Chip Chop 15
Text Inside this Production

welcome to chipchop number 15. Ramon B5 at the keyboard! Now do not go look for number 5 to 14, since you will not find them. Actually originally there are only 4 releases of chipchop, but we named this one number 15 since it has taken 15 years after the last one to release this new chipchop. First I want to thank Tim and Alien for taking the time and effort to help out getting this realized and their patience with me. Next I want to thank all the great musicians contributing to this new installment of chipchop, without all of you this would not have been possible of course. And for all the party people at revision, have a lot of fun guys and girls. I hope that I can be present in person myself next year. Make sure you put your vote keys to good use and give some love to Space madness in wild compo plus omega that you hopefully can enjoy in the 4k compo. It has been a while since we did a chipchop but if this gets a good reception we might considere doing a number 16 faster then we are used too. Now I should stop bothering you with these silly words, since I am sure you here to enjoy the retro sound of Amiga chiptunes. Hello readers, tim typing right now. hope you all enjoy this little desire production. Grenzwellen by Wertstahl of genesis project... testing 1 2 3.. pock pock... is this thing on? okay! wertstahl of genesis-project on the keyz. it was in 1992, when i originally wrote the track grenzwellen. a hommage to a german radio-broadcast, that focused on refreshingly unusual electronic music. i believe the 90s were my most experimental time, when it comes to composition, and the title, which translates to 'border waves' just seemed to fit perfectly. sometimes i wonder, why the majority of computer-aided music composition mostly is focused on traditional and contemporary methods. i have no idea, why from the very first moment of using protracker, i always wanted to avoid rules as far as possible. maybe because i was a loner, most of the time, only tinkering around in my very own world. ofcourse i was surprised, that, when i played my stuff to others, why they would not understand a single bit of what i was trying to tell. so its just natural evolution, i believe, that nowadays i sort of respect the language of contemporary music as best as i can, so i can maintain the possibility of communicating with others.maybe one day i will free myself again from the limitations that this whole process has brought with itself. still, after nearly 40 years, i am not sure what the future might bring. so i am very excited that ramon b4 asked me to include a track in chipchop 15 - huge thanks mate! i had the chance to unearth this track from my archives and revise it, byte by byte. so its about 21 years after it's original conception that grenzwellen finally is released, and i am very happy i didn't have to water it down too much, since there is one thing that still is a home that you can always can count on, can go back to and have the same sweet feeling like back in the dayze: the amiga. so glad i was part of those times, and it is even better to having sort of "returned". thanks to all the great folks in desire for having me on this disc and some buccaneer's greetings to the fine crew in g*p! have fun at revision 2013 and keep the spirit alive! and don't forget to vote! wertstahl signing off.... ..... wrap! ......
