WHEN  i  HAD JOINED kEFRENS i BEGAN TO CODE A GAME LIKE THIS, AN
OTHER  GUY FROM kEFRENS SHOULD MAKE THE gfx.  i MADE THE ROUTINE
FOR  SCROLLING,  JUMPING  ONTO ELEVATORS, SHOOTINGS ETC.  BUT NO
GRAPHICS  EVER SHOWED UP.  eVERY TIME A TALKED TO HIM (rAZMO) HE
JUST  SAID:   "i NOT QUITE FINISHED DRAWING THE MAN, SO CANT YOU
GET  IT  A  LITTLE  LATER".  sO 3 MONTHS LATER i CALLED THE DEAL
OFF.   tHE  PROBLEM WITH GAMES IS THAT i DONT LIKE PLAYING THEM.
i  PLAYED  SOME  ADVENTURES  ON THE C64, BUT NEVER ON THE aMIGA.
wHEN  i SEE A GAME, i TURN ON THE TRAINER, LOOKS AT THE CODE AND
GFX,  AND  NEVER  TOUCH  THE THING AGAIN.  tHE ONLY GAMES i HAVE
PLAYED  WITHOUT  TRAINER  IS ON c64:  gHOST & gOBLINS, cOMMANDO,
pARADROID.  aMIGA:  dATASTORM, pARADROID

JUST TO GET KNOWN, OR WHAT WAS THE REASON ?

tHE  ONLY REASON TO MAKE AN IMPROVED VERSION OF THE sEKA, WAS TO
GET  AN  IMPROVED  VERSION.   i  HAD A LOT OF IDEARS OF THINGS i
WANTED  IN  IT.   sO  THE  FIRST RELEASE (sEKA v3.0) HAD SOME OF
THESE  THINGS.   wHEN PEOPLE FOUND OUT THAT i HAD THE ABILITY TO
MAKE NEW THINGS IN THE sEKA THE DEMANDS BECAME HIGHER.  tHE MAIN
THING  WAS  A NEW EDITOR IN sEKA v3.2.  bUT I HAVE NEVER SAID TO
ANYONE  THAT  i  HAD  MADE AN aSSEMBLER, BECAUSE i HADN'T, i HAD
ONLY  IMPROVED  AN  ALLREADY  EXISTING  VERSION.  i HAD PLANS OF
MAKEING  A  sEKA  v3.3,  BUT  i FOUND OUT THAT THEIR WAS SO MANY
THINGS  i  WANTED  TO  CHANGE,  SO AFTER HAVING MADE AN IMPROVED
VERSION  OF  THE  EDITOR  i REMOVED ANYTHING BUT THIS EDITOR AND
STARTED  FROM  SCRATCH.   iT  WAS  VERY  HARD  WORK.   tHE  MAIN
ASSEMBLER  PART TOOK 1 WEEK TO PLAN AND 5 DAYS TO CODE.  (fROM 8
MORNING   TO   2  NIGHT),  BUT  2-3  WEEKS  TO  DEBUG  IT.   tHE
DISASSEMBLER  TOOK 3 DAYS.  (a LOT OF TABLES HAD TO BE TYPED IN,
IT  WAS  VERY  BORRING).   tHIS  RESULTED  IN  A  FAST ASSEMBLER
ASSEMBLING 50000-70000 LINES/MINUTE, AND IT IS BOTH sEKA, dEVpAC
AND  cODEx  COMPATIBLE.   (yOU KNOW THE STUF WITH INCLUDE-FILES,
SECTIONS,  NESTED MACROS, NESTED CONTITIONAL ASSEMBLY, REPT-ENDR
STATEMENTS  AND  A  LOT  MORE).   a LOT OF OTHER THINGS HAS BEEN
MADE:   sOURCE  LEVEL  DEBUGGER, (sEE YOUR SOURCE, THE TEXT FROM
THE  EDITOR,  WHILE  SINGLE  STEPPING IT).  fULL- SCREEN MONITOR
WITH  DISASSEMBLE,  HEX  AND ASCII DUMP.  a MORE ADVANCED EDITOR

aLL  DEMOS WAS MENT TO BE GOOD.  bUT THE WORST THING i HAVE EVER
MADE  IS  A LEVEL EDITOR FOR A GAME, A GFX ARTIST WANTED TO MAKE
WITH ME.  iT WAS TOTALLY USELESS AND COULD DO NOTHING AT ALL, SO
HIS GAME PLANS WERE FORTUNATELY DROPPED.  i THINK THE WORST DEMO
WAS  THE  ONE AT THE hEXAGON PARTY IN 1988.  iT STARTED WITH THE
SPACE  CRAFT  eNTERPRISE FLYING ACROSS THE SCREEN, FOLLOWED BY A
LONG  SAMPLE,  THE  SURFACE  FROM  A PLANET SHOWED UP AND A UGLY
SCROLLER WAVED OVER THE SCREEN AND NOTHING MORE.


yOU  GOT  AN  OFFER  FROM THE DANISH tv2, WHO WANTED YOU TO CODE
THEIR NEWEST tv-SUCCES, CALLED hugo.  wHY DID YOU REFUSE TO CODE
THIS GAME?

tHE  MAIN  REASON  IS THAT i WAS CODING MY ASSEMBLER.  tHE OTHER
REASON  IS  THAT IS WAS RATHER MESSY.  tWO GUYS (sMART GUYS) HAD
TALKED WITH tv2 ABOUT MAKING A GAME TO AN ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM.
tHE  GUY c.hEAT HAD ALLREADY PRODUCED THE TWO EARLIER GAMES USED
IN  tv.  tHE NEW GUY s.wINDLER WANTED TO GET THE NEW JOB INSTEAD
OF  c.hEAT,  BUT  HE  HADN'T GOT A CODER.  sO HE CONTACTED p.mAX
(tHATS ME).  hE TOLD ME THAT c.hEAT WAS TRYING TO CHEAT, AND WAS
A SWINDLER.  i DIDN'T KNOW c.hEAT AT THAT MOMENT.  s.wINDLER NOT
EVEN WANTED ME TO CODE THE NEW GAME, BUT ALSO A MUCH BIGGER GAME
FOR  tv.   tO CODE THIS HE WANTED ME TO QUIT SCHOOL.  bECAUSE AS
HE  SAID,  i HAD TO LOOK AT LIFE IN A MUCH BIGGER PERSPECTIVE, i
HAD TO THINK ABOUT MY FUTURE.  (i COULDN'T QUITE FOLLOW HIM, BUT

PROBLEMS  HE  COULD  HAVE  FORCED ME TO QUIT MY STUDIES, AND WHO

FRIENDSHIP,  I'M  NOT  SURE.  tHEIR WILL ALWAYS BE PEOPLE MAKING
FRIENDSHIP  AND  PEOPLE  MAKING  BUSINESS.  cOMPETITION CAN BE A

THE  GROUP IS GOING TO HAVE A CHANCE TO GET FRIENDS WITH ALL THE
OTHERS,  THEY  HAVE  TO  LIVE  AS NEAR AS POSSIBLE.  iN ONE TOWN
WOULD BE A GOOD THING, BUT IT IS HARD TO FIND ONE TOWN WITH MORE
THAN ONE OR TWO GOOD CODERS/MUSIC-/GFX ARTISTS.
