ASSEMBLY'93 REPORT ASSEMBLY '93-THE SECOND PHASE REPORT -------------------------------------- Well...I arrived to party place at 8.30 and doors opened at 10.00. So, first hours went while looking guys who've showed up and waiting for doors to open. Some foreigners have sleeped at some organisers houses and some of them were sleeping at their cars when I arrived. So, clock came 10.00 and...yo!! Doors opened!!! Something in time but...Door didn't wanted to open and organisers got it open in ten minutes!! Nothing big... When we walked in we just checked the places, looked for Equinox room, checked the hall and just walked around. At last we gave up and went to nearest pizza place to have something to eat. After one hour we came back to party-place and some people were still on the line waiting to go in. We just searched for our room... Atlast we found our room and after a while organisers came and said that we have to pay 100 FMK coz if something will be crashed they have something and the guy won't split from the place. After a while I paid for that and after the party I SHOULD get my moneys back. Coz we were so few guys from Equinox at that time they said that some other guys will probably come to room too. So, Desire came to same room. Atlast we had even Amigas at the room!! But no monitors!! So just wait for some more Desire guys to show up and bring their monitors. Also some Equinox guys have not arrived at that time and I, Breeze and Lite were waiting for them. Clock was about 3 when Supra arrived. And we started to wait for Rioter and other swedish guys. But what??? They didn't arrived!! Why??? Well, we were PISSED OFF for that!! They could say that to us and we wouldn't be waiting for them. Well, Equinox team at the party was: Lite, who came from France and was most pissed off, Breeze our musician, Supra, juoppo who makes some graphics and me(Jackpot). Lite had an intro to be released but due Rioter's behaviour he didn't released it!! So, our party went while drinking some booze and chatting with cool guys. At friday nothing special happened. Only our room was full of drunk people with their Amigas. Guys in our room: Desire: Chipper, Mick, NSA, Venture and probably one who I don't remember. Alcatraz: Dwel, TEK: Deep Madness and Dexter, Copperhead and some guys who were just sleeping there!! Desire had an intro for intro competition but it never finished. Also their Chip-Chop failed and it meaned no releases from our room! Police visited at the party about 5 times and ambulance once or twice. Many Excotic Men guys went to jail for 24 hours and they probably have to pay some money for their damages. One guy was damaging a motorcycle when cops took him to rest a while.. But nothing serious happened while the whole party so it wasn't anything serious. Assembly'93 got also to our national news!! MTV3 was taking a picture from some guys, interviewed one organiser and pictured the big hall. Also own Party-channel was there and due to party was arranged in school there was a TV in almost every room and all could see what's on. But TV had nothing to see!! Only one advertisement about a modem and Assembly'93 logo was on it. So, if you arrange that there should be some program on it, like Scheldules, prizes, deadlines etc. important stuff. Hall was almost full of PC-lamers. There was 1328 people at the party plus organisers, vip's and those who faked their passes. Yes, there was some fakes going on from passes and that was the reason why organisers checked the passes VERY carefull at some time. At saturday competitions began around 7.00 pm. At first some PC and C-64 compos and then started to happen. First was Amiga intro. Some REAL cool intros were released by Stellar and Virtual Dreams and some of those regular intros. Soon after that gfx competition started and holy gosh!! Stunning pictures by Hotshots, Jugi and Prayer!!! Hope all of you will see them soon!! Maybe the best compo at the party on Amiga. Then at the 24.00.pm. Amiga demo competition was finally starting. First some shit demos and then: Pygmy projects made a stunning demo called Extension!! Absolutely best demo. Also VD/FLT had a great demo but Pygmy was really something!! Melon released a bad joke called Romantic demo...Amiga music competition delayed several hours and about 6.30.am it finally started. I wasn't listening the music so no comment for that. Amiga realtime competition got cancelled due to lack of participators. But again Amiga voting didn't work at all! After you got voting forms they didn't informed where to return them. So, almost everyone didn't voted. Or what do you say if there's 1500 people at the party and winner demo got only 196 votes??? So, in next years Assembly please organise voting better!! Also football competion was arranged and I should have played with Desire but I losted them before beginning and I never reached them. So, Due I wasn't playing Desire lost final to Banal projects. 3rd was Stellar. Diskthrowing was also there but unfotunately I don't remember the results. Some party-charts in here. If you want to see the results check my other article which includes only the results. Darra / Damones Some points about the results and voting: Analog's Hysteria Demo didn't worked at the competition and after that when it started to spread it didn't worked at all!! So, how it can be that high in the results?? Also Virtual Dreams's intro didn't worked at all in the competition due to that they didn't had 24k command on their disk. Also voting was very bad organised, so many guys, including me, didn't voted. So, batter up in that party organisers!!! But anyway, Assembly was cool and hopefully we'll be there next year again.
