            Interview with
      The Sun
  of DREAMDEALERS

MD: This time we have interviewed one
of the best musicians in France
called Sun! He is a member of the
    wellknown DREAMDEALERS and (as
said above) he is a really
    talented musician... At first I
greet you, Djam! Please give us a
    few details about yourself.

SD: Hoaw! Hi Andreas. Well a few
details about myself: I'm a boy,
    I'm not a girl (logic). I'm a
    brown haired guy (common). I'm
    Half-tibetan, Half-french. And
I'm 20, etc etc. Nothing more to
    say...

MD: Please give us a few detailed
    informations about your crew, the
    DREAMDEALERS. Date of founding,
    organisation, stunning releases
and all such things for glory!

SD: Back in 1988, DRD was born from 3
    guys (Croquik, Kougar, Sun). At
first there was nothing to do coz
we were not "good" enough, but
after Redlight joined us we began
to feel a little better. With the
upcomming of Moby and 2 Gfx (Tony,
Tik), we were at least in order to
    make something "cute". Stunning
    releases? Cute Releases! Our
last demos: Tales of a Dream,
    Innervision, and our so called
    Dentro: Drinktro, Beachtro...
But we will not stop here others
    Demos will show up soon...

MD: Please continue with your
scene-life and with your job as
`Sun`! We want to know how you
started (also as musician?) and on
which way you got in touch with
the other members of DRD! Was it
pure chance? Was it with the help
    of a computer-magazine? Questions
    over questions for you.

SD: I am not a "true musician", I'm
just an "Amiga musician", like a a
lot of people around. I met
    Kougar, Croquik, Redlight at my
    "school duties", this was the
beginning of our crew! Luck or
    destiny? Who knows? Who Cares?!?
    (Except you, hehe!)

MD: Were the DREAMDEALERS your first
team or are there other ex-groups
of yours still in the scene?

SD: Yes, DRD is my first group. Watch
    above! Hek Hek.

MD: When did you start composing music
and did you learn all hints to
    work with the Protracker by
yourself? I think that it is
quite hard to create useful music
so try to answer this question.
Perhaps you are also able to
    motivate other musicians with your
    tips and your story...

SD: Everything I learned from the Ptk
was by myself of course, with the
help of some ripped modules etc.
I had to rip some modules to
    understand some tricks, sorry...
But I'm sure everybody do the
    same, no?!?
Ptk effects are really powerful if
there was a mix between Ptk and
Sonic Arranger it should make a
Great impact. Time has come no?
It's been a long time since the
last releases of Ptk, I believe
that something more has to be
added. It's a Big Work anyway...

MD: Are you using also other hardware
    to compose music like Synthesizer
or things like that? Are you
    digitizing all samples by yourself
or are you using more or less
    `standard samples`?

SD: I don't own a synthesizer but as
soon I will be able to, I will get
one of these musics machines. I
sold my Digitizer to a friend who
owns a synthesizer so as soon as I
think about it I will make some
digits. Hehe. For now I use
    ripped samples from differents
modules! Not all from the same, I
rip samples! I do not steal them!
    Huu!

MD: How much time are you working on
one module? (Not the exact time
    because I know that`s very
    different but `all in all`
    please...)

SD: Wah wah wah, from one day to one
month. I work on 2 or 3 mod at
the same time and I erase the 2 I
don't like after a week, according
to my "feelings of the moment".

MD: We all know that there is also
    another great musician in DRD
called Moby. Perhaps a few dudes
think that he is composing better
music than you and that`s also the
    reason why there are often
    Moby-tunes in DREAMDEALERS-demos.
Do you think that he is more or
    less a little `concurrent` of
yours or are you a quite good
    friend of Moby?

SD: Not a few dudes! A lot of dudes!
But to excuse myself: he began
    before me, hauhau (scuze fred)!
I'm quite a good friends of every
DRD members, Moby is one of them!
Why Moby tunes in DRD demos???
His music pleasee a lot of guys
But don't cry my tune will show
    up... Believe it... (Hin hin)
(If ya like it, Of course!)

MD: Perhaps a few old scene-members
can rememeber that Moby was once
    upon a time an ALCATRAZ-member!
Do you know his reason why he left
    ATZ a few years ago?

SD: ATZ is a far group, Moby was the
only french member of that team.
(I think ), so being far away from
his team was maybe a little bit
    difficult for exchanging ideas,
etc. But anyway ATZ are our
friends so what, it's just an
    member swap (Hihihi)... Next
    please.

MD: I know that there are no divisions
of DRD in other countries. Please
    explain your reasons for this
fact. Is it caused of (perhaps)
    missing communications between
    WHQ/divisions or why?

