\!x@ Interview with MR. KING (BEYOND) ================================== \!e@ ST = SceneTalk's questions MK = Mr. King's answers \!y@ST: Please, introduce yourself to our readers, give us some info about yourself and your cool work on the Amiga scene. \!0@MK: My real name is Joerg and my han- dle is Mr.King.I'm now a member of Beyond. I am 19 year old and my birthday is in the end of August. I drive a very old VW Passat, which mainly doesn't work !! My task in Beyond is to swap and spread the own Productions (???). I will soon release a pack, called Low Spirit. Sometimes when I have time enough and when I'm in the right mood I code a little bit. \!y@ST: Tell some more as the well-known information about your crew. What do you think about the organisa- tion of your group ? Could it be better or is it allright ? \!0@MK: We are now 16 members in Beyond. We have an own board(so call, dudes). All in all I think that Beyond is good organised group. Better than the ones I have been in before! In the future Beyond will release a nice demo and a sounddisk. \!y@ST: What do you plan for the future ? Tell some information about your work in the near future and soon outcoming productions. \!0@MK: Maybe I will open an own board, but that isnt sure yet ! \!y@ST: Ok, tell us something about your Amiga history ,e.g. in what groups have you been before and which jobs have you done before ? How long have you been in computer scene? \!0@MK: I got my C 64 in the year 1982 . I was just playing some stupid games till I joined Kodiak in 1987.After a member of Kodiak was busted by the cops KODIAK broke apart. Then some of our town formed VICTORY. After some month I stopped all C64 activities and went over to AMIGA ( I bought my Amiga in 1988 ) . I builtup the Amiga section of VIC- TORY. In 1992 Victory stopped all activities and I joined VIOLENCE. But because Violence was not very good organised I joined BEYOND after three weeks. Now I am in BEYOND for about 6 weeks. \!y@ST: What computers have you owned be- fore the Amiga? What is your opin- ion about the good old C-64 scene when you compare it with our be- loved Amiga scene ? Point out the advantages and disadvantages. In which directions do you think will the Amiga scene (in Germany) deve- lope? Many elite crews formed PC- sections. What do you think about it ? Is this the right way to survive? \!0@MK: The good old C64 scene is not bad. In the C 64 scene you can get easily to the top,coz almost every group has 2 or more Mags. That is stupid. They should bring out a mag with more interesting arti- cles, like on the Amiga. Most of the mags have not more than 10 chapters. Some even less. I Think the Amiga scene is much better, coz not every lame newcommer can get into the REAL scene, but he first has to prove first that he is worth to be in the amiga scene. I think the Amiga scene will stay as it is nowadays. \!y@ST: What extra hardware do you own? \!0@MK: I have now 2 external drives (a 5 1G4 and a 3 1G2), one megabyte, an Action Replay - Module, printer , Synchro Express II, a joystick, a mousepad. \!y@ST: Have you any plans for buying more hardware (better equipment) in the future? \!0@MK: Yeahh, I wanna buy a fast Modem (so that I can open my own board , with my pal TFD). For that board I need a Harddrive, another AMIGA and that is all. \!y@ST: What's your opinon about PD-compa- nies? Some of them sold demos for much money and do not ask the pro- ducers for a permission ? Have you made some experiences with PD-com- panies? Tell, a short story about your worst experience with them. \!0@MK: I think PD companies are allright. I think it is not bad if they sell demos for a low price , because some people can only get demos from such PD-companies.But if they make really money with them , I think they should get a permission from the producers. I never had a bad experience with them, coz I never ordered something from them. \!y@ST: What is your opinion about the mail-swapping scene on Amiga, are you planning to become a modem- trader? What do you think generally about modems and the fast changing scene nowadays? \!0@MK: Mailswapping is very good, also if you cannot get such a new stuff as with a modem, but the friendship is much better. I like letters very much. I don't think, that I will be a modem trader, but I think I will be a sysop, when I got my equip- ment. \!y@ST: What is your opinion about the mail-swapping scene here in Ger- many? Give some information about advantages, disadvantages, what you like or hate, post and the behavi- our of your contacts .... What is more important for you: friendship or business? \!0@MK: I think friendship is most impor- tant. What I hate in Germany are thease groups who set the release date of their productions about 1 month