Narcosis Profile - R-9 Name: Neil Handle: R-9 Group: Narcosis Age: 20 What do you do in your group?: I'm a gfx artist and the editor of Deadlock. Name your fave... Util : Protext v6.10, then DPaintIV (AGA version is SHIT!), then DOpus. Oh, not forgetting Motive's article tester! Demo : Hmm, there are so many it's hard to choose. I prefer one with nice ideas to cool coding - dot tunnels are good but hardly original. Diskmag : Apart from Deadlock, Visual Intensity, then Grapevine (due to non- total scene commitment).{ What do you enjoy most about the scene?: Writing to people all over the world. What do you enjoy least about the scene?: Voters who jump on the bandwagon. What is your hardware setup?: Amiga 1200 (maybe with 2mb Fast Ram soon), 120mb internal hard drive, second disk drive, colour TV, Star LC-200 colour dot matrix printer, which I shall be selling very soon in favour of a bubblejet of some sort. How much do you spend on your computer a year (hard/software)?: Hmm. Possibly about £100-£150, maybe even £200. What do you think about the diskmag scene?: It's good, but there are too many mags with nice code but wank articles. Are the charts a waste of time?: Yes. Completely and utterly. They're a fashion item. Non-scene stuff now. What do you do for a living (work/student/etc.)?: I'm a student at Manchester Metropolitan Uni, studying a Degree in Software Engineering, 2nd year. { What do you do in your spare time apart from the Amiga?: I've recently got back into reading a lot of fiction, especially Clive Barker stuff, plus the Star Trek books (have a read of the reviews of the ones I've read up to now). I also listen to an absurd amount of music, I really couldn't do without it. That's the thing I do most, probably. I've recently taken up parachuting. :) What sort of music are you into?: Indie - you know... The Smiths/Morrissey, Mega City Four, Boo Radleys, Suede, Carter, Auteurs, Belly, Senseless Things, etc., etc. I also like stuff like Queen, especially the older tracks. A bit of Erasure now and again. Oh, and Jarre, too. I like collecting bootlegs. Can you name your MOST fave... Song/Album : All time fave album... probably Rank by The Smiths. My current fave song is the Peel Sessions version of Reel Around the Fountain by The Smiths. Music Group : The Smiths/Morrissey. Then Suede or Mega City Four. Food : A huge Chinese meal, chicken fried rice with veggies. Drink (alcoholic) : Tennant's Extra, Fosters Export, Budweiser, vodka. Drink (non-alcoholic) : Tea, fresh orange. Film : Star Trek VI, Star Trek IV, Star Trek II... yes, I'm a trekkie! Aliens is good, too.{ TV series : Star Trek, of course! Fave comedy series at the moment is The Day Today - criminally funny. Actor : Richard Prior and Gene Wilder are SUPERB together. Actress : Sigourney Weaver - kicks bottom in a big way. Also, Linda Hamilton (Terminator 2) - phwoooaarr!! Book : Imajica by Clive Barker. Item of clothing : My ripped jeans. They mean so much to me, I just can't throw them away. There're two big holes in the left knee, a hole under each butt cheek, a hole in the right ankle, and the zip is fucked. Second would be my faithful DM boots. Joint third is my autographed Senseless Things t-shirt, and my pretty damn rare Mega City Four 'Shivering Sand' t-shirt. Shop : The big HMV in Manchester. I live there. Can you name your LEAST fave... Song/Album : Least fave song, ooh, there're so many! Anything by Ce Ce Peniston or similar fat black women. Music Group : It has to be Take That. Four superflous members and clichéd lyrics. Sad, sad, sad. Food : Cheese. Fucking hate it. And fast food (v. unhealthy).{ Drink (alcoholic) : Least fave alcoholic drink? Come on! Turps, probably. Drink (non-alcoholic) : Coffee. Film : Basic Instinct. I've never seen it but the amount of hype it got means it must be a bag of shite. TV series : Love Hurts. Have you ever seen that woman smile? Actor : Mick Jagger. He did one film and he can't act. Actress : Sharon Stone. Fucking talentless bimbo. Book : The Bible. It's basically a 2000 year old Daily Sport. Item of clothing : Nike Air and LA Raiders coats - Baa! Shop : Any sports shop. If you had one day to live what would you do?: Spend all my money, get completely pissed and end my life with a spliff in my mouth. If you had £2,000,000 to spend, what would you buy?: Well, let's just say HMV's profits would hit the roof. What was the most embarrassing moment in your life?: Well you know that hand- jive thing from the 70's? I was forced to get up and perform that in front of about 30 or more people. Suicide seemed an acceptable option, let me tell you. Secondly, it would be karaoke. I also recently flooded the kitchen. { Who would you MOST like to be stuck in a lift with?: Well, you know how the Daily Mirror have fashion sections and they always photograph a model in various clothes? Well, there was this one girl from abouut a year ago who was modelling Doc Martens and typical student hippy gear and she was (and is) probably the most gorgeous-looking person on the planet - so it would be her. Who would you LEAST like to be stuck in a lift with?: Probably Bernard Manning. Can you imagine the smell? And finally, who would you most like to kill?: Jerry Adams. What a cunt he is. The God of Spouting Gobshite. Oh, and the current Home Secretary - why does he crack down on hunt sabs and do fuck-all about murder and rape? The word 'backhanders' springs to mind...}
