Interview with Jason / Lemon. / CRS
-------------------------------------
by Dolphin

Ed. Please introduce yourself with
som personal information, like your
previous groups, future plans etc.

Jsn. Jepp,I am an 18 year old bloke
from the country of lovely women...
N o r w a y! I would die for MUSIC,
and computer technology. My line of
groups goes like this:
DEADLINE-->KEFRENS-->SILENTS-->CRS---
-->L E M O N. !!  My future plans are
like sleeping and drinking milk..nah.
Well, I am about to release a MUSIC-
DISK, and some music for a Lemon.-
intro... a tune for this mag and some
background accoustics for Bjorn Lynne
and his AM/FM series...Also music for
2 games from Black Legend is coming
your way...

Ed. Not long ago, you joined the
notorious group Crusaders. Currently
this group looks a bit unproductive.
Can you say a few words about what
the situation is in Crusaders today?
If there are any, can you reveal some
future plans or coming productions?

Jsn. Hehe..a BIT unproductive?? CRS
are a bunch of guys that had their
active priod during the late
eighties. Some of them are getting
married, and they settle down, gets
kids,,etc.. BUT since I know these
guys, I manage to have GREAT FUN
together with them, and I look upon
The Crusaders (TM) as a group of
friends.. NOT an active
scenegroup..That's not why I joined..
I joined because of the friendship!
You should not expect very much soft-
ware productions from CRS, but of-
course,The Gathering'94 will blow yer
mind next easter!! sTaY tUnEd!!

Ed. As an accepted, popular
musician, you probably don't have
this kind of problem, but I'm talking
about newcomers. It seems to me that
fame may come before talent at music
competitions. It seems to me that
the judging is somewhat unfair.
Sometimes famous persons get picked
out, due to lack of time. (E.g the
organizers haven't got enough time to
listen to all entries.) What do you
think of this? Is it a problem?

Jsn. This is a well known problem
among all newcoming musicians. The
feeling of being ignored as a starter
is very depressing. When you say that
the unfairness is caused by lack of
time, I do not quite agree. In compe-
titions at parties, the goal is to
make a tune that fetches the
audience's attention emediately from
the very beginning of the tune. This
seems to be very hard for many of the
newcoming musicians. They tend to
enter the competition with tunes that
are not very strong in the opening...
This may sound like bullshit, but
since the juries usually consists of
random picked people with little
musical knowledge, you have to compo-
se a tune that has an interesting
opening, so that the jury will notice
it. Wellknown and experienced musici-
ans usually know how to take
advantage of this, and they DO IT!
I can understand many of the bitter
guys out there, that have been turned
down in competitions, but this is
just the way it is... Most contests
are d i r t y ! but you have to know
how to get in the backdoor.
(just as a reminder: Both Jester and
Nuke was let down in the music-compo
at THE PARTY 2 in Denmark, Des.93 )

Ed. Many musicians have been hired
to make music for games. Have you
ever made music for software firms?
If not, would you have concidered to
make music commercialy?
Jsn. Yes, I have recently composed
some music for the game ADDICTIVE!
from Black Legend, and are doing in-
game tunes for two other games right
now. (Also for PC that is).

Ed. The Amiga scene has lasted for
many years now. With the death of
the A500, do you think the scene as
we now it will continue voyaging into
1994 and perhaps even 1995?

Jsn. The scene will definately conti-
nue its existence through many years
looking forward...This I say, because
at this time, the scene is so
incredible big, and it would be impo-
ssible for the whole system to just
shut down.I think the scene will grow
even more interesting now, after the
appearance of the AGA-chipset.
(talking about A1200 & A4000).

Ed. Thank you for your cooperation!
Now you have some space where you can
write messages to friends, relatives
whatever.