ahead and spread this new stuff to their contacts. \!y@ST: What is your statement about girls in the scene ? Add your personal experience if you have it. But be careful, because we have one girl in the crew ! \!0@MK: I dont have any experience with girls in the scene, but I think that they can be as good as boys, even better. And when you see a crack or a demo, you cant see who did it. And so girls and boys are equal.. \!y@ST: What's your statement about crack- ing? Have you got some experiences with it? Which crackercrew is at your opinion the most famous one ? \!0@MK: I think CRACK INC. is going to the top.I dont have any experience in it, coz I am legal. Cracking is allright. \!y@ST: Did ya have any troubles with the police?Remember the copyright laws and add your own statement for it. Do you think that the copyright laws have any negative effects in evolution of the scene? \!0@MK: I was never cop busted, coz(I said it before) I am legal. No, those copyright laws have no negative effection on the scene. Most guys dont care if they got caught. They still go on. \!y@ST: Where do you come from and live. Descibe your impressions about your home area. What do you every day in your normal life ? Are you surrounded all the time with some cool friends,Amigafreakx or neadly girls? \!0@MK: I come from Elten, this I a small town near the Dutch border. Elten has about 4000 citizens. So it it really shitty here, to get new stuff from friends around. I just finished my practice as a garden- er. My normal day looks like this: I get up in the morning, have breakfast , go to work, at 12 o'clock I have a break, so I go to my POST BOX to fetch my post. After that I go home and eat something . Then I go to work again , till 16.30. Then I drive to the post office in Tolkamer, a little town in Holland , to fetch the post of my dutch contacts. When I am at home again, I copy all the new stuff for my contacts. That is my whole day. Exciting, isn't it ??? \!y@ST: What do you think about Amiga par- ties? What kind of parties you pre- fer in your real life ? What was the best party you visited ? Is there the possibility that your group will arrange a party in the future? \!0@MK: I was only on 2 pardies. One was the Bocholter Copy Fete and the other was in Holland, the Silicon pardey in Uetrecht. So I can not give an objective answer, coz both pardeys were lame (There were only C64 dudes). In my real life I like to meet some friends and then drink the whole night long. Disco isnt also bad, too.I dont know if my group arranges a pardey. \!y@ST: Did you made often voyages in your life? Describe just the visited places and your impression about them.Do you like travelling, meet- ing new pals, seeing new places etc? \!0@MK: No I dont make often voyages. I was once in America to visit an uncle. America is cool. If I have a new car, I wannna go more often to pardeys. Coz I really like meeting new pals and so. So watch out for me.... \!y@ST: What kind of music do you prefer, listening often to radio or watch- ing videos at MTV? \!0@MK: I like musik really much. Most of the time I play my own CDs, coz I don't receive MTV in my own room. \!y@ST: Do you have a girlfriend at the moment ? If so, what is her name ? What kind of girls you prefer? \!0@MK: No, at the moment I am free. So girls come on.. She should be nice and rich, so that I can open my own board (he,he,he). \!y@ST: Describe your favorite and prefer- ed following things: \!y@DRINK:\!0@ Diebels Alt Beer, Cola Whisky \!y@FOOD:\!0@ PATAT met Majo en Frikandel Special \!y@TOOL:\!0@ X-Copy, Cygnus Ed,Beckertext II, Assemblers \!y@REAL MUSIC:\!0@ Disco music, all new chart music \!y@MOVIES:\!0@ Terminator II, Teen Agent, all kind of action movies \!y@COUNTRY:\!0@ Germany, Holland \!y@DEMO(S):\!0@ Odyssey/Alcatraz \!y@GROUP(S):\!0@ Paradise, Silents, Anarchy, PMC \!y@SWAPPER(S) (OR TRADER(S)):\!0@ Brutus/Paradise, Warden/Arise, Howie/Laserdance \!y@MUSICIAN(S):\!0@ Nuke/Anarchy, Jesper Kid/Silents, Firefox/Phenomena \!y@GRAPHICIAN(S):\!0@ Uno/Scoopex, D-Sign/Interphase, Fairfox/PMC \!y@CODER(S):\!0@ The Spy/Silents, Performer/Melon Dezign, Tedric/Paradise \!y@CRACKER(S):\!0@ (I don't now, I am in the legal scene) \!y@DISKMAG(S):\!0@ RAW, ICE, MC Disk \!y@ST: Ohh yeahh, isn't this treatment some time finished? Maybe soon, but first you have to tell me which question I did not ask you and which one I should? Hmm, have you something special to say like some last words, greetx or messies to some of your best friends ,add- ress ...? \!0@MK: I want to greet some cool guys like : Skindiver, Sodom, Toxic and all my contacts ! \!y@ST: Well, thank you very much for this great interview and your bravely patience! Have much luck in your future! C U L8er , my friend ! - LIFE -
