Assembly '94 - Report

THE DOOMED PARTY
480780

The third phase of the Assembly was held in Finnish capital, Helsinki,
in the first weekend of August. New limits were set. PC's unveiled as
an expensive game console.

By Mount

The icehockey hall, Jaahalli, reminded
of everything else than winter when
Assembly '94 was held at outside
temperatures near 30 degress. The
place seemed perfect to hold a party
with a hall surrounded by seats and
plenty of space and toilets

·PARTY ON - AFTER THE PARTY

It has almost become pure tradition that the Upstream editors manages to
keep up the fun and excitement after the actual party has ended. The
Gathering '94 was no exception.

By Wolfman

Having difficulties getting ferry
tickets home in time, yours truly and
the usual bunch "walking in my
footsteps" were forced to spend 2 days
extra after the party had ended.
This was surely an experience to
remember.

Against all odds the promising "Somewhere in Holland II" party was cancelled
6 weeks before it was going to take place. Upstream explains why and what
was supposed to have taken place.

By Mount

Though living far away from the land of
tulips you couldn't help getting
interested in the Somewhere in Holland
party to be held in the beginning of
July 1994. The invitation demo - or

Julius undercover

·JULIUS WENT UNDERCOVER

Starmaster of Prologik was the happy winner in the music-competition
at The South-Sealand Demoparty '94, but who IS he actually?

By Wolfman

As people should be able to guess from
the headline, Starmaster is actually
none other than Julius / Polka
Brothers, one of the best musicians in
Denmark.

An experiment
It has often been claimed that it's
easier to win a competition when one

·CRYPTOBURNERS -

·TO BE DISQUALIFIED?

Should Cryptoburners demo at The Gathering '94 have been disqualified for
not following the rules of the competition?

By Wolfman

"Brainstate In A Box" was according to
many people, one of the most
revolutionary demos released for a long
time. The demo won the secondprize at
The Gathering '94 and featured one of
the most advanced landscape routines
seen in a long time on the Amiga.
