as the 250Mhz CPU is available as I
expect a drop of 20% maybe 30% for 180/200Mhz versions.

Since RokDaZone was short of time and I recieved my phonebill today (yikes!)
we ended our little chat after this.  I wish him good luck in the pursuit of
a PPC card and a merry xmas & happy new year ;)
