(nosferatu at the keys)
I don't know. writing scrollers used to be so nice, it used to be so good. but now it's more like a job. what's it like to read them nowadays? i normally don't anymore myself. oh, and never read a scroller you wrote 30 years ago. just don't.
so it was about time to show off the talented artists of nectarine, and when the excellent pretracker was released we grabbed the opportunity. here's the result! some months later :)

code by nosferatu, graphics by prowler (except the intro text based on font by maverick/imp666, and dunno who made the necta dancer anim) and music by buzzer, serpent, triton, silok and mystra.
today is friday, so we get waffles! wohoo! too bad we can't have our waffles in the stream. instead we have cyborg jeff singing in the stream. oh well. i guess they don't call it autistic friday for no reason at all.

you are listening to @nectarine@ the best demoscene radio in the galaxy.
               @o@o@o@
corona lockdown getting you down? natural disasters ruining your habitat? zombie apocalypse taking a bite out of your good humour? or maybe worried about the ai singularity causing robot wars?
well don't worry. we got your back.
@@@ although there might be screaming, this stream will not be over. nectarine will keep on streaming, until the sun goes nova. @@@

the year is 1990. i am 19 years old and master of the world. I pick up the phone and dial the green number in USA. after a few seconds an operator answers, "hello, how may i..." and then I press dial on my blue box app.
it goes beeweepboopbipbapbapbapbididi
and then the modem goes krrrrrrrrrshhhhhhhhbrbrbrbrweeeee
welcome to digital express - the first elite bbs in norway
i sign in with my user name and password
i check the messages for the level 1 board - the newbie pit. there are 2 new members seeking approval. as cosysop, that's my job to take care of. one of them is from a member of fraxion. i don't know him. but he's in a good group so i approve the request.
now he has access to level 2-3 - where we keep the warez, utilities and demos. the other guy i don't know. i tell him to upload something good for access.

i am 19 years old i know everything i want to know i am everything i want to be i have everything i want to have i am master of the world
yes, that was my little story for today. maybe you enjoyed it but probably you're just reading the scroller because it's scrolling while you're listening to the music.

@@@@@ nectarine sends greetings to: scenesat, slay radio, kohina, demozoo, kestra, pouet, scene.org, amp, ada, eab, slengpung, modarchive, bitfellas, demovibes...

some text from triton follows! @@@
hi folks, it's triton writing... a new tracker by pink, an alternative way of meeting at solskogen, a new musicdisk by nectarine, and a bunch of other stuff that many of us have already noticed, or maybe not.
nosferatu started this cool project in 2019 and asked for musicians to participate. every musician had to first get familiar with the tracker, and after a while the first songs were shown. we shared some tipps and ideas to help each other. prowler got involved with contributing graphics. i really like the logo you made, prowler! about my songs: intrepid is my first song on pretracker, and it took me a while to finish. i tried to create an oldschool 8 bit sound and use some of the distinct pretracker features to make it sound more interesting. inspiration might be ym songs of various artists plus some other. leavin' teramis is a song that was originally written by jochen hippel aka mad max. on nectarine i read a comment about a song being similar to leavin' teramis. that name didn't ring a bell, so i checked it out and liked it. in fact it reminded me of other hippel songs i found great for a long time, like wings of death. in goattracker i once made a cover of wings of death level 2 music, so i thought why not make another cover in pretracker now! hope you are all having a great time with the new releases and also i hope that we will meet again physically at the one or other party. keep the scene spirit! cheers, triton signing off...

now some text from silok! @@@
(°> oh kinnas of the west, i'm sending greetz from my spaceshuttle.
Enjoy this wonderful Musicdisk Production. Pretracker is a nice tool to work with, greetings
to Pink. Thanx to Nosferatu, Prowler and all the great artists... Greetings to Nectarine,
CVGM, Saunagroup and the Demoscene. s!70K <°)

@@@ you are listening to nectarine. the first demoscene radio, ever. @@@

and now handing the keyboard (virtually) to serpent...

well well well... i guess you can hear you instruments here,
given you are Ctrix or Geir Tjelta, yes, ripped their nice chords and flute,
sorry about that, i'm not much of a knob tweaker.
If a composer that is everyone's to decide... ... Anyway, when Pink announced
this new tracker of his most of us were excited, Pink even gave me some
very early version which was indeed quite different from the release. Mostly
i was amazed of, and waiting for, straight to music compo exe as A500 entry
and same with using on productions. And at the same time amazed of the example
tunes by Pink with chords and all kind of stuff i don't even understand. I know
some do (besides Pink) so it's all right... Ehm... About my song, beginning is
influenced by.... uhhh... can't remember anymore when writing this in fact.
And the rest of the tune is just what came to mind, after 30 years of beer drinking-
Could have made better, could have made worse, you never know which one is
liked. Anyway i hope someone likes it. If not... check my other tunes from soundcloud
if you still dont like, you dont like, be free to send me fuckings, nowadays
demoscene just doesnt have enough of them. You gotta have some beef, some
drama you know, to stay interesting. Writing this i am a bit drunk, and as Nosferatu
orders to write more so i will, no bother the... *** fast forward 3 months *** ...right,
all the text earlier was written in november 2019 and now it's february 2020, but
nothing much has changed, im again starting to feel a bit drunk after 70% cannabis
absinthe and various other drinks plus many beers. How to fill scrollers, yes, with
greetings... and make them personal to take even more space, yessss...
and here they go to various friends and acquaintances, new and old...

hands and talked this and that at parties while more or less drunk, than i thought, still, quite good result
i would say anyway. also very sorry to those that feel they dont should be on the list, well, same excuse,
too drunk, cant remember everything, so sorry if so. But now its time to wrap, i hope this is long enough
for Nos cos the scroller deadline is now. And extra greetings to anyone who listened the tune this long.
So, goodbye for now...

ok, nosferatu typing again. had some good beers, watched the mibri c64 demoshow on twitch,
wanted to say some things about modern pc demos and old platform demos that try to mimic them.
any modern pc is several orders of magnitude faster than anything we had back in the day. software development
is also much advanced, you hardly need to code anything yourself anymore, you just include a library and
call an api to do what you want. anything is within your reach with hardly any effort... push a single button and a trillion electrons will move
to fulfill your every wish. what took months of effort in the 80s can be duplicated with hardly a thought expended...

...so why does it all feel so sorrowful?
i have no answers, only questions. sorry about that. you must be your own answer.
                                       @@@

yeah, you thought the scroller had wrapped, didn't you, but you were mistaken. muhahaha! a fool and his expectations are easily parted, that's what I always say. well, not always. not even very often, but I said it now. never expect the expected anyway.
scroller is now about 10 kilobytes. a fair length, we don't intend to challenge thrust ottifanten or anything like that. it's now finnish quality evening in nectastream, chanel5 vs !cube, so "bang haus haus", and so on.

there used to be a maus in my haus.... but it went aus... just like this scroller. for serious now.

...luck good ?backwards scroller the read to going you're ,what
