The interview was done by Vector of

VECTOR:

Well, before we begin asking you all
kinds of nasty questions please tell us
something about yourself e.g. real
name, age, occupation and what
computer/sound equipment do you own?

DR.BULLY:

- Hey mum, what's my real name ?
- Wasn't it Trond Erlend Brattvoll !?
- Yeah, I think that's right...
(Really fun? Eh...)
Well, I was born early in 1972, so I
should be around 21 years old. Now I'm
working in an electrical store, and
will do that for only one year, coz
I've not finished with my study. I've
finally got my A1200, and that should
be my 8th computer since I started in
the business. Without the amigas
internal soundchip I use a Roland U-110
sound module (which have 16 bits
samples and 16 channels polyfoni) and a
Midifex Alesis (soundmixer). To get
the sound throught my ears I use a JVC
amfibier connected to 2 X 240 Watts
selfbuilt loudspeakers.

VECTOR:

O.k that was that. First of all:
Welcome back to the scene. You have
been silent for well over a year now,
due to your duty in the army, but
finally they have let you out of your
cage. Do you enjoy the free life?

DR.BULLY:

Yes of course I do, but I'll say that I
liked the army life too. Coz I
advanced to be a Corporale, not only a
simple soldier (he,he). May be I'll be
back in the army as a rescueman next
year?

VECTOR:

Your first module called "Comeback?" is
finished. It's the first module you
have made since last summer. Do you
consider yourself in-shape after a year
vacation?

   Vektor Dr. Bully

DR.BULLY: Well, I composed one or two
modules around chrismas time, so
            "Comeback?" is the first
            module from me this year.
            I used "Comeback?" to get
            in-shape, when I started on
that tune I felt me as a
            beginner, you may hear
            that...

            VECTOR:

            Like normal people need
            food to survive, do you
            need Protracker?

 DR.BULLY: If I get a choise as: 10
Cheeseburgers or a new version of
Protracker? I'll take PT. (Coz I'll
never be able to eat 10 burgers! He,
he?...)

VECTOR:

Do you have any projects that you are
working on at the moments? Rumours
says that you are making the 3. part
of the song called Resonance. Is that
true, and if so what type of song will
that be? Will it be just like the
others?

DR.BULLY:

Yes, I'm already tracking at Resonance
III (it will be finished when you read
this), it will be like Resonance I
without drums... No, to be serious
I'll say that it's a typical Dr.Bully
style, I've always loved pan-samples.
If you have heard some tunes from me
before u will understand. But I've
quit all the piano-samples after
Resonance II, people have got enough of
that.

VECTOR:

Now over to something else. When you
for the first time heard that Commodore
were to release a new Amiga called
1200, did you believe they would change
the soundchips in the Amiga?

DR.BULLY:

No, but I hoped that they would change
it, like 16 bit, 8,12 or 16 channels.

VECTOR:

Did you get dissapointed when they
still had the old fashion 8 bit system?

DR.BULLY:

Yes, I visited Commodore and would give
them some soundchips to lunch, but they
had already eaten it. One afternoon in
1985 they forgot to turn off the
soundchipmachine so it produced some
billions in one night, therefore they
had to use the old chip in all Amigas
in the future.

VECTOR:

Would you pay £100 more for a Amiga
1200 just to get 16 bit sound quality?

DR.BULLY:

Yes, if it's compatible with the old
soundchip and have more than 4
channels.

VECTOR:

Now a change in the subject again.
When you started making music, back in
1989, did you think the musicians were
producing more modules at lower quality
than they are today?

DR.BULLY:

Yes I think, coz there were not so many
good musicians at the scene in 1989 as
today. Most of the musicians get
better after some years at the scene.
And the trackers has been better and
better. But of course many of the best
modules ever made on an amiga has been
given out around that time.

VECTOR:

If you got the chance, would you work
commercially?

DR.BULLY:

Well, if you are thinking about making
music to games etc. no, coz my style
will not sound good in any games.

VECTOR:

Well since we're running out of time
here, I'll ask you some more or less
non-serious questions. Name your
