Chatting on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is easy to find some VIS, in the famous #amigascne channel. A chat can become an interview, especially if an editor is chatting with Juliet/CNCD! Randy> Hi! I will like to interview you for SHOWTIME, please, make me happy! Juliet> Everybody's interviewing me :) i have nothing to say, but go ahead. Randy> Since you are very know, your past story is not a scoop. Then I start asking: What CPU do you like most actually? Juliet> It depends... Motorola asm is really good, but Pentium got a lot of power! Randy> Do you think the scene will go 100% pc? Juliet> scene will never go purely one machine scene... there's always people supporting machines like c64 and such... amigascene goes smaller and smaller but it won't disappear totally. Randy> Compare Amiga and Pc coding. Juliet> PC has a fast chunky display, and in there's no point doing anything without c, cos c-compilers make faster code than average assembler coder. Randy> Sure. But is easier on Amiga to make well syncronized design, and the aga palette has 24bit instead of lame VGA palette. That make very nice amiga demos. Juliet> That's true... Amiga is better on that field. Randy> Well, if PowerAmigas will have a 200Mhz CPU and a chipset like the one on Playstation, but without a large market, many coders will return on amiga scene? Juliet> Dunno... i guess not. If they have learn to code PC i guess they will go on coding PC. At least PC got large market...there aren't much point making amiga commercial stuff. Randy> In fact,demos aren't commercial stuff! I also code on PC something as business activity! Juliet> True. But if you was to choose between a 1000 people who see your demo or 10 people, what would you do? Randy> In fact... Amiga scene is elite also because we are not soo much :) Do you think Internet is a must for a scener? Juliet> Well, if your group is all over the world it is a must... but a lot of scene people are living near me so i don't need it so much. Randy> What demo do you like, and why? Juliet> Faktory by VD was very good, and of course Deep Psilocybin Mix (Which is still the best demo ever, not least for the music). And on PC some Orange and Jamm stuff are good. Amiga demos are still better than PC demos. Randy> Do you like "humoristic" demos, like Passengers/3le, or "videos",like 9 Fingers? Juliet> 9 Fingers was good as was 242 because they are different. Everything different is a good thing. Randy> In fact, Amiga is different! :) Can you say something to new coders and all beginners in scene? Juliet> Hmm... drink beer, don't step on flowers, they don't like it... Make love not war. Randy> Oh! alcool and sex is important to make good routines? Juliet> Of course...don't forget drugs and rock'n'roll! :) Randy> Do you think a girlfriend cause a slow down in coding activity? Juliet> Slow down of course... people are more important than coding. Nobody likes some computer nerds who spend all their time sitting behind their computers. Randy> That is clear. Do you think when scene people will be 40 years old will go to parties, like now? Juliet> May be. not all but still. Randy> So scene people is abnormal? Scene is not a youngs domain? Juliet> I'm not saying that. Scene people are not regular guys. Randy> Ok... just a bit "different". Do you have some idols? Juliet> Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Ismo Alanko (finnish rock star) Randy> Do you hate something? Juliet> War, people who want to give orders to other people, violence, Michael Jackson, Simply Red,... Oh yes, and Prince! Randy> Ok, I finished questions. You are free to write what you want: send messages, type sentences. Juliet> Everybody should drink beer atleast once in a week, and remember to grow flowers. Randy> Thanks for chat and interview! See you next time! Juliet> :) }
