INTERVIEW WITH GODHEAD / REFLEX

·Interview with Godhead / Reflex

Done by Godheads / Reflex's brother.... (Suspicious ain't it)

As you know, Upstream is invaded by a
lot of articles by a mysterious Godhead
of Reflex. Now who is this guy? He's
a Swede, and edits, but what else? We
put his brother on the case, and here's
what he came up with...

(BRO = Brother)
(RLX = Godhead)

BRO: Ok, now first, what is your name?

RLX: It's Godhead of Reflex... You
know that...

BRO: So, what do you do there,
Godhead?

RLX: Graphics... And some editing for
former MagBox, now Upstream.

BRO: You've been a swapper too haven't
you?

RLX: Yeah, that's right, but I'm
through with that shit now.

BRO: And why is that?

RLX: Lack of motivation.

BRO: Ok... So, for how long have you
been on the scene?

RLX: Well, more or less on the scene

for 3 years...
At least that's for how long I've been
in Reflex.

BRO: Reflex... That's a shitty name,
don't you think?

RLX: Naah... There are a group named
Reflectors, but there haven't been much
heard from them lately, so I don't
think there'll be any confusions.

BRO: Hear from them you said... Well,
it was a while since heard from Reflex
too right?

RLX: Well, actually the last release
was half a year ago, at the Party II in
Denmark, with our Wormtro. We were
going to release our new trackmo XS
(Exess) on the TCC in Gothenburg, but

of course it fucked up in the last
minutes...
Now I don't know when it'll be out.

BRO: Yeah, but XS isn't the only demo
you guys are working on?

RLX: No, we are also doing Zillion
Dreams, another Trackmo.

BRO: Two demos at the same time...
How come?

RLX: Well, different parts of
Reflex... Or at least somehow... Ah
fuck, I dunno.
Zillion Dreams is mainly Zod and
Valkyrians production, with small stuff
from us others... XS is... Well,
everybodies.

BRO: I see...
How many are you in Reflex nowadays?

RLX: Hmm... Well, the complete
memberlist is:

Zod Coder
Incido Coder
Godhead Graphist/editor
Electron Graphist/swapper
Valkyrian Graphist/coder
Ache Musician
NRG Musician
Mozart Musician/swapper
Crypth Trader
XoN SysOp - Cyberdelica WHQ
Flabbergast SysOp - Minor MishMash SHQ
Sarah Mascot/Moral Support

Uhh... I think that's all... We could
use another Coder by the way.

BRO: Yeah, I bet...
Say, this Mascot of yours, Sarah...
She's pretty special right?

RLX: Yeah, she's my girlfriend! :-)

BRO: Hee... Well, you also have a
Supporter-club for Reflex right?

RLX: Yep!

BRO: Tell us about it please!

RLX: Ok, it's PARTY CREW!
Four member only so far...
They're all my classmates, and wanted
join Reflex, but as the others wouldn't
like that at all, I suggested they
could form a group of their own! It
was Party Crew, Lame & Proud!

BRO: Hehe, yeah they indeed are...

RLX: I think the most famous one is
Skibum of TPC...
He was the "Bananaman" at TCC '93!

BRO: The Bananaman?

RLX: Yeah, he fell asleep while
playing a flight-game, and we replaced
the joystick with two bananas so the
kinda formed a steering wheel, and put
a sign saying "The Bananagame" on the
screen... Then he was filmed by
several guys with vidcams! :-D

BRO: You never told me about that!
Ahem... Well, what's your opinion of
the Elite scene?

RLX: Junk. Next question?

BRO: Eh... You mean it's no cool?

RLX: No, I mean that since I started
working on the game I'm not too happy
about piracy.

BRO: The game?

RLX: Yes, I'm working on a game with
Delery and Marillion of Silents. We'll
go as Digital Illusions when done or
something like that... Dunno, Delery
handles that part.

BRO: I bet it'll be great...
Now, why didn't you compete with your
picture in the compo on TCC '93?
Judging from other graphists you would
at least have had a somewhat fair
chance, but your pic was never seen on
the screen? Why is that?

RLX: Timing... I blew it, I didn't
finish it in time. When I got there, I
never was going to compete, since I had
only done the outlines of it.

BRO: So what made you change your
mind?

RLX: Well, lotsa things.
First, my own group were pushing for me
finishing it, and also other
graphicians were pushing...
Devilstar of TSL was one. Anyway, I
thought what the hell, and started,
hoping to make it before the deadline.

BRO: I see... But you DID NOT make it
in time!

RLX: I KNOW! I was one hour late...
Only have myself to blaim that didn't

start earlier. ;-(

BRO: Must be hard to have worked for
18 hours in a row, and still miss it by
one...

RLX: You bet it was! At least we
would release it within the XS demo,
but... It fucked up too!

BRO: So Reflex didn't contribute with
anything then?

RLX: Yes, in fact we did.
The other graphician, Electron, did. A
really good pic with an Axe in a stone,
with a sunset as background. - Of
course not even NEAR the quality of
MINE! ;-) *Grin* No, just kidding...

BRO: What's your view on the future

Amiga scene? Will it survive..?

RLX: Well, at least let's hope so. I
hope we'll kick some Atari ass with the
'1200! Fuck Falcon!

BRO: ...And still you've owned an
Atari yourself right?

RLX: Oh shut up will you! I'm trying
to forget that! It was a very painful
period of my life! The so called Atari
"scene" causes true agony to any
Amiga-dude...

BRO: But by then you weren't an Amiga
dude!

RLX: Nope, but I KNEW how it SHOULD
be, since I was a member of Reflex. At
least I could survive that time by

spending lotsa time at the other
crewmembers, using their Amigas.

BRO: Didn't they get pissed?

RLX: Yes.

BRO: Aha... And they were the main
ones pushing for the purchase of your
own Amiga?

RLX: Well, yes and no... Anyway, I
have Incido to thank for the bargain
that was my A500...

BRO: Stolen?

RLX: Nooo... Cheap :-)

BRO: Ok... well, you're a true
fan of Depeche Mode, right?

RLX: Of course! And all that kind of
music! I recently attended the
Devotion Tour when it was in Sweden.
Right now I'm eagerly waiting for Front
242 to show up!

BRO: What's your opinion of Hip Hop
then?

RLX:

BRO: Ok, you're no fan of Hip Hop.
Final question: What's your favourite
beer?

RLX: Hmm... Until a couple of weeks
ago, it would have been Carlsberg...
Now I'm not sure.

BRO: Hey bro... It's gettin late...
Any last words?

RLX: Yeah, I should put some PR for
the Group Selection too... Don't
include this!

BRO: Ohhh, no I won't! Go ahead,
tell!

RLX: I think you forgot about the
Reflex Group Selection bro...

BRO: Ah, that's right, almost forgot!
Tell me about it Godhead.

RLX: It's the biggest packseries ever
made on the Amiga, containing
everything ever released by everyone
except trackmos... < Cut > ...And i'd
advise you too get at least some parts
ASAP!

BRO: *Yawn* VERY good bro... Hope you

don't mind me cutting a little do you?

RLX: Ah c'mon...

BRO: Godheads little brother reporting
for UPSTREAM, G'nite!
