¹Alan of IMPACT INC. was interviewed by Chester of BRAINSTORM.
³-Tell us the story of IMPACT.
¹IMPACT INC. started on the C64 in july 85 approx. I dont remenber who found the name IMPACT, at first we had 4 members, after some cracks we kicked one (he was a lazy man).
We cracked lot of games and also problems came, the parents, because we spend too much time with the computer, the phone note was also not small. The parents didn't like all those movements! They didn't understand what we made on this computer each night (they asked them why they bought it!). At last IMPACT had only 2 members (me and Headraster), but we didn't want to stop at all! So, IMPACT cracked more and more games and soon we reached the French Scene top (I found it was our best time - I don't remember how much games we broked - but each day was a new full fun day!).
After summer IMPACT had a big break. Afterwards a good friend of mine got an Amiga 500 (this guy is THL), he made his first demo under the name IMPACT that I reformed, we got swap-friends and found a musician called MOBY, after this some guys joined us. We made some demos and Soundisks. Our main purpose consist in having fun time.
³-Introduce yourself...
¹I'm the founder of IMPACT on Amiga, also the leader, the main-coder, and swapper. Im 20 years old, I don't like games except Kick OFF (Yo Moby! are you ready for a new defeat), but I prefer demos. I like listening for ever Joe Satriani (it was my first real concert, 1000 klm for 2 hours full fun! and a wonderful trip (remember Moby!)).
I'm crazy about Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Stuart Ham, Van Halen, UZEB, Yves-Choir, L-Reed, Steve Stevens, Guns'n Roses, too... I stop here but try to get last Steve Vai LP!
³-Give us the current memberslist with their functions.
¹ TYSON - Swapper
DAN - Swapper
SYBEX - Drawer
THL - Coder
JOSE - Coder
TUS - Swapper
DRAKKY - Swapper
³-Do you like magazines?
¹Sometimes I find interesting news about games but I'm fed up with adverts which do this kind of mags!
³-What do you prefer, mags on paper or on disk?
¹I prefer mags on disk because it's less boring than mags on paper. Interviews are a very good idea but why not rank the best countries beers?
³-That's a quite good idea, too. Anyway, what is the final aim of IMPACT? Do you want to start cracking, training?
¹It's now a race against time to crack games, foreign crackers are to fast so we prefer making trainers. I made my two first trained games last week, so watch out for new ones.
³-What do you think about cracking and training?
¹As long as I won't be a professional coder I will be agree of course! I'm full of respect for crackers work! For training they are more and more unworking versions, so be careful and check your work!! No names...
³-Alan, you are a coder. Tell us about your new plans.
¹Currently there are trainers and we will see demos later. But try to get my latest demo Generation 4.
³-What about other sections in other countries?
¹We don't need sections at all...
(We talk on in the next article..)
(..continued.)
³-Do you want to have new members?
¹Of course we are looking for new members! Contact me...
³-Give us the chart of the groups in France.
¹In France the best are - Paradox, Dragons, Doxos. It's just my opinion so make your own, I don't include IMPACT INC. in this chart.
³-Do you know Switzerland, the people, the parties, the groups, the food?
¹The people seems to be very cool, ATZ party was nice (except the fuckings DJ), great groups, nothing to reproach about food. It's a very nice expensive country (!?)
³-You are right, Switzerland is terrible expensive! You like demos. Rank the best ones.
¹No, I can't bear demos! (joke!!)
No names just a rank of the best crew demos-maker: Scoopex
Red Sector Inc.
Kefrens
Rebels
Phenomena
³-Since which issue do you read ZINE?
¹I start on the issue 3 and conserve them because it's the best disk-mag. Others are only imitation...
³-What about your favorites personalities in the scene?
¹What a question! It's me... In fact I like every reliable people! And my favorites are Scoopex, RSI, REBELS for their demos.
³-How many disks do you have?
¹250 approx and I don't need more. I collect demos, not disks!
³-Do you know the Crusaders Euro-Charts? What do you think about'em?
¹It's giga bullshit...
³-What is your opinion on stickers?
¹My jacket is full of stickers!
³-What sort of hardware do you use?
¹Amiga 500, +512, +3.5 and a great stereo amplifier!
³-Do you like other computers, too?
¹PC, Atari, Archimedes, C64 (of course!)
³-You can spread own productions by modem, mail or copy-parties. What do you prefer?
¹Only mail, but modem seemed to arrive. I prefer the mail or copyparties. I think modem kill mail swappers and the relationship are not the same...
³-Do you like Amiga-sound? Which musician do you like best?
¹I like them but I think it's a good idea to make a comeback to the C64 tunes!
I think the best musician are:
Moby
Uncle Tom
Romeo Knight
Nightlight
and for games Maniac of Noises
³-Will you ever code a game?
¹Perhaps, with gfx from Sybex, but nothing is sure yet.
³-At last, you can say something to your parents, pets, (girl-)friends:
¹Thanks... hellos to IMPACT INC. members and to all my friends:
Manu, Moby, Voix, JF, Skywalker, Pascal, DMX, Sophie.
³Thanks for answer these qustions, bye...
