\I[Party Remedy '96|By Note/NewAge|Section: Festivity] \F2\4\MParty Remedy '96 \M- Party Report \F1\3 \C[ClipArts/pinnen.Chnk] With a great lack of motivation I entered the expensive train to Stockholm to visit Party Remedy this year. The last years edition was a real bad party according to all who were there that I have talked to. The expectations wasn't too high. The real reason for me to visit Remedy was that I had to write about it in AmigaInfo, a new Swedish papermag. \2The train trip was quite amusing, sitting down with Nike and Chewie discussing with a drunk criminal that just had got out of prison and found Jesus. After some mistakes, for example taking the wrong underground-line, we were there. Well, what to say, the party wasn't as bad as I had expected. Unfortunately most visitors were traders and that is why so much shit has been written about this party. The only worthy party report about Remedy so far has been written in ROM. The rest are made by modem-maniacs, trashing traders and superkewl Sysops. I have to say that Remedy '96 was one of the most funny parties I've ever visited. That is because I spent the days in Stockholm with very amusing people, namely Chewie, DJ Cat, Nike and Vedder. We found a room that should be locked at the third floor in the hall which contained two nice and comfy sofas. A security-guard paid us a visit but some tired glances made him leave us in peace in our forbidden sleep. The competitions wasn't too good. The music-competition contained only one really good tune, Some1 & Morrow's "Bistro 2001" which won fairly. The graphics-competition contained two good pictures and those were Skutt's and Jamsam's, placed first and second. The intro-competition contained one really good intro, TBL's "Tractorbeam" that won, and the demo compo two good demos, TBL's "Darkside" and C-Lous' "Kolor Remix". Personally I think that Darkside is one of the very best demos ever because of it's wonderful music and design. Though, there are some details, like Tudor's picture "Real", that render small drawbacks when it comes to the design. I hope that the final version is even better. Unfortunately I haven't had time to watch that one yet. One bad thing was the prizes, or should I say the lack of real prizes. OS/2 Warp-t-shirts, software for PC and Porno-CD:s was handed out. Porno-CD:s as prize at a party shouldn't be accepted. Such prizes should never appear at a party that claims to call itself serious. Well, you have to understand the organizers. The party resulted in no winnings, they lost 3000SEK. I had a great time at Party Remedy '96 even if some of you traders hadn't. Skize and Skutt of Limited Edition told me that they will arrange a smaller party this autumn. Remedy '97 will probably also be a reality and that in better premises. If we are lucky these two parties will result in prize money. \C[ClipArts/pinnen.Chnk] \M\F2\1Read the alternative report \F1 \F1\3\M \S[Articles/remedyreport2.txt]\2\3Press this line to continue! \I[Some6 and Narrow's Alterative Party Report||Section: Festivity] \F2\4\MParty Remedy 1996 \M- The Alternative Party Report \F1\2 \C[ClipArts/pinnen.Chnk] One summer morning my (Some6) minicall made a beeping sound... It was my old friend Narrow who said that we just HAD(!) to go to one of the BIGGEST parties ever. This due to the fact that C+lous had some sort of a demo they wanted to compete with. We were their only hope! We also needed a tune to compete with and because we just had one day until the deadline, the tune ended up like a bistro. We took a seat on the first best train to Stockholm, and by a coincidence, Swopp, our producer, manager, bag carrier and oral support sat on the same train. After a joyful journey of appoximately two hours. Swopp tried, by all means, to guide us to the party place, miserably failing. We found that big yellow thing (Solnahallen) Frame had talked about. We entered the thing and started to search for SCOUT(en). We found him and we gave him a friendly handshake, and then disappeared to Some6's parents partyflat (where we would spend the most of our time...). On Saturday we (Some6, Narrow and SWOPP!) decided to spend our day in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. We had never been to such a big city before. All the houses were huge, and there were so many things you could do. All the girls had long golden blond hair and they had hardly no clothes at all. We tried to get contact with them but they were too extravagant. The highlight of this trip came at the afternoon. Because after this day we were quite delighted and proud to announce that we met the immortal legend... PELE (He drove by in a Saab 9000...) It's a small world... On the kvaells-kvist we had a terrible time to find a place that sold a decent mjukglass... (With many stoessels..). A big disappointment was that Swopp just bought a small ice-cream, with NO STROESSELS, when we finally found a nice ice-cream bar. Anyway, the strössels in all these nice colours tasted very good. We left the big town behind us and went back very satisfied just in time to drop our contributions before the deadline. At 23:57 o'clock we were back at the party place. By the entrance everybody's big fan SCHRIMP joined us. It was then we decided to spend the rest of the night at Some6's place. We gathered in front of a videoset with a Harman Kardon surround system. Swopp banged out and went to bed(he just had to see his big idol Randallmannen the next day). S6&NRW thought that it kvitted. The James Bond movie was better so we made the right decision. Sunday!...Me (Some6) and Swopp arrived just in time to see Randall play LIVE!!! (We thought..) But a party isn't a GOOD(!) party without delays... Narrow is not known to be a morgontupp (Swedish expression!) so he was still lying in the bath tub, but he still had time to join us before Randall started to play. After the concert (?), there was a lot amount of waiting before the competitions were going to start. Once again, we decided to move away from the party place and exploit the city of Solna! (And we can tell you all... there's nothing to see...) Now (after X hours of delay) it was time for the competitions to start (unfortunately?) Nothing interesting to tell really, you know how it is! Some competitions, delays, people waving and shouting when their own material is shown and so on. Approximately 6.30 o'clock, Monday morning Some6, Narrow and SWOPP were strolling home, eight porno CD:s richer...(Nice compo prices, snusk!) That's about it!? Party greets: KEN! / SSK \C[ClipArts/pinnen.Chnk]
