³¼INTERVIEW WITH¼³ ³¼KYD/BALLE PROD.¼³ ³ What does Kyd/Balle prod. think about Odessey, Any new videoes etc. If you want to know the answers of these questions then read this little inter- view made by Mud of Majic 12. Since you all know Kyd/Balle I skipped the introduction questions....... ² ?: What are Kyd/Balle Productions ex- actly, and how many members/em- ployees are involved ? ¹ !: Kyd/Balle Prod. consist of Jesper Kyd and Mikael Balle. It's a label under Silents DK, and it was formed because of economic reasons. It was also formed because Mikael and I lived in the same town and therefore we made a lot of things together. At the time we started calling us Kyd/Balle Prod. we were the only active members in Silents DK. We kind of made our own division !!! But things look a bit different now. ² ?: Almost everytime Silents release any thing big like "Hardwired", "Global Trash", you see the label Kyd/Balle prod. Do you control things in TSL. Are you the leaders ? ¹ !: We are only about 3 or 4 active mem- bers in Copenhagen, and Mikael and I have released most lately, and there fore you might say that the most ac- tive members run things in Silents DK. But we don't control people, we just make our own productions with out anybody controling us ,but we take good advice from our friends. ² ?: You have released the CAT Computer Club demo some time ago. Have you got anything to do with this firm, or did they just ask you to do a de- mo for them. A former member of BRS wrote in Zine that he had checked out the firm and he had found out that they sold demoes without per- missions. Is this something that an noys you in any way. What do you think about PD Companies in general? ¹ !: We have got nothing to do with this firm, we just made a couple of pro- ductions for them. We have not read that article in Zine, but if it's true it certainly annoys us. PD firms are also selling Sound of Si- lents, Global Trash and Hardwired, without paying us anything!!! But the good side about it is that they spread our productions to target groups our swappers don't reach. ² ?: Your fabulous Hardwired demo has been a great success( still is). E- ven though you "only" ended up as second in the demo competition. Af- ter the party your demo jumped right to the 1st place in almost every chart, and a lot of guys present at the party have said that this was the best demo, and some say that it's the best ever on Amiga. Howcome you didn't win then. What's the rea- son for this ? ¹ !: We don't know !!!!!!!!! ² ?: Are you disappointed about the re- sult of the competition ? What do you think about Odessey ? ¹ !: Ofcouse we were a bit disapointed after the competition, but after looking at the charts we all cheered up. The first time I saw the "slideshow" Odessey I was impressed. But after seeing it twice it becomes boring. It's like a new kind of Budbrain demo!! ² ?: Hardwired was filled with new ideas, which was never seen before. Who co- mes up with these ideas ? ¹ !: Well, the coders came up with the routines. Some of them were inspi- red by the software of the Silicon Graphics Personal IRIS (computer). ² ?: Your Global Trash II video was a big success too. Rumours say that it will be shown on MTV. Is this true. Have you had contact with MTV ? How are the chances ? ¹ !: Yes we are in contact with MTV and GBII has been showed 3 or 4 times now. ² ?: Can we expect to see a new video from you, and will we see a new mega party again ? ¹ !: Well, actually we just made a new demo for a danish record company cal led Soulpower. It will be spread at the Hurricane Party in Dk. Mind you, we have only made the vi- deo, we have nothing to do with the music. ² ?: You have lost a lot of members to Anarchy. Is this a problem for you ? Is this why you made Hardwired to gether with Crionics, or had the co- operation plans been made before ? ¹ !: A cooperation demo was bound to be released, because we had worked to gether with Crionics for quite some time. We lost members to Anarchy af- ter we had planned to make a demo together with Crionics, so it did'nt really matter that much. "A Journey Into The 25th Century" was canceled though, but some of the graphics was used in HARDWIRED. ² ?: Well, I haven't got anything else to write, so now you can have the final word : ¹ !: We read somewhere that Static was a member of Melon Design. ³ STAITC HAS NEVER BEEN A MEMBER OF MELON DESIGN!!! ¹ He is a member of Silents DK !!!! ³Answers by : Kyd/Balle Productions/TSL Questions by : Mud of Majic 12¹
