Brian postmas soundmon V2.

Hi everyone !

I converted this piece of music as a demonstration of the use of complex
waveforms in recreating real instruments on the Amiga. This is the first time
its ever been done properly, on ANY home computer ! (I think).

You may think this has been done before in other synthesised music tracks that
have appeared on Newsflash. These are synthesised, but only use very basic
waveforms such as sine,square & sawtooth waves. These all sound good, but not
REAL (As they only consist of the fundemental harmonic,)

A real instrument sound such as a clarinet or bell is built up from various
harmonics and by using a utility program such as `Synthia` these can be
re-created. A bell waveform for example contains three main harmonics... The
fundemental (eg. C),a third and a seventh harmonic. These are mixed and a bell
sounding waveform is created ! Once I had made the waveforms using synthia they
were loaded into the waveform table of Brian Postmas soundmon V2.0 and other
effects added, such as Vibrato,Tremelo and ADSR`s (The change in amplitude of a
sound over a given time). I think you`ll agree that the results are also pretty
impressive ! (As is the length of the tune - 4.8 K ! after crunching, 9 K
before.)

Synthesised instruments used in Neverending story ....

1. A hand bell
2. Clarinet  (very complex waveform !)
3. Chruch organ with vibrato (creating a voice type sound).
4. White noise for the drum (Better than Suntronics white noise !)
5. A simple sine wave.
6. A standard `Hubbard` type arpeggio sound.
7. A pulse width modulated square wave for the Bassline.

Anyone else done the same thing, or the same but better ? Then let me know !
