holidays, meaning the 30th/31st of August 1997. An
official opening of the party will be conducted at 10:00AM
sharp. Of course everyone who will arrive earlier will be
invited inside.

Just as the last time, the place where the party will be

location),

Here is a list of organisers of competitions for each of

                           7. ADDITIONAL RULES
                           8. CONCLUSIONS

That's it concerning the introdcution, let us now get down
to business...

 1. PARTY

- just as before - a BIG big-screen (8m cross-section) and
a smaller one as a backup,
- 1700 seats, the more people come to the party the bigger
  the prizes will be,
- concert-hall-style sound,
- internet connection,
- rave party, strobes, mist generators, etc.,
- a quiet sleeping-room for party-animals tired of
  animated wacky dancing... :)
- party t-shirts,
- manga room,
- vote-counting presented on the big screen (99%
probability that this will be achieved),
- live interviews (motion-camera and internet) presented on
  the big screen,
- selected "use your illusion here..." spots, one of them
might be quite a surprise... you'll be amazed, you'll see! :)
- just as before - bar/buffet open 24h/day,

2. CRAZY COMPOS

here are some of the proposals:

- line compo, the most multi-platform compo ever, ment to
select the most powerful scene group...

- dyna compo, you know what...

- bag compo, during which we will select the quickest
  swapper on the scene...

- worms compo, you will need a sleeping bag and quite a bit
  of agility and endurance...

- blood content level compo, Zig is disqualified by
  definition :)

- banana compo, ment only for couples...

and many others, proposed by Cedyn/Shadows, which means
that we will have double the number of crazy compos.
Definitely nobody will be bored...

3. COMPETITIONS

Amiga & PC

Compo machines - the productions must run smoothly on one of
                 the following hardware configurations:

CRX 200 Mhz, 32 Mb Ram, SVGA TSENG 6000, GUS 1 MB,

Just on Warlock's machine...:)

Amiga 1200, Blizzard IV 030, 50 Mhz, 8 Mb Fast, HD,

The fact that your productions should be running on such
machines is only a formal requirement. This means that, if
for example a demo will not run correctly on an 040 or 060,
we will try it on a standard Amiga with 030-50 MHz.

demo competition

    - the demo should take no more than 10 minutes,
    - the demo should consume no more than 5 MB disk
space, we will take into consideration exceptions
      to this rule,
    - "exitability" to DOS after the demo is over is
absolutely required to take part in the competition,
    - demos with "borrowed" graphics, textures, music or
code will not pass selection, independent of whose
      demo it will be,
    - all demomaker-productions will end up in the crazy
      demo competition,

64 kb intro competition

    - the intro should take no more than 5 minutes,
    - the intro cannot be larger than 64kB meaning 65536
      bytes,
    - "exitability" to DOS after the intro is over is
absolutely required to take part in the competition,
    - intros with "borrowed" graphics, textures, music or
code will not pass selection, independent of whose
      intro it will be,

4 kb intro competition

    - the intro should take no more than 5 minutes,
    - the intro cannot be larger than 4kB meaning 4096
      bytes,
    - "exitability" to DOS after the intro is over is
absolutely required to take part in the competition,

crazy demo compo (Amiga, PC and Falcon platforms all
together)

    - the demo should take no more than 10 minutes,
    - the demo should consume no more than 10MB disk
      space,
    - demos exhibiting real sick humour might not pass
      the selection..
    - it is possible that some of the more "untypical"
productions entered in the demo competition will
      end up in this compo...

vhs competition

    - we only take vhs cassettes, no other formats,
    - the demo should take no more than 10 minutes,
    - in order to enter the competition it is necessary to
specify the place and time of production on the tape,

graphics competition

    - the picture must be submitted in one of the
following formats: IFF-ILBM, JPG or GIF,
    - the disk containing the picture should contain
information on what hardware do you expect the graphics
to be displayed (Amiga AGA or PC SVGA 24-bit),
    - the size of the picture must not exceed 640x512
(Amiga) or 640x480 (PC), larger work will be
converted to the above formats if time allows,
therefore we cannot guarantee that the quality of the
      picture will be maintained,
    - only one picture per person,
    - the picture cannot be a scan, redrawing or "borrowed",

ray competition

    - the picture must be submitted in one of the
following formats: IFF-ILBM, JPG or GIF,
    - the disk containing the picture should contain
information on what hardware do you expect the graphics
to be displayed (Amiga AGA or PC SVGA 24-bit),
    - the size of the picture must not exceed 640x512
(Amiga) or 640x480 (PC), larger work will be
converted to the above formats if time allows,
therefore we cannot guarantee that the quality of the
      picture will be maintained,
    - only one picture per person,
    - the picture cannot contain "borrowed" objects or
      textures,

music competition (multi & 4 Ch.)

    - we will play a module for 5 minutes, no more,
    - only about 10-15 modules which will undergo earlier
selection will be presented in public,
    - the module must be entered in a format which will
allow it to be played on either Protracker or
      Fasttracker,

Everyone interested in details on the competitions for the
Atari and C64 platforms will find necessary information in
the invitations prepared for these platforms.

4. PRIZES

The prizes below are valid if the number of sold tickets
will reach 900. The real prizes will therefore be adjusted
up or down dependent on the number of party guests.

5. RULES

a. HOW TO SUBMIT A PRODUCTION ?

Your work will be accepted directly in the selection room.

In order to have your work accepted for competition you
must supply information on the author of the work, name of
the competition and the title of your production in the
same catalogue as your work on the disk, or directly
written on the disk.

We will allow the possibility of copying larger productions
derectly from HD. In order to do this you must come to the
selection room with your HD and ask.

All productions must be delivered to the organisers before
the selected hour. Due to the large number of competitions
we cannot guarantee that work that will be entered late
will take part in the competition at all.

If there will be problems getting a demo or an intro to run
the author will be called into the selection room. If
similar problems will occur during the competition itself,
the author will be asked to deliver their HD to the control
room and to run the demo himself/herself. There will be no
such chance after the competition is over.

b. VOTING

In order to submit a valid vote, you must:

 - have a vote-sheet...;)

 - enter the start number of the production in the correct
   space on the vote-sheet,

 - enter at least ONE start number of a production (we
have decided on voting by numbers and not by names, due
to the possibility of online vote-counting)

 - submit your vote-sheet before the selected hour,

Just as in th past, one vote must be submitted by ONE
person. "Stacks" of vote-sheets will end up in the
trashcan.

c. HOW TO RESERVE A TABLE ? (free of charge)

In order to reserve a table to put your machine on, all
you need to do is send your data to the following address:

    gravity@polbox.com

Reservation that will not be confirmed as received and
accepted is considered invalid!

All you need to do is submit your alias, group, type of
computer and your internet address.

Remember to bring long cables to hook up your machines!

Organisers cannot guarantee a table unless it will be
reserved before the party.

6. HOW TO REACH THE PARTY ?

Opole is located in a straight way between two biggest
polish cities like Wroclaw and Katowice so we hope you
will have no problems to get to the party place.

The "GWARDIA" hall is only 300m away from the main train
station (Opole Glowne, PKP) in Opole. Therefore in order
to get to the party, you should:

- when in the main hall of the train station, walk to the
exit leading to platforms 3,4 and 5.

- turn to the right and walking along the platform 4 reach
  the bridge

- when on the bridge turn right and walk along the Reymont
street reaching the student-hotel (internat) located at
the turn of the main road,

- before the student-hotel turn left (along the main road)

- at the nearest forklike-crossing choose the street
  leading to the right,

- walk for about 100m and on the right you should see a
large building. This will be the sports hall "GWARDIA",
  our party-place.