SD: It's mainly because we won't like
to be too much guys! 15 members
are quite good enough for a crew
(we are 10). Being too much would
    mean a lack of communication
between the members, we don't want
    that.

MD: How many dudes are working under
    the DREAMDEALERS-label?

SD: 10 guys:
    Redlight, Pict, 7Th Eye, Croquik
    for the Coding.
Tik, Tony, Zebig for the Gfx.
Kougar, Moby, Sun (!) for the
    Music.

MD: What is your opinion about modem-
traders and sysops? (I know that
there are no boards of DRD around,
    so give us your opinion...)

SD: Modem is great when it doesn't
mean High Speed Piracy. For a
team who has members in other
    country that's great, it is
impossible to lose your data by
this way, I won't say the same for
the letters (You do understand why
    Andreas!)

MD: Now to your country... France!
    Tell us something about your
    hometown, about the weather and
such crap, please. And of course
about the damned good cooks and
about Paris - the town of art!

SD: Ok, Hometown: not bad, Weather:
bad, Cook: it's ok for me...
Paris? Not nice at all! Too many
    people in!

MD: To another fact. Back to history
and back to the roots of France
    and Germany... Perhaps you know
    that both countries were during
    lots of centuries the biggest
    enemies! Remember the first and
the second worldwar and the time
before - Germany and France were
fighting all the time against each
other! A few dudes said something
    about an ARCH-ENEMIE! Is this
also your opinion or are you
hoping (like me) that this time of
    `enemity` is over now?

SD: Where the hell did you find out
    those Questions? Haha! I don't
care about the past, Only the
Present & future time does count!

MD: Do you think that the scene is
only just for fun or it is more or
    less real business for you?

SD: For me it is just for fun! And
for fame too, fame is fun! But
fun before fame after... Do you
    follow me?!?

MD: Your opinion about cigarettes,
alcohol and drugs? Would it be
    correct to legalize drugs?

SD: All of that are SHITS! Except
    alcohol for our future Drink
    Charts! Hehehe!

MD: What are the future-plans of
    DREAMDEALERS? Winning all the
time the first price on a french
    copy-party (as usual) or perhaps
    things like a chart?

SD: OoWw we don't win that often! I
think that those in the 2nd price
    won't be happy after that
    interview, hahaha (joke!)... We
are doing a Charts called the
    DRINK-CHARTS it's meant to be 100%
    delirium, just look in the
Drinktro to know how to vote! And
to know the meaning of this name
(If you haven't figured it out
yet, you are surely an outter
    space alien!).
And we are Organizing a party at
    Montpellier (france) this summer
with DEVILS & EOC (details later).

MD: I heard something about a co-op
with ALLIANCE DESIGN and a charts
called Drink Charts. Was the coop
only arranged for the charts or
will there be a real cooperation
between both teams in the future?

SD: There is a cooperation for the
Drink Charts between A.D / DRD.
But A.D are about to show their
    last production after that they
will join us (Zebig, Pict, 7th
    eye). Corto Stopped activites
until God gave him a new job and
other A.D formed some new french
    division of a Stanger Group,
    that's all!

MD: List a few of your favourites in
things of music (REAL music...) We
want to know which music-band you
    prefer and things like that!

SD: Well, well... I do not listen to
music often, anyway. Those I like
    are: Vangelis, J.M.J, Kraft Werk
    (Haha). All those Synthetics tune
    and for the voices sections
    Sandra, Simply Red, Depeche Mode,
    nearly all music which doesn't
sound like RAP! (I'm not narrow
    minded as you see.)

MD: Haha... Now the final question
from the good old CoNtRoL... Yes,
you are a quite good musician but
are you also able to SING like
Elvis, hehehe? (Are you a REAL
    musician or not, harhar?)

SD: For the final, YES! (Believe it
    or not!), I won't be a real
musician until I own a Synth.

MD: Yes, finally you have reached the
end of this hard questions! You
are now able to greet your best
friends and there is also some
space for a few messages !!! Use
    your chance pal, hehe...

SD: YOHAW! Shiny rays fly out to the
    DREAMDEALERS (hey of course)...
Sorry others I've got too much
    Friends sniff, ouuiiin, ARgg...

    Msg to:
    - Bitarts/Sanity: an answer???
At least you could do it once.

      friend... (For Tony/DRD)
    - Tan/Eoc: Hot sister when?
    - Lord helmet/Pmc: You have the
      award for the shortest letter!

    - Croquik, Kougar/DRD: Heu heu

Innervision demo, so if you're not
    French (I'm racist) write me!
    (Musician especially!!! Thx ya)

MD: Well, with this part I wanna end
the interview. Thanks to Sun from
    the whole McDisk Team for
    answering this stuff... Bye, and
hope to see you somewhere in time.
