Countach Interview - page 1
done by Mc Deal/D-TECT
Friday 05.10.1990. I (Mc Deal) went to
Joker of Countach (ex. Spirit) together
with Dirty Harry/D-TECT and a friend of
us. We wanted to make an interview with
Countach. As we entered his room we saw
6 people who were already there and we
started (after the obviously hellos)
immediately with the interview. Here we
go:

H-M: Hi freax! Let's start: Please tell
me how many members Countach has.
CNT: At the moment we have 22 members.
     unfortunately not everybody could
come today, so we have to make the
     interview with the present people.
H-M: OK. What's your name and function
     in Countach?
CNT: Melodic Drama (Sounder,GFX)
     Rick Dangerous (Swapper)
     Iron Lord (Coder)
     Norman Bates (Swapper,GFX)
     Joker (Modemtrader,Sysop)
     MOD (Game Tester)
H-M: As everybody knows you were known
very good in the scene as Spirit.
What's the reason that you had to
change your name from Spirit to
     Countach?
CNT: We founded a new group with some
members of AEON,TAR and some other
guys and nobody wanted to take the
     name of the other group.
H-M: Tell me which kind of AMIGAS you
     have?
CNT: We have four A500s one A1000 and
also one A2000. On of the A500s is
out of order at the moment. It's
the computer of MOD. I (Joker)
     have normally two computers, but
one is out of order, too. It's also
     an A500 !!!
H-M: What a pity! I've heard that you
had problems with your last phone-
bill. Please tell me the amount.
CNT: About 1000 Deutsche Mark!!!

H-M: Which kind of productions will you
     release in the future?
CNT: We'll release an intro/demo (ed.
They couldn't decide) at the Ami
     Expo'90 and a sado-maso-slideshow.
Perhaps there will be even a copy
     party within 1990.
H-M: Being in a group is sometimes hard
and takes a lot of time and money.
So, WHY ARE YOU in a group?
CNT: Just for fun - nothing else!
H-M: Imagine there's anybody who reads
     this interview in our famous
(ed. ???) HACK-MAG and wants to
contact you. Can you tell him your
     contact address?
CNT: Certainly. Our contact address is:
               PLK 162764 E
             7000 STUTTGART 50
               BIG GERMANY
H-M: What is the average age in
     Countach?
CNT: The average age is about 19. Our
youngest member is 16 years old
     and the oldest is 26.
H-M: How much time do you daily spend
     in front of your computers?
CNT: During the week we spend half an
hour in front of our saturn-blue-
     metallic-color megacool Amigas. On
the week-end we stand up in the
morning, turn on our computers and
when the night is over we decide
to go to our jobs or to school.
H-M: What do you think about groups
like Quartex, Skid Row and all the
     other business groups which only
want to earn much money? Do you
think it's good for the scene that
     such crews exist?
CNT: It is good that there are groups
which release so much stuff and
without cracks there won't be any
scene. I think if a group has to
     spend much money for originals,
hardware, and so on they have the

right to get some money back even
even if it's more than they spent.
Porsches are so expensive! And I
think if they make such nice
intros like Paradox it's even more
     better.
H-M: Tell me the longest distance you
ever drove to a copy-party and
     which party was it?
CNT: The longest distance was the 700
km to the Alcatraz Pentcost Mega-
party. It was a very well organized
party and we had a lot of fun.
H-M: What's our opinion about the HACK-
MAG? Do you think we have to
     change anything?
CNT: What mag?? Big Mäc?? Great!!(Joke)
It is a great magazine but you
     should improve the coding.
H-M: Oohhh! I don't think so because I
think we've the best coding in the
     whole disk-mag scene. There's no
     other mag who's functions like
     Load-While-Reading, printing or
even a 6 channel sound. But lets
     continue with the questions. Does
anybody of you have a girl-
     friend?
CNT: No! We love our beerbottles, cash.
     And Melodic Drama loves his
     domina! We don't need girl-friends
     because they are too expensive!!!
     (Disx are cheaper!!!)
H-M: No comment to this point of view!!
OK!You told me that you like crews
who release many cracks, but what
do you think about groups which
     buy demos/intros from others?
CNT: ...
H-M: Now I've to explain to all HACK-
MAG readers that they had a hot
     discussion with no result! Next
     question: With which programs do
     work?
CNT: - AZCom (Joker)
     - Deluxe Paint III (Norman Bates)

     - Turbo Backup (X-Copy is shit!!!)
       (Rick Dangerous)
     - Masterseka V1.53 (Iron Lord)
     - Startracker, Future ComposerV1.4
       (Melodic Drama)
H-M: So, we're nearly ready now. Tell
me your message to the Amiga freax
     all over the world.
CNT: (ed. After 30 minutes...)
     The freaks shouldn't change their
groups more than twice a week!!!
     And remember: War is shit!!!
H-M: One last question: What do you
think about the problems in Iraqi?
CNT: Send Arnold and Sylvester to Sadam
     and there's no problem anylonger..
H-M: OK! That's all!It was nice to meet
you!! Good luck for the future and
     your planned productions. See ya!

At this place I want to say some
general words about interviews. Some-
times we let the groups answer our
questions in English like in this case.
The groups are fully responsible for
the contents and the grammar of their
answers. So don't complain if you find
some syntax errors in the answers of
groups!!!‡
