The Exceptions (EXS)

The Exceptions (EXS) on Amiga are generally viewed as a different group as The Exceptions (TEX), the famous Atari ST group. Though, some similarities and occurrences seem to point towards a possible common origin or spin-off, although there's currently no known proofs but only weak signals to support this claim. The weak signals are the following: > Founder and organizer of EXS Amiga was named after 'The Dragon', which may be a reference to the red dragon in the first demo by TEX on the Atari ST. Later the same dragon was featured again in the game Dragonflight developed by Thalion Software, a company founded by ex-TEX members. > Both groups were based in West-Germany, notably with members in and around Hamburg. > The Amiga group EXS started releasing on September 1988, only three months after the ST group TEX released its last intro/demo on June 1988. EXS issued its last known Amiga release on July 1989, only months before the game Dragonflight was released by Thalion Software. These facts are not sufficient by themselves to pronounce a direct statement. Still they are hinting at possible links between both groups.
